you started at 2 in the first round

pretty good :)

round 3 font is a bit too small ;)

also you have charlie whitehurst going to two different teams in the 3rd round (72 cards, and 80 dallas) and max-jean gilles going at pick 31 (colts) and again in the 2nd round (42 cards).

what does anyone know about the linebacker from miami?

That Guy 03-29-2006 03:31 PM

Re: 3 Round Mock

Roger McIntosh, OLB, Miami

Name: Roger McIntosh
College: Miami Number: 50
Height: 6-2 Weight: 237
Position: OLB Pos2: ILB
Class/Draft Year: Sr/2006
40 Time: 4.63
Projected Round: 3 Stock:
Rated number 8 out of 146 OLB's 89 / 1746 TOTAL

Combine Invite? Yes
Height: 6021
Weight: 237
40 Yrd Dash: 4.63
20 Yrd Dash: 2.72
10 Yrd Dash: 1.61
Wonderlic:
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 18
Vertical Jump: 41 1/2
Broad Jump: 9'11"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.20
3-Cone Drill: 7.32

JR - 10 games/9 starts, 111 tackles, 13 for loss, 4 sacks, 8 hurries, 1 forced fumble

SO - 12 games/0 starts, 23 tackles, 1 for loss

FR - 12 games/6 starts, 43 tackles, 8 for loss, 1 forced fumble

Strengths:
Outstanding athletic ability...Has great speed and quickness with a burst to close...Can make plays sideline-to-sideline due to his range...Playmaker who is always around the action...Good tackler...Has a knack for making stops behind the line of scrimmage...Versatile...A leader on and off the field...Hard worker who is smart and mature...Has some upside if he can stay healthy and on the field.

Weaknesses:
Inconsistent and doesn't always play up to his talent...Takes bad angles...Is only average in coverage...Needs to get stronger...Relies heavily on his athleticism to recover from mistakes...Can be too aggressive at times...Has dealt with knee, shoulder and back injuries...Does not really have a ton of starting experience.

Notes:
Could project to either outside or inside linebacker at the pro level...The recent success of other Miami linebackers such as Jonathan Vilma and D.J. Williams in the NFL sure won't hurt his cause...Seemingly has all the physical tools you look for.

ive always wondered. we talk about "athleticism", what EXACLTY is it? they say he's weak, but yet athletic. just a weird saying if strong and fast is not what it means.

that's what everyone tends to say after reading any draft notes :/

his aren't bad, but he's a bit of a stretch in the 2nd round. He's not a great gaurantee to come in and start right away because of his limited playing time at Miami. He did step up when he started though, so long term he should be okay.

TheMalcolmConnection 03-29-2006 04:06 PM

As far as I'm concerned, there's no REAL "If he's there we should take him" player that will be available when we pick.

Re: 3 Round Mock

there's always a chance a guy like cromartie etc could fall. I'd prefer spencer to mcintosh myself at that spot (then our OL depth would be REALLY solid, even if doc leaves next year), but that might leave a gaping hole at ROLB...

For some reason I keep calling him Rocky. No idea why.

I fixed the errors in the mock draft. Not the number problem, it auto numbers it for me. Apparently not very well.

Re: 3 Round Mock

There's a twelve million roster bonus due to brees before next season (2007). The question is not who the 2nd pick in the draft will be, it's who will make that pick.

Luckily, this is a mock draft, so I don't have to answer that:)

I may add mock trades at a later date. I do think if the Saints stay at 2, they take Leinart. I doubt they will stay tho.

I dont see them taking Leinart, they just lost Bently and I think that they will take D'Brick. They have a QB that should be there for years to come and there o-line is no real treat...

I don't know, what ever the value chart or the teams agree to. even a 3rd round pick would be fine if they still got who they wanted (since it'd be a high 3rd).

If I'm a top 5 pick team and I need offensive line help I'm trading that first round pick for more picks.

GTripp0012 03-30-2006 09:54 AM

Re: 3 Round Mock
how else do they get leinhart?
I think that's a real bad situation for Leinart. They have no line, Coles and no one at WR, Martin is a year away from retiring, they are switching to the 3-4, and are completely unprepared rosterwise to do so (although they signed Von olhoeffen), and were weak in the secondary, even under Herm. I think you'd be setting the guy up for failure, even if you don't play him right away, not to mention what it would cost them to trade up 2 picks.

They have Pennington and Ramsey, I believe they should build around those guys.

TheMalcolmConnection 03-30-2006 09:57 AM

Re: 3 Round Mock

Like I said, trade down. The "top picks" this year really aren't worth the top pick in my opinion. Most of the teams that are getting the top picks have such gaping holes elsewhere, they should stock pile picks. Maybe trade down late into the first and second.

GTripp0012 03-30-2006 10:37 AM

Re: 3 Round Mock

Hey, if they can find a trading partner, I'm all for it.

TheMalcolmConnection 03-30-2006 10:47 AM

Re: 3 Round Mock

You'd think there would be quite a few teams that have ONE hole rather than many that would be willing to trade down. Say a team needs an RB and is set pretty much everywhere else, they trade down and pick up Bush or Williams.

That Guy 03-30-2006 04:45 PM

Re: 3 Round Mock

D'Br and MW are the safest bets to perform at high levels, and those positions (#1 DE w/ strong pass rushing ability and brick wall LT) are two of the hardest to get. Superstar QB trumps both, but QBs are almost never safe bets.

I'd never waste a top ten pick on a RB though, the difference in production just isn't that great over lower round picks compared to other positions (and the lifespan of a RB is generally terrible).

I don't really have a great grasp of who's coming out this year. I would have paid more attention if I didn't have so much other stuff going on with my school, but mainly, the reason I don't care that much is because the Skins don't have a 1. It's hard to project all the way into the 2nd round. Someone might go crazy and take a guy way too high, or some people's stock might drop cause of something crazy, so I don't put much stock into mocks. However, I have to say that is impressive that someone was able to write out a 3 round mock. Bravo.

when he moved to RT he did a lot better. still he'll be an nfl starter (if only an average to above average one) from day one till 2016. ryan leaf didn't last nearly as long... the other thing is judging guys by rookie seasons isn't a great idea... MOST guys look bad their first year, merrimans and such aside.
