Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
Some sources are indicating that, pending a physical, the Giants will sign Sam Madison. I wonder a.) how big the contract will be, and b.) will it leave room to sign Arrington?
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
I would think CB is more of a priority than LB.
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
madison isn't getting nearly ty law money, so they'll be fine to sign lavar if they want.
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
i still have the feeling itll be the eagles. unless lavar takes a huge pay cut i TRULY dont think hes going anywhere in the NFC East unless a team is willing to break the bank for him.
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
If I'm correct Lavar is currently free to sign at any time. If there was such a big demand for him I have not heard of him traveling to any teams to meet with them.

You honestly believe he's not going to be sought after? Well see if the market agrees. Perhaps there won't be a market for him. But, the way I see it right now, he'll command a hefty signing bonus of somewhere around $7 million (making him one of the bigger free agent signings). |
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
Back to Sam Madison ... I hope the Giants sign him and overpay for him. I like the idea of competitors eating up their cap space with high-profile, aging, and over-priced free agents.

Eagles signed Barber. The Giants are his best bet if he wants to visit us once a year. |

Good for them. They will only give up 120 yards and two tds to Moss. |

Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
i sure hope they do sign him, looks like NY is trying to make a SB run NOW rather than later.
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
too bad NY's QB i still pretty average and their big WR get is MIA in big games.

Giants Make The Deal!!!!!!!
GIANT Make it so today by signing Madison to a four year deal for 7.4 million!

Yeah, I saw that. It was actually a pretty good deal for the G-men. Madison got less than $2 million in guaranteed money, right? |
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
giants won that deal... blast, yaar.
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
LaVar will be signed by another team. Maybe not the money LaVar wants, but he'll be on another team.

I was going to say the same thing, they got him for cheap, plus locked him up for four years. We could used him as nickel back. Lost out on a great CB. |
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
Madison is a huge upgrade over Will Allen.

Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
THEY MIGHT OF GOOTEN MADISON BUT I'M NOT SURE OF ARRINGTON ACCORDING TO ARTICLE.

"They had expressed an interest and Miami is a great place to live and play football," Poston said. "I think they need a linebacker, especially since they released Junior (Seau). That's all I know so far." |
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
It looks as though the contract was a decent sized one. I can't see LaVar ending up there now.
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
LaVar to Miami is interesting...
He's going to have no problem finding a new home that's for sure. |
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
At Least We Wouldn't Have To See Him Twice A Year.

Yeah. As a Redskins fan I hate to see Will go. Moss could have lived off that matchup for years. |
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
Arrington will end up as a Brown!!! You heard it here!!!

That wouldn't surprise me at all. In other LaVar news, he's scheduled to meet with the Giants Monday I believe, and interestingly enough the Chargers have said no thank you to LaVar's services. |
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
I like that signing for the Giants. High Profile, aging DB for big bucks...probably has lost a step...go right ahead, line him up accross from Moss, I dare you!!
|
Re: Giants Set to Sign Sam Madison?
They need to beef up the secondary to try to shutdown Moss and Co.
