Okay, so you were right about Jacobs and Farris...

Farris getting called for offensive interference while sitting on the turf and getting gang-raped was a new one for me. He's so bad he actually incurs penalties by just sitting there.

Jacobs didn't do anything to really piss me off, but he certainly didn't play like a guy with something to prove.

John Hall: sayanara, I hope. You've been just good enough to avoid a pink slip but not good enough to really count on since that injury.

We should have beaten the Seahawks today. One INT that should have been a TD, a FG that should have gone, and at least two fumbles they coughed up that we didn't get.

Anyway, the game and the stat sheet were a lot closer than the score, and they were lucky to get past us. I'm officially cheering for Carolina the rest of the way. And I see the Panthers devouring the Hawks if they play like they did today against us.

i think fatigue finally caught up to us. we had a great run, but there will be some changes in the offseason.

Re: Okay, so you were right about Jacobs and Farris...

I honestly don't give a turd about anybody that's left now as long as seattle loses next week cuz with this lucky win they now go up high on my "I hate this team" list. Bring on the Superbowl party and commercials/movie trailers.

I agree fatigue probably was a factor but obviously so was the playcalling today. The injuries to the o-line and lack of a consistent opposite to Moss were pretty big as well. The PI call I can somewhat understand cuz Farris did look to have pushed off on the mlb, but the one call that pissed me off was the no call on the holding job the right tackle for seattle performed on hasselbacks td run.

I'm guessing he was calling his agent to see if McDonalds was hiring, because he didn't do himself any favors at all today.

What a shame. My interest in seeing those two get some PT was predicated on the notion that they'd be hungry for a chance to shine on a national spotlight and that they have they talent to play.

It never occurred to me that they might have a case of Westbrookitis and just lack heart.

Jacobs shows nothing. Chick and the boys brought up Randle El. I'd love to see that. TO could help, then again I'd never condone it unless we'd just won the Superbowl with him. McCardell available? Makes me sad that we have to line Cooley up at WR at times. He's great, don't get me wrong, but if we have ANY #2 WR also we'd improve tremendously as an offense. Randle El plays with passion, but will warrant BIG money.

Jacobs makes me sick. I wish they would have left him in Seattle.

And I am so mad at John Hall...missing a 35 yarder in the playoffs is inexcusable. In the 2nd game tonight both kickers were banging in 50 yarders without even hitting all of it. This guy shanks a gimme kick. rediculous...

Really? I can't see him getting that much dough. I'd be leery of the Peerless Price effect with a guy like that.

Re: Okay, so you were right about Jacobs and Farris...

I am one of the people who at the beginning of the season had high hopes for Jacobs finally producing and showing he deserved not only to be on the team but to push for the spot opposite of Moss, but he severly dissapointed/dissapeared this season. So much potential and nothing to show for the 2nd round pick taken to get him when we could have gotten Anquan Boldin (even though I hate F. State guys), Mike Doss, LJ Smith, Osi Umenyiora, Lance Briggs, Jason Whitten, or Nate Burleson. It's time for the team to admit they were wrong and free up the space for someone else to come in and produce. This team has had a rough history of drafting wrs so even though there r some possibly decent ones that might be there when they pick in the 2nd round, I hope the team fills the hole via free agency this year.

The problem with Jacobs is that he went to the "wrong" Florida school. Spurrier's last gift!

I gather that he shows some talent in practice, but it doesn't translate to the game. He deserves a second chance - somewhere else.

Randle El is in no way like Price. He would be a great addition and would also be a great PR solution as well so that we could all stop holding our breath about Brown.

What an enlightening post. Assuming you're a Seattle homer, come to rub it in. Savor the week, because so-called dominant playoff teams don't normally cough up the ball 4 times in a half.

At least not the ones that advance to the next round.

