Real offseason predictions

1. R.Wayne = dallas, I have a bad feeling about this one. Because T.O. goes to...

2. T.O. = Falcons, Trust me, This is the place T.O. wants to go and the Falcons will give in when Vick pushes to get T.O.

3. S. Alexander = Eagles, To go with Westbrook. They tried to get him last season.

4. Randle El = Eagles, Not a far trip for this free agent who has his chance to be the #1 wr as Moss did last season for the Skins.

5. E.Moulds = Redskins, Our #2 WR who doesn't mind being #2 in our new offense.

6. D.Culpepper = Cards, D. Green trys to relive some his glory days. This could be a good pickup though with the cards WR'S. Cards give up a 1st round pick.

7. Ramsey = Raiders, Raiders give up 3rd and 5th.

8. Chad Lewis = Redskins, Surprise signing and skins get a good TE. Suanders will use him to help strecth the field.

9. Ricky Williams = Seahawks, They take a chance, Only gives up a 6th round pick this year and a pick next season. They also go RB in draft.

10. K.Robinson = Redskins, To be a #3 or #2 and bolster our special teams.

Chad Lewis came out of retirement to play a few games this year. There is no way.

I would like to take a chance on K-Rob (if he signs cheap).

I still think that Peerless Price would be a good flier.

i have a hard time believing that the seahags will let alexander go to another team. plus the eagles are a "pass first" offense, i don't see them spending tons of money on a rb. butcha never know.

not sure we could afford both koren and moulds... also i do not think koren will sign to be a number 3..

reggie aint goin to dallas

the eagles will not sign name free agents

lewis is a good pickup. maybe christian fauria as an alternative

randle el will not go to philly

Re: Real offseason predictions

2. T.O. Signs to the Packers, Brett comes back, and ahman green resigns to put green bay. They rebuild the line through the draft.

3.Alexander resigns to the Seahawks, try to make it back to the bowl after losing to the Steelers

4.Randel el stays, so does Moulds.

5. D.Culpepper is traded to Miami

6. Raiders pick Marcus Vick in the draft. Also they sign Aaron Brooks, cut Collins.

diehardskin2982 01-22-2006 08:03 PM

Re: Real offseason predictions

7.Ramsey traded to Detroit for Charles Rogers straight up. Redskins also sign Steve Hutchinson, Az-Zahir Hakim (played for Saunders Rams Superbowl year), and Christian Fauria. Focus more on resigning Skins than spending big in the market. May also take Koren Robinson because he has been lobbying to get here. We draft Daryl Tapp.

Hakim played 12 games as a Saint and was their Third ranked reciever with 489 yards total and 14 yards average per catch. He is fast and a threat as a punt return, way better than Brown. He has also played for Al Saunders during the Rams Superbowl year. If I remember correctly Moss was said to be injury prone before this season.

Hutchinson is part of the best side of the Seattle offensive line (the left). A clear key to the success of a Al Saunders offenses is an awesome line. Dockery is a great talent but he is better as a backup.

Robinson wants to be on this team. I read on one thread on here that he has been on Springs and Jansen's show and seems to want to join this team. Does that mean he'll be here... NO. at 6-1 205 lbs with nice athleticism and great speed he is an interesting aquisition.

Tapp has been compared to Dwight Freeny in many Draft analysis. He may be undersized, but this years sack king, Derrick Burgess is only 6-2 260. Tapp is 6-1 268 with a 4.63 40, and lead his team in tackles. We have run stopping Dend's, we need a pass rusher. I think he's a good pick

What do you expect to get for Ramsey? This is a fair trade for both teams. If Rogers comes here to a team where we don't leave our recievers out to dry he can have a very productive season.

nah... they would tar and feather casserly for that one. besides, you have a great qb coach in kubiak coming in. i think he could get carr to the next level. plus, why take a has been like williams with a lot of baggage when you could get reggie bush? yeah, i know williams is from texas and so is young, but i do not think it will happen.

you are right. hutch will cost more than thomas. we cannot afford 2 guards that cost that much

robinson if he has his head on straight is a fine player. he seemed to get his life turned around in minnehaha.

rogers is another similar player. if he is finally over his destructive behavior he has (had) enormous talent. someone will give him another chance the way the vikes gave koren a second chance.

hakim has bad hands and is too small

1. Wayne-The Colts are going to re-sign or franchise him.

2. T.O.-Two reasons he won't be in Atlanta, Arthur Blank said he's not coming and Michael Vick doesn't want him there. He'll end up in Miami or KC.

3. S. Alexander-I have a better chance at being an Ealge than he does. They just did a huge extension for Westbrook, why would they sign someone who needs 20-25 carries a game? With them going to the SB, they'll have to find a way to keep him.

4. Randle El-He was overmatched as a #2 WR this year (34 rec, 1 TD) and now he's the Eagles #1 WR? I would love for them to make that huge of a mistake, but Reid and Banner are too smart for that.

