Is it just free agency, or the deadline to get under the cap, or both? I can't take another 3 days of waiting (although I'd do it if the CBA gets extended).

Why would the league do this unless a deal still might get done? The teams were already prepared to cut certain people in the event the CBA didn't get extended.

both. I think you must be under the cap when free agency starts. We have a plan so we might as well cut everyone tonight when we find out it didn't get done.

Re: Free Agency pushed back 3 days

Sounds like what they're doing is pushing back the start of the fiscal year another 3 days. If this is the case, then anything that was to have happened by the start of the new fiscal year will need to occur by the new date.

I doubt they're only pushing back one thing, because they're all tied together.

cut time is still tonight at 10pm.

Where did you hear that? Because I read an article somewhere that the cut deadline would be Sunday night at 10pm.

Per ESPN, the salary cap deadline is pushed back 3 days:

Re: Free Agency pushed back 3 days

No cuts tonight, 3 more days to negotiate a deal. I'm feeling a lot better about this, I think some poker is being played, and in the end things will get done.

Are you sure?

I don't understand the point of it, if true.

Re: Free Agency pushed back 3 days

i heard cut time is still tonight and the skins will say something sometime after 9pm (from sportstalk 980).

i'd guess the 3 days is for the league to process the paperwork and agents to figure out what the game plan is.

You might be right, but that would be really strange.

I just saw this as well on the AP...what dose it mean??? Is the hole deal push back three days or just the time free agentcy starts? Dose teams still have to be under the cap by 7pm pst? I have to say this hole thing is very vague!

Does anyone feel like forming an armed gang, taking over the NFLPA and NFL HQ, and forcing an agreement at gunpoint? Ok, just checking.

Good, smack him around for me too. I don't care if he works in the mail room, someone needs to feel the wrath of our anger. :madani:
