Re: So Good News For Once: Redskins Radio Update Tomorrow
Time to watch Gibbs men about Arrington and things!!!
|
Re: So Good News For Once: Redskins Radio Update Tomorrow
Listening to Cerrato on Redskins TV.
Cerrato says that if a CBA is reached, the Redskins will be quite active in free agency. Cerrato says that if there is no deal, the Redskins won't be very active in free agency. |
Re: So Good News For Once: Redskins Radio Update Tomorrow
Cerrato looks like he hasn't shaved in a day or two. He's probably just as frustrated as I am.

I was thinking the same thing!!!! No sleep. But he like Gibbs see this as it is and are dealing with it!!! |
Re: Gibbs Press Conference
Gibbs approached Arrington with 2 options.. If you want to stay, we can work out something... and if you would rather leave, we can do this:..
Arrington chose to leave.. He probably already has a deal in principle over in Marty Land.. |
Re: Gibbs Press Conference
50 gut welcome!!

Re: Gibbs Press Conference
50-Gut is a reliable source. He has my imprimatur(FWIW). Welcome 50.

Re: Gibbs Press Conference
In the spirit of no new threads.
EDIT:Link Did anyone hear on todays Redskin Radio that Peter King thinks the league should look into the Arrington deal. He really doesnt think Lavar forefited that 4.4 million. F@#$ PETER KING. The guy is a Giants fan who hates all things redskins. This is a slap in the face. |
Re: Gibbs Press Conference
For the record here's what he said:
"I think just for the sake of insuring trust in the salary cap from some skeptical front offices, the league needs to make sure LaVar Arrington is really going to forego the $4 million in guaranteed money to get his freedom now. Not saying it didn't happen, but I am saying with all the money the Redskins have to spare and how convenient it was that the team could find this money after months of hand-wringing over the Arrington deal, the league needs to double check that the accounting of this is clean. Assuming Arrington did give the money back, it's a smart move on his part to get his freedom now instead of in June or July. And I think it's a good example of cutting one's losses. The Redskins and Arrington were never going to be happy together, even though he loves the city and the people there." |

Sad he's gone, but happy for the Family. He in a way was a minature example of what would happen if T.O. were ever on our team. Not to mean they are comparable in almost any way. The things that we need to replace in his departure: 1st, his ability to get our fans into the game - not that Marshall, Washington and Taylor do not posess equal quality. 2nd Arrington has an eloquent way of speaking in interviews. He's educated and explains himself well. I remember an interview with Dan Patrick during Spurr's second year w/ Arrington. Arrington said that the thing that has been the most difficult in DC compared w/ Penn State is that he's had 3 or 4 head coaches and other numerous dc's in the time he's been here. He said chemistry is the most frustrating part of our team. Well we've got chemistry now - we've got fusion! 3rd, his aggressive behavior, albeit at many times contrary to the defense's play call - he would break up many plays and still recover(many times) when he blew the play. What I will not miss: The controversy and distraction from winning that he has brought into our element since drafting him. He says he wants to stay in the NFC East, Philly has room, good luck Reid. They'll get a little mini-me-T.O. in the making. Sorry LaVar, you overstepped your boundaries after your knee surgery. Hail SKINS! |

Well, we all saw how great things were with Trotter and Lavar here. That duo really doesn't scare me. He would really be best in San Diego, but I think he would also do well with the Giants or Dallas. I don't believe he wants to go to Dallas, which means we should hope he stays away from NY. |

He simply agreed to forgo the remaining payments on several bonuses. As Lavar said he "didn't write them a check". And the "hand wringing" had to do with the cap implications of inserting an after the fact 6.5 million dollar bonus. Does anyone honestly think that if Snyder could have written a check for 6.5 mil to make this go away he wouldn't have? He had no cap lattitude to make it happen. |
Re: Gibbs Press Conference
That's seriously a retarded comment by King.
Yeah the league better get a copy of that check from LaVar to the Skins. |
Re: Gibbs Press Conference
Matty,
I understood that it was not money he was already paid, but money he would have been due. Is that incorrect? |
Re: Gibbs Press Conference
How anyone could compare LaVar to TO is beyond me. Did he split our locker room, did he berate our head coach, did say our QB stunk. All of the team mates are shocked that he gone, not glad hes gone. You all had better worry about him signing with a team in the NFC east, especially the eagles. Kearse, trotter, LaVar, dawkins, ect, that is pretty formitable defense. I think all you all are trying to convince yourselves that him leaving or him signing with another team is no big deal. Right our D will probably be just as good, no question. But what could he do for a Giants team, or an Eagles team. I dont know about you but it scares me a little, especially since we are all so close in terms of how good we are.

So you would rather see Lavar do well somewhere else, instead of the Redskins doing well without him? |

Thats not what I said. I hope he tears up people with his new team, EXCEPT when he plays us. I like LaVar, (I dont think anyone here would dispute that LOL) as a person and football player. of course I want him to do well. I was a fan of LaVar long before he was a Redskin, it was just luck my favorite team drafted him. I would have been a LaVar fan no matter who drafted him. Now I will be a fan of LaVar no matter who signs him. That doesn't question my loyalty to the Redskins, but shows the loyalty I have for people. |

Football is a team sport. If you want to be a fan of individuals, I suggest golf or NASCAR. |

that is a rediculous thing to say. You never likes a player, you never wanted them to succeed. that is retarded |

I'd have to agree. If you're only a fan of the Redskins logo and uniform, then you should use that as your icon instead of Santana Moss. |
Matty,
I understood that it was not money he was already paid, but money he would have been due. Is that incorrect?
that's correct. its money he won't get instead of money he gave back. not a huge difference between the two though. |