5. Moulds-I could see him as a Redskin if Williams signs off on him. BTW, Williams thought Price was a prima donna when he had him in Buffalo, that's one big reason he won't be in the consideration for the Redskins. Plus I don't see Gibbs picking up a Parcells washout..

6. Culpepper- Cards or Vikings.. Very outside chance for the Dolphins.

7. Ramsey- He wants to go somewhere and contend for the starting job.. Miami, Minnesota (if they deal Culpepper), NYJ, Cards, Lions (if they cut Harrington) are all possible destinations.

8. Chad Lewis will go back into retirement

9. R. Williams-Talk in Miami is that they will keep Brown and Williams.. Williams is cheap and Saban likes the 2 back system..

10. K-Rob-Maybe Redskins as a #2, definitely not a #3.. If not he will find work somewhere as a #2..

Other thoughts on names mentioned in the thread-
Hakim-Not a viable option on a winning football team, hasn't been a return threat since '00

Hutchinson-Too much $$ at one position for the Redskins to go after him, likely will end up back in Seattle or maybe in Houston..

As for the Ramsey for Rogers trade, why? Trading disappointing players for each other is one thing, but Rogers has never been healthy, had a drug suspension and an attitude problem. I wouldn't trade anything for him and would be wary with him as a free agent.

1-Wayne is gonna get the franchise in Indy. So he stays put
2-You're probably as right as possible on TO. He destroys that team as well I bet.
3-If they win the SB I can't see them letting him go. Th SB winning team doesn't just let the league MVP go. That'd be a nightmare for the organization. If they lose I think it is better than 50-50 he goes. And the Eagles are a pretty solid guess on where he ends up. They are scary with him. Scary. One issue. Does Seattle actually let an NFC team get him?
4-I think Randle El ends up here. If the Skins want a guy they get 'em. I just see Randle El as fitting with this team and coaches. No way Philly outbids us or anyone else probably for ANY free agent.
5-Please no. We don't need an aging former shell of anything on this team. A Moulds signing smacks of desperation and is a short term half-ass solution. I hope this doesn't happen.
6-Sage wisdom. Who QBs for Minnesota if he is gone though? They can't think Brad Johnson is anything more than a short timer. Although I still see this as very possible Childress did do some pretty good things with a relatively mobile and smart QB in Philly. Culpepper is a better version of McNabb given the same set of circumstances I think. Maybe Childress keeps him.
7-I still think Ramsey ends up in Miami. They got nothing at QB that is even short timer good. Maybe a 3rd and a 6th but who the heck knows?
8-Yeah...no.
9-If they let Alexander go then this is a given. I hope Williams ends up in Philly if Philly is going to get a back. I'd much rather them have Williams than Alexander.
10-Still leary of his character but that issue has been mitigated somewhat by the positive press he has received lately. They shouldn't spend much on him if they bring him in though.

Forget predicting other teams..

Redskins offseason ...

Out --- Arrington , Jacobs , Ramsey , Harris , Stoutmire , Jimoh , Royal , Holdman , Kozlowski , Patten , Wynn ,

Restructure many Signing bonus`s :spank:

Im gonna be realistic as possible with a lil hope as well about this ..

In --- G Steve Hutchinson for Arrington , Picks for Ramsey , Pick or picks or whatever means to get DE Robert Mathis from the colts . Add in Wr Randle EL , Fb Vernon Haynes , TE Christian Fauria and a proven physical corner ( Lenny Walls , Deshae Townsend , RW Mcquarters) i like all three starting or at nickel.

DID i hear Cap issues??!! HAHA OLD NEWS MY FRIEND !!! Snyder Drops bombs every Year !!! Dont hold your breathe....:biggthump

I wouldn't mind seeing us pick up the guys you listed, but i disagree with you on whos leaving and who we will get....
Arrington stays-restructures deal
Patten stays-Solid #3 WR
The rest can easily be replaced....
I'm sure we will get picks for Ramsey. Seahawks wont trade Hutch for Lavar. Nate wants #1 CB money, and we dont need to waist that kind of money on a CB, because of the way our D is set up....I'd take Fauria in a heart beat to replace Royal....Haynes is a push, i love sellars and Haynes really would be an upgrade...Wane would be nice, but again to much money in one possition...Randle would be a nice pick up to bolster our Special teams, but i think we need a bigger WR to go accross the middle/deep opposie of Moss(J.Jerovicous)...I think chavous would be a nice complement to Taylor

MY bad on the Haynes pick...I was thinking of a RB...but i wouldn't mind picking him up for cheap as a replacment for Wynn at DE, as long as we also draft a DE in the 2nd or 3rd for pure passrushing as a safety net for haynes.

Welcome to the best B&G Forum in the world, and hope to see more posts.

