Re: Just Great!!
So have LaVar and Trotter made up after Trotter's comments last year?
|
Re: Just Great!!
Ugh - that's just what I need. I'll have to burn my #56 jersey if he goes to the Eagles.
|
Re: Just Great!!
They're just turning around LaVar's comments when he said he'd have a hard time putting on a Dallas uniform into him saying, "He wants to play for NY or Philly."
|
Re: Just Great!!
I think that he would be completely disrespecting the fans of Washington by going to an NFC East team. I will go from loving the guy to completely hating him. What a dick move to want to do this!
|
Re: Just Great!!
Well, his reasons for wanting to come back to FedEx were because he loved it here. However, if he goes to Dallas and goes back on his word, he will be the most hated ex-Redskin of all time. Probably my most hated athlete in all of sports. Even more than Derek Jeter and I HATE Derek Jeter.
|
Re: Just Great!!
We need to be more concerned about who we'll get to replace LaVar than where he ends up. At least the Redskins control that part of the puzzle.
|
Re: Just Great!!
who cares bring it on lavar.
and have fun with whoever you sign with. that goes for trotter as well. he was a skin now he,s not nuff said. |

:biggthump I don't think that he'd go to Dallas if it would be hard for him to put on the uniform, hence, going back on his word. |

LaVar's word is crap.

Get the hell out of here. This is a business and what loyalty does he owe Washington after what he went through the last two years there, no matter whos fault it is. He had to have a great taste in his mouth to forfeit 4mil to leave. I love the guy too, as a person and a football player. I hope her rips everyones head off he plays against and goes to a bunch more probowl to prove ole GW and Gibbs wrong. Especially Dale Linsey who found it appropriate to berate him in front of teammates. Just hope he doesn't kill us twice a year. |
Re: Just Great!!
If you were to put the blame in percentages, how much would you say the Skins are to blame and how much is LaVar to blame?

Are you a skins fan or a Lavar fan? Just asking. |
Re: Just Great!!
I really don't care where he ends up.
He's not a Redskin anymore, so my overall interest in him as a player has dropped a few notches. Best of luck to him, but he's just another player now to me. |
Re: Just Great!!
If you were to put the blame in percentages, how much would you say the Skins are to blame and how much is LaVar to blame?
I dont know that its anyones fault. Two just didn't see eye to eye. There are things LaVar is definately at fault for, but I can say the same thing about the organization. I am sad to see him leave the Redskin organization, I have followed him since he started college. However, I am glad that he is going to be able to get a fresh start and show the NFL he is still a pro bowl linebacker that puts fear in QBs. |
Re: Just Great!!
I hope he does go to the Eagles or Gints, because Saunders will be able to scheme like crazy to take advantage of him being out of position. The guy's not a smart football player, we're better off without him.
|
Re: Just Great!!
Screw him, he's a shame and a fraud! Don't preach that you love it here and love the fans when the second you're a free agent you want to go to a team in our division! He is just another typical overpaid athlete. Yeah, he wants to come back and try to beat our asses to prove he's still good. He should go outside of the division and do that. I hope he blows out his knee again! I was supporting him when I heard he left, but to say he wants to stay in the division? Screw him!

You are scared of what he will do. If you weren't you wouldn't care who he played for. Why get mad over a guy wanting to prove people wrong? I would want to prove a person wrong every chance I got, that is what it sounds like he is doing. what better way to do that, than to stay in the division. I have confidense in the Redskins that they will be prepared if he is on the Giants, Eagles, or Cowboys. |

I am by far a Redskins fan, why would you question it. I am also a LaVar fan, as are a ton of Redskin fans. I am a Steven Davis fan too! what differense does it make? Because I like the guy and hope he does well. I would never root for him to beat the Skins if that is what you are getting at. The skins come first. |

I questioned it because you made it sound like you wanted to see Lavar do well against us. As a fan, I don't think theres anything wrong with liking players, but to say that you hope they do well against your team makes it seem like you would rather see him do well (rather than hoping your team succeeds without him). I must of misunderstood you, but I see where you're coming from. I have nothing against Lavar (actually he's one of my favorite players) and I hope he does well, but when he plays against us, I hope we run all over him and beat the shit out of his team. |
Re: Just Great!!
You guys are all aruging over stupid stuff. There is no blame to be put on LaVar, heck we are luck that he even stayed with us this season. If any of you all have been to training camp, you know that LaVar is the first one there to sign autographs, and the last one leaving. No not Portis, Taylor, or Springs, all those guys stay far away from us fans. It was LaVar, leave the man alone. If he wants to play for a NFC East team so be it, I wish him the best of luck. You can't compare LaVar to other players like Trotter, bc Trotter did not have nearly the effect LaVar did on the organization. It is the coaching and onwership that took LaVar out of DC, not him. I am sick and tired of fans bad mouthing LaVar, after all he has done for us. It is easy to complain, instead of really understanding his situation. His stay as a Redskin was constantly surrounded by drama, and eventually it takes a toll. Other Redskin greats like Art Monk and Brian Mitchell played the rest of the careers for other NFC East teams and they are still loved, so why we look at this in the same way. Give LaVar the respect he deserves.

