Ramsey or Arrington?
Who's more likely to return?
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I have a feeling neither will be back, but there's already a replacement for Ramsey.
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I really hope Arrington is back.
I think Ramsey is as good as gone. I mean....did you guys see his U-Haul leaving Redskins Park? |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
It is hard to tell.....Arrington said he wanted to stay but he cost so much and that will have to come down!!!! Love to have him and how is his health going to be??? As for Ramsey unless he wants out he has to stay! Gibbs will never be with out a NFL proven back up QB! Yes the proven is still up in the air. But unless we can pick up another QB free agent or he makes himself unwanted he will be back!
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I think Arrington is 50/50 right now, at least he's open to working something out, whether he's wanted is another story. We'll see how it shakes out.
Ramsey is 90/10 gone in my opinion. Gibbs was pretty short when asked about Ramsey in the season ending presser. He basically said we talked and we'll continue to talk. Meanwhile he gushed about Campbell for a good 5 minutes. I got the vibe that Ramsey is likely done here. Ramsey deserves the chance to compete for a starting job somewhere, it's obvious that isn't going to happen here with Gibbs' two hand picked guys in MB and JC. |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I think the Ramsey thing will play out like this:
Gibbs and Ramsey will speak after Patrick and wifey sit down and talk it over. Gibbs will try to sell Ramsey on staying with the team at least for one more year and then seek a trade '07. If Ramsey is adament about leaving, I think Gibbs will honor his request and let him seek a trade. Arrington, I think will be back. |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
Ramsey wants to start somewhere and that wont happen here. Gibbs will be using him for trade bait. The CBA may have everything to do with the fate of Arrington.
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
Wow...I'm one of the few who voted for Ramsey to return, but really, I feel both probably will be gone. Between the two...it's hard to say, I'd probably pick Ramsey if I had a choice to keep one or the other.

Okay, so where do you see him starting? And of the teams that you are about to name consider that there will probably be at least three QBs in the first round. And if he did end up with a team that needed a QB would he be competing with someone else? |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
Arrington can be a beast for us next year if he's fully healthy. His relationship with GW and the other defensive coaches has improved tremendously over the season. When asked about Lavar in the post Seahawks game interview, GW actually said "when Lavar is fully healthy, he sure is fun to coach."
Makes me think Lavar will be back. |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I ramsey wanted to stay like lavar wanted to stay he would stay. When asked about what would happen during the offseason ramsey said i don't know. we are talking. Then when asked what he wants to happen he said I don't know. Ramsey is asking to be traded. There is no reason why we wouldn't want him here but he doesn't want to be here. If ramsey doesn't want to be here i think he should be allowed to be traded.
Arrington wants to be here so bad he will take a reasonable pay cut. When was the last time some one was willing to take a PAY CUT to be with the washington redskins? |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
They're both gone IMO. But there's still a small chance Arrington will renegotiate his contract.

Scheed, if Ramsey goes where does he start? Here's my list of possible teams, but he would still compete with the incumbent: Miami Jets Detroit Buffalo (maybe Oakland) not likely... |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I think they will both be gone but there is no way PR will be back, I think there is a 25% chance LA will be back.
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
Definitely Arrington becasue he wants to. Rasamey wants out and we have seen how Gibbs handles a player that wants out.

Arrington has repeatedly made public that he wants to stay, but that will all depend on how much he's willing to renegotiate. That makes his status 50/50. Ramsey on the other hand, isn't saying the same thing. I think it's probably more likely that Gibbs will look for a replacement backup, or the job simply falls to Jason Campbell. |

Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
i would say arrington will be back not ramsey....
have to wait and see ..... |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I think Arrington will be back. His 2nd year back from injury he will be out to prove he is better, faster and stronger. It may be hard to find a good trading partner for him. Ramsey is not going to like backing up Campbell and we all see it could be coming. There are a couple of NFL QBs that have done well without being able to move, Bledsoe & Marino come to mind. Ramsey throws a missile and believes he is worthy of a starting job. Therefore, I would say Lavar would be back first.

Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I say 80/20 Arrington is back.
Ramsey is more like 20/80. |

Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
Arrington because he is someone who can still help the team next year. I love Patrick Ramsey, but next year is either going to be Brunell or Campbell. I think Ramsey has pretty much been writen off as having a future here anymore. I really wish him the best in the future though.
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
ramsey is gone as hinted by gibbs in his media press
arrington will stay because of the cap penalty that will be impose on us |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
first of all,how can anyone chose ramsey over lavar?we all know what #56 is capable of,can the same be said for patrick ramsey?im not down on ramsey, but we really dont know what he can do in a pro style offense with protection.lavar has already been to 3 probowls so we know what we got in him.on the post article,i would say there is no way in hell the skins down right release ramsey.in my opinion,he holds high trade value to the right team
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
if ramsey stays another year he'll have no trade value and be free to leave. Arrington has less trade value than he should right now cause of his massive contract and non-full recovery. If arrington takes a pay cut it may be enough to keep him or at least buy a year where he could really push his value to the point where his contract (minus the SB since the skins pay all of that) would seem really attractive (and our cap hit another year out would be far less).
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
First, I voted that I think that Arrington will be back with the Skins next year, I really hope that he is. I know people think that he is not very good or whatever, but if we cut him or trade him then who do we get to fill that spot?
Also, I want to say that I hate how our Front Office has this uncanny tendency to show our hand way too early. Arrington does have some of a trade value but that has ben damaged not only by Arrington, with his contract and recovery problems, but also the fact that it is no secret that the FO is thinking about dumping him. "There's still a market for him," said one AFC general manager who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "But there's also a feeling that they'll eventually end up releasing him, so it's hard to get value for the player." Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
Arrington over Ramsey, but unfortunately I'm afraid they'll both be gone. If we could work it out I'd love to have both back for another season. Ramsey will have a chance to start elsewhere I believe. Arrington will have to overcome huge financial hurdles to stay...
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
ramsey can't stay unless he's starting, otherwise he won't get a chance to prove his worth and he'll NEVER get a big contract. If he comes back he could easily end up losing 10+mill and any shot at ever being a starting QB outside injury. I know he's a nice guy, but if i were him i'd already have 3 or 4 potential deals lined up.

Guy, no one has answered this one question for me. With what team can he get a shot, and furthermore suppose he still ends up #2 with that team. That's a real possibilty. |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I think Ramsey could get a shot with the Dolphins, Raiders, Jets, Ravens, and Lions. He could probably compete for the Bills or Browns starting spot. Or be the heir apparent to Trent Green in KC or Kurt Warner in AZ
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
There is no Doubt Ramsey is gone...done gibbs said quote" Ramsey Deserves a Fighting job some where else" and Arrington said quote " I want to be here " and i think dan snyder has enough money to keep him. its if he wants too

He could also go to the Saints, and start there while they groom Leinart or Young. Brooks is definitely gone from the Saints |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I was thinking about the Saints, but the papers down here are saying whoever they draft will start next year
|
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
These are teams that could use P-Ram IMO.
New York Jets - Ramsey/Coles reunited Miami Dolphins - Good running game, and do you really think Ferotte is the future of that franchise? Oakland Raiders - Plenty of weapons to throw to. New Orleans Saints - Louisiana native. Detroit Lions - Harrington is obviously done, and with a new coach coming in, who knows what happens to Garcia Arizona Cardinals - Doubt Ramsey would want to go there. Cleveland Browns - Is Charlie Frye the guy they want? Tennessee Titans - Doubt it, since they'll probably draft a QB. Minnesota Vikings - Looks like the Culpeper era is done there. Brad Johnson is like 37 or something. Dallas Cowboys - God I would really hate it, but you never know |

I've thought for a long time that Pat would probably be a good fit at QB there. Now, the problem I have is that I think Dallas would have considered giving up a first round pick when we got Brunell and now I don't think we'll see anywhere close to that. However, as far as the Vikes are concerned, Brad Childress, the new head man in Minny said that he was committed to Culpepper. |

Thanks for info on the Vikes. I know I heard rumors of a Miami/Minnesota trade for Culpeper, but I guess Childress made up his mind. |
Re: Ramsey or Arrington?
I'd agree that a 3rd rounder would be the best they could hope for in exchange for Ramsey, but I think the market was there as soon as we picked up Brunell. I kinda wish, for his sake, that he had forced a trade then. I think that he can be successful in this league. If I were Ramsey I'd be intrigued by Miami, assuming they pursue TO like they said, Oakland and Baltimore.
