number 3 qb
who will be are number 3 qb
I saw hamden play a little the other day for amsterdam, he look's decent and was very accurate, he apparently hurt his hand and left the game, he was on the sidelines with an ice pack in uniform I don't think it was that serious.
Skins might stick with Hasselsuck
i think hasselback would be a great 3rd string guy. he did alright stepping in last year with alot of pressure on him and no o-line help
I think hasselback would be a good qb as well, I think keep Hamdam on the practice squad.
Hasselbeck as our #3 Quarterback sounds pretty good too me. He did decently last year starting some games, and if it came to the point that we needed a number 3, I could at least have some confidence w/ him.
I like Hasselbeck as well. As for Gibran, is there any rule as to how many times you can put someone on the practice squad? Like there is in baseball where you can only send a player down to the minors so many times
My understanding is you can keep only a handfull(like 5 I think) of players on the practice squad, that are signed. Almost aways 1 is a QB. The rest while they play for your practice squad can be picked up by other teams.
you can only be on a teams practice squad for two consecutive years.
i'd prefer a younger qb like hamdan as our 3rd stringer or maybe an undrafted rookie like Robert Kent. hasselback wouldn't be terrible either.
Hasselback. They always pan to the survivor girl when the show his face!
They increased the size of the practice squad this year to 8 players.
Hasselbeck just for his wife.
Gibb's likes the QB with the big arm, hamden does, hasselback doesn't.

Yeah, I think Hamdan is more of a Gibbs' type qb than Hasselbeck. Hamdan is big and strong. He's also young, so he might turn out to be a nice project for JG and Co. |
I think Hassleback would be great to have available. I look at it like this. What would have happened last year to either QB with pass protection. I believe both Ramsey and Hassleback would have been much more productive. I watched Hadman on TV and he just doesn't do it for me.
I think this year it will be Hasselbeck and Hamden will spend another year on the practice squad, then next year, he'll get a shot as the #3...
I like Hasselbeck as well. As for Gibran, is there any rule as to how many times you can put someone on the practice squad? Like there is in baseball where you can only send a player down to the minors so many times
Here's the practice squad eligibility requirements from the CBA:

Section 4. Eligibility: (a) The practice squad shall consist of the following players, provided that they have not served more than one previous season on a Practice Squad: (i) players who do not have an Accrued Season of NFL experience; and (ii) free agent players who were on the Active List for fewer than nine regular season games during their only Accrued Season(s). No player may be a practice squad player for more than two seasons.
The practice squad was also expanded to 8 players this season-- which I'm sure made Joe Gibbs ecstatic with the idea of being able to groom 3 extra players without counting them on the active roster. I suspect Hamdan will return to the practice squad for one more year-- though Hasselbeck looked really bad at the last minicamp, so I don't know. If Hasselbeck doesn't look better in this week's minicamp, they may start looking for another veteran #3 QB to take his place. |
Hasselback does not seem like a Gibbs kind of guy to me. For the sake of his size and ability, I hope he lands in a west coast offense.