I dont know if its a good thing for you, but I am totally on board with you. I always get bashed for my "man crush" on LaVar. So get ready for some trash talking. |
Re: Just Great!!
I believe this is another "forest for the trees" moment.
Many of you are arguing details when it seems the consensus is that everyone wishes LaVar well and hopes that he doesn't play for Dallas and hopes he doesn't do well when he plays us. Wouldn't that about sum it up? |
Re: Just Great!!
My whole argument is that LAVAR was my favorite player in the NFL. I loved to see him in the game and when he's in the game anything can happen. I was in denial when all of the rumors were floating around saying that the skins would get rid of him or he would leave the skins, in the back of my mind I truly thought (or was just hoping) that something would get worked out. Well it didn't and i was crushed when I saw that he left. I was so pissed with the Skins, but I told myself that I would continue to root for Lavar. The problem is when I saw that he wants to stay in the NFC EAST I consider it a slap in the face to the fans that he said he loved so much. If he's in the East I will continuously root against him, if he is outside of the East I will root for him. Yes, I wish he was still hear, I just pray Taylor doesn't go to jail, so we will still have him as a play maker.
|
Re: Just Great!!
Just remember LaVar made it very clear he wanted to come back to FedEx because he loved it and the fans. NOT to take it to the Redskins (which he undoubtedly would want to do, even if it was a non-NFC East team).
|
Re: Just Great!!
Well I say GOODBYE LaVar Go to the E-gals and to the Giants You think your going to get a Super Bowl with these team before the Redskins do!
:point: HAIL TO THE REDSKINS :point: |
Re: Just Great!!
I haven't bad mouthed Lavar at all. If anything I've been quiet about the whole issue. I was just asking #56fanatic a question. I wasn't trying to be dick or anything.
I do wish Lavar well, and I hope he succeeds with his new team. |

You're correct, and had the Redskins listened to Ray Rhodes when he initially described LaVar they would not have given him that huge contract. He's just another player in the league now and we shouldn't really concern ourselves with where he goes or who he plays with. It's time for us to turn our attention to the players we have, who is going to be here and be Redskins. I personally am a fan of the team and not any one player. We have spent too much time already gloryfying a player who no longer needs gloryfication. LaVar is a DONE DEAL, I'm sure all his individual fans wish him the best of luck because he's going to need it. |
Re: Just Great!!
unforutnately, it seems like leaving washington is what it takes to make lavar realize his potential. kind of like i feel ramsey will turn out
|
Re: Just Great!!
see normally i wouldn't want a player from the skins to go to a rival nfc beast team. I don't want our strategies and our playbook getting out like it did with antonio pierce.
The thing is, we don't need to worry about any of that because lavar was to dumb to pick up on any defensive system anyways. My first lavar insult. He is still the man though. |
Re: Just Great!!
unforutnately, it seems like leaving washington is what it takes to make lavar realize his potential. kind of like i feel ramsey will turn out
So you think Ramsey will go to another team and throw twice as many interceptions?
|
Re: Just Great!!
I think the Redskins had to let him go and get the cap room. But, I still think he'll be a force (even if many have forgotten how he used to be). Sure, Arrington was often out of position and didn't fit well within Lewis or Williams' schemes, but he'll do real well with a change of scenery. I guess I don't understand why people act like the guy isn't valuable.
As for Ramsey, who knows. He could be medicore somewhere else, or fantastic. I don't think anyone should be ready to write the book on him (good or bad). |
Re: Just Great!!
So you think Ramsey will go to another team and throw twice as many interceptions?
HA thats funny. and no, he wont he'll have a chanec to start over. you cant say in his relief appearance this year that he played poorly, nor can you say that from the one game he played during hte beginning of the year |
Re: Just Great!!
I would love to see him sign with the Giants, I hope he blows thier cap out of the water like he did us, then we can run misdirection at him constantly when we play them and enjoy big play after big play, while the likes of Robert Royal lock him down in pass protection, Lavar is a legend in name only.
|
Re: Just Great!!
I must admit that I got really upset after reading Nunyo's article on SI.com. I know that despite everything, Arrington loved being a Redskin. I know many cynics among us doubt how much he loved the team. But, according to everyone close to Arrington, he loved the team, it's history, the fans, the city, and the people. That is why he is going to continue to keep his home here and why he says he will still be a Washingtonian.
It had to be, but I'm still upset about it. |

relax... they just signed shawn barber... they won't sign lavar as well. my guess is he ends up in new york or inthe afc |
Re: Just Great!!
Lavar is a legend in name only.
I don't think he's reached legendary status in fact or name. Was he overrated at one point? Yeah. Is he probably underrated now? Yeah. Just because he isn't the best player at his position doesn't mean he isn't a damn good player. That 10 teams are interested in his services (more than you can say for any other free agent) says the market seems to think he's a pretty good player. It was once popular to praise him. Now it's fashionable to knock him. Sorry, but he's still a good player. Anyone who thinks otherwise is probably going to be surprised next season. Ahhh ... what short memories we have. |
Re: Just Great!!
The Eagles just signed Shawn Barber, which should lower the chances of them gettin Lavar

It's not a dick move, it's his decision. He's allowed to play where he so desires. |