Your "Outs" may not be, as well as your "Ins". But that's OK! That's why we have an expert Redskins FO to prove us talent evaluators turned Cap spenders into bad guessers!

wynn is overpaid, but the team likes hi leadership and he is solid if not great. arrington won't be worth enough to get hutchinson cause most team thin we'll end up dumping him anyways. no way we can afford to ditch arrington and take his hit, take hutchinsons new contract AND have any money left to get mathis too... there's just no way. We don't have a real need for haynes, though fauria would be a great addition.

Stoutmire , Jimoh , and Royal are all cheap warm bodies and will in all likelyhood be back since they're near min contracts. Patten will be back because he is pretty good (maybe more as a #3 or with a QB that actually looks for him), and he just got a big contract and it'd cost more to toss him than to keep him.

724Skinsfan 01-23-2006 10:05 AM

Re: Real offseason predictions

I don't see the 'Skins signing very many big name FA at this year, if any. I'll bet Arrington restructures (and proof-reads) his contract. Robert Royal is still a work in progress and will probably stay. The offensive line is playing just fine. Matt Bowen will be let go, Prioleau can take his place. Ramsey will earn too much for us to keep as a #2 (#3?) QB. B. Noble, W. Harris and C. Raymer either restructure or they'll be let go. Noble may just retire, actually. I don't what to make of James Thrash. He was one of my favorites when he first signed with the team like ten years ago. Saunders may try to bring over some reserve role players to help with the (new) offensive system. The biggest signing this year may just be a kicker. Of all the WR's out there that I would really be excited would be K. Robinsen or Brandon Lloyd.

Re: Real offseason predictions

Robinson is the most talented of the WR's, but if we sign him we would have to be sure he finally has his head on straight, if he truly does then I would sign him in a heartbeat, but he would have to structure his contract to protect us if he falls off the wagon, if he's willing to do that then I believe he's showing that he believes in his ability to succeed and stay clean, if not we shouldn't bother.

Perhaps S.Springs will go along way in convincing Gibbs on whether or not he's OK, obviously something clicked when he joined minnesota he was defiently a different person at least on the field. Perhaps he is another Chris Carter in the making.

Doubt the Eagles will go out and get Alexander. He will probably be looking at the biggest contract for a RB ever and I just don't think they ante up like that. Also, if Seattle can't sign him, they will probably franchise him and the loss of the draft picks doesn't seem to fit into their franchise building model.

I also doubt Koren Robinson is coming here. He doesn't fit the profile for the type of free agent that the Redskins want to sign. Neither does Moulds. The Redskins approach is no longer about big name / over-the-hill. Under Gibbs, it has really been about finding younger guys who have it all together upstairs, who will play well within a system.

Also doubt Randl El will ever have the type of impact that Moss had last year. He didn't have a huge year playing opposite Hines Ward, who commanded most of the attention from opposing defenses last year. If he couldn't make consistent big plays in this type of situation then chances are he isn't going to be much better when he has the other team's #1 guy lining up opposite him.

The only one that seems like a possibility on your list is the TO signing. Then again, I could care less about him as long as he doesn't come here!!

If Rogers comes here to a team where we don't leave our recievers out to dry he can have a very productive season.
moss,rogers,patten,robinson,and hakim? LOL ummmmm no

thrash will stay b/c of his ST play, and patten will stay b/c of a 5 yr deal he signed last season. so jacobs and brown are expendable. and everyone needs to get off of waynes nuts, when you have marvin harrison on the other side, he's bound to look good especially with the colts offensive power put together. we dont have indy offense, just moss. and wayne is just gonna want to much money and you are workin yourselves up for nothing

Farris will be gone too. So it would be Moss, Rogers or Robinson, Patten, Thrash and Hakim. We are looking for a number 2 not a whole new recieving core. Hakim is the only free agent who has played on a Saunders offense before and had decent numbers. don't be too surprised if my prediction is dead on

Where is everyone getting this impression of K. Robinson saying he WANTS to be a Redskin? Someone give me some concrete evidence. I need to read or see it outside of this site

Koren appeared on a comcast's local sports show hosted by Jon Jansen and Shawn Springs after we lost to the Seahawks, and he said he was interested in being a skin, or atleast open to it. maybe some has the webpage for that site.

There's no article except for the interviews that were on Comcast. Robinson made it very clear that he'd love to be a Redskins and be reunited with Springs.

I doubt the Seahawks are going to let Alexander go. As for Robinson coming to us although I wouldnt mind seeing this I just don't think he is what were looking for, Chad Lewis will probably retire again, and I dont think Moulds has to much left in the tank, Randle El could possibly go to the Eagles but he isn't a #1 receiver so I dont think this will happen, and I don't think that Dallas will fork out the money for Reggie Wayne, as for TO I doubt he will go to Atlanta because his and Vicks egos would conflict I can see TO going to Miami or Denver.

Good looking out. Maybe I may warm up to him being with the team.

Hopefully not to reunite and drink/party together!