Randle El seems like a poor man's Santana Moss and I've not watched a lot of Pittsburgh games, but he doesn't seem like a tremendous upgrade over someone like David Patten. One thing he would provide is a decent punt returner...was anyone else extremely frustrated when Antonio Brown let punt after punt hit the ground and roll inside the 10 yard line...CATCH THE FREAKING BALL...I kept hoping the would put Moss back there to return punts sort of how they used to put Darrell Green back there during big games. Anyway, I think they really need a bigger receiver that can move the chains and be a threat in the red zone. Someone mentioned David Givens as a potential free agent, and if the Skins could pry him away from New England I think he would be a much better fit than Randle El. I continue to hope for Reggie Wayne and think Washington could be a nice destination for him because he would not have to step up and be a #1 receiver (for examples of #2's who failed as number #1s see Peerless Price and Alvin Harper, glad the Skins were unable to land either of them, though they did try for both), but could instead play the #1b role that he has filled in Indy the past couple of years...the more I think about it, though, Givens might be a better - and probably cheaper - fit...I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Are you going to come back and admit how much of a jackass you are when the Bears/Panthers whip up on Seattle next week or will you just crawl back into the hole you have been hiding in since 1984? Funny thing is, the Skins won two Superbowls in the time it took Seattle to win one playoff game and that includes some pretty lean years here in D.C.

Wow, the fact they could have had Boldin really makes it a kick in the balls. The really shitty thing is that Jacobs is another in a long line of Florida WR's who have stunk up the NFL. The only decent one I can think of is Darrell Jackson and I will be having nightmares about that bastard as I try to go to sleep tonight.

Yeah, Price had 1,400 yards receiving in Buffalo the year before he headed to Atlanta and Randle El had 35 catches for about 550 in Pittsburgh.

It wouldn't have mattered if we had T Owens.... randell L or anyone else...brunell wasnt capable of getting the ball to any of them ... hell he had moss and he couldn't get it to him.... I dont think it's the receivers....... it was old hurt marshmallow arm.... he looked old, cold, confused and hurt.... like Brian Mitchell said it's time to get rid of the old model and get a newer one this guy has had it!!!!!!!he played horribly for the last 3 games of the season........

The past three games you might be right, but we wouldn't have been in those games if it wasn't for that old model.

You dance with the one who brung ya. If you don't, it tells every player on your team that you don't believe in them, and they won't believe in you either.

Mr. Puff states he was "speared" and lost vision in one of his eyes during half-time. Trainers gave him some "migrane medication" because, I quote "My family has a history of migrane". I hope we cut this guy. His job is on the line and he can't play because he's got a headache. Big sissy.

I wanted Taylor Jacobs to prove himself this year, but he didn't get it done. Good luck to him elsewhere though. I would like to see Randle El, or perhaps Brandon Lloyd here. Reggie Wayne wants big money, so i don't want him. David Givens would be nice.

Nooooooooo, in case you haven't heard no one else is capable of winning 10 games for us, as if we would go 0-16 with Ramsey behind center, anything we did this year was because of Brunells spectacular play, and we all know Ramsey is incapable of completing Wr screens and 10 to 20 yard passes.

I feel that the Brunell experiement has been a waste, it has greatly retarded Ramsey's growth, and for what? So we can have a 36 year old, weak armed QB next season.

Qudos to railcon, and B. Mitch!

And for those who believe we need to get faster WR's, good luck finding one who can outrun Patten, another WR Brunell couldn't reach.

MTK 01-17-2006 09:01 AM

Re: Okay, so you were right about Jacobs and Farris...

Ramsey isn't even going to be here next year so let's forget about the pipe dream that is Ramsey as our starting QB.

Gibbs went out of his way to draft Campbell and gushed about him in his last press conference. Couple that with the quick hook he gave Ramsey in week 1, and I see no viable reason why Ramsey will be back with the team and back as the starter at that.

I don't want faster necessarily - I want bigger and stronger and able to run the routes. You know - like Jacobs +2" and smart and not a sissy. Silly speed would be nice, but it would just be gravy.

Just someone who can get off the line and get open would be a start.

Hopefully the Jacobs era in DC is coming to an end.

Oh there will be a million of those. We could trade him for Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning and apparently some would suggest we should have given him more of a chance.

No. He had plenty of chances. He had three games here, four games there, and then seven games last year. What kind of young quarterback gets an entire season of work to prove themselves anyway? I mean Harrington only got three and a half seasons and Carr has had four. C'mon, it's not like he's had to learn two completely different offensive systems in his tenure as a Redskin.

Realistically though, Ramsey is gone. If Gibbs decides to keep him(which I highly doubt), I hope he demands a trade. I can name at least half a dozen starting quarterback that he's better than. Hopefully he'll get a shot somewhere else.

To be fair, Price was playing opposite Eric Moulds and was catching passes from a revitalized Drew Bledsoe. He had 1,252 yards that year. Looking at the rest of his career numbers, I like to refer to that season as the Albert Connell factor.

Randle el was the third receiving option, and a rookie that year. And he was catching passes from Kordell Stewart...
