The perfect trade for Ramsey
So I havent looked around at who may be available this offseason, but does anyone have any thoughts on an active player that may make for a good (and logically possible) trade for Ramsey if he goes? And I dont mean simply skill-wise, but someone who can fill a void for the Skins.

Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Tony McGee suggested trading with Detroit for one of their WR's. They aren't exactly short of talent. Other than that I'd trade him for picks.
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Trade him for a bad ass punter! J/K
I think the Skins are looking more along the lines of a draft pick, but then again I bet if the right player was offered, I think they would jump all over it. |
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
My buddy said he saw something over at Extremeskins that said a deal was worked between him and Abraham along with a draft pick. I can't get to extremeskins to verify this, or it is not showing on ESPN or other sites. Can anyone look at that and post if it is true.

Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Ramsey to New Orleans for DE Darren Howard straight up.
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
I'll be happy with Ramsey for a 3rd round pick.
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
id guess that most likelywe will be offered draft picks rather than players
id assume any disgruntled player who isnt a mega star would be possible though |
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Bobby Boucher
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
I believe the deal with the Jets for Abraham was earlier this year, before the Jets signed Vinny as comic relief...may still be on the table, but i'm not sure
Detroit for one of those receivers, Oakland for Porter or Gabriel, a pick as well would be nice... |
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Bobby Boucher
HAHA how bout the QB from Waterboy. That's an even deal.
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
I would love to get a player for Ramsey instead of a pick. I think we are close to making our run next year, so I don't want to wait for a player to develop. I want a contributor now.
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
I think we should trade him to someone in our division so our D can get more int's.LOL
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
If we have to pick another player, I'd vote for Terry Glenn, he might be old, but he sells out to come up with the ball and he's exactly the kind of player who could fill the #2/#3 with Patten.

|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Ramsey for Laveraneus Coles and a toe surgeon.
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Ramsey and all of our draft picks for the next 10 years for Chuck Norris.
|
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Ramsey for Dick Vermiel as Asst.-Asst-Asst. Head Coach, offense and emotions.

thats how teams get into salary cap hell, by not building through the draft and just through FA and trades for players. |

I agree with you. Considering that Gibbs was able to use a 3rd round pick to get Chris Cooley, I'd love to have a 3rd rounder for Ramsey. Cooley is one of the best bargains on our roster right now. |

I would consider Mike Williams for Ramsey. I doubt Detroit would give up on him after just one year though. If Mike Williams is a bust at WR he still has a chance to convert to TE and be dominant in the future. He is not interested in that now but if it's the only way he sticks in the league he would have to consider it. |

Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
There are 4-5 Teams that should be interested....
Saints... Donte' Stallworth age(25) 70rec 945yds 13.5avg 7td Dolphins Draft Pick Jets..... Draft Pick Raiders.. Jerry Porter age(27) 76rec 942yds 12.4avg 5td Lions..... Draft Pick I would love to see the deal with the Raiders worked out. Porter is a very good inside receiver that can also stretch the field. As for as the Jets the best player that they would offer...Abraham is a free agent so we dont need to trade for him. Donte' Stallworth is also a productive receiver that can stretch the field. As far as a draft pick I would not except anything less that a 3rd rnd pick. We are better off trying to make a deal for a player. |

 Love it! I really have to ask, what do we do next year if Brunell goes down early and is out for the year? Does anyone think Campbell is ready to take us to a SB? The fact is if all we can get for Ramsey is a third rd pick, then there is no way I trade him, with the addition of Saunders and a couple good moves in the offseason we are IMO a bonified SB contender, we can't allow that to slip away because we need a third rd pick for Ramsey that's ridiculous. Ramsey has far more value to us as a backup, than anything a third rd pick would bring. The only WR I would really want out of Detroit is R.Williams, Rogers probably can be had for a lot less than Ramsey. Stallworth is intriging, I am up in the air on Porter. |
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
ok now i know this is a little over the edge but we get Jerry porter for Ramsey straight up. Use the draft to pick up sinorice moss, then we have Santana, Porter, Patten, Cooley, and Sinorce name a secondary that wouldnt soil themselves trying to cover 3 or 4 of those guys on the field at the same time; with Portis in the backfeild.

Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
Ok, lets be realistic here.
1. 'Skins are 20 million over the salary cap 2. Ramsey makes a little over 3.3m for 2005 3. Abraham makes 6.6m for the season 4. Abraham will certainly cost more than Ramsey Kind of difficault to believe that an NFL franchise would trade a starter AND a draft pick for a QB that has been replaced. Ramsey should be able to fetch a 4th round, maybe even a 3rd round, draft pick. |

But we will have to restructure quite a bit to fit him under the cap. |

Nah, we'll have to trade for him cause Abraham will probably get the franchise tag. |
Re: The perfect trade for Ramsey
I could see any of the following teams make a play for Ramsey (in no particular order):
Baltimore Detroit Oakland Miami Dallas (if Henson doesn't pan out in Europe and Bledsoe suffers a Brian Griese type accident) Jets Arizona |
