Bills | Team in a fighting mood (Bowen/Royal)

Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills players engaged in two fights at minicamp Saturday, April 8. S Matt Bowen and RB Lionel Gates got into it. Bowen facemasked Gates to the ground, but Gates appeared to shove Bowen's facemask up into his chin and nicked him. Three other players were needed to separate them. Meanwhile TE Robert Royal and DL Chris Kelsay got into a shoving match. After practice was over, head coach Dick Jauron spoke to the team and stated the need to discipline themselves. He said if something gets heated they have to have the discipline to walk away because they need everybody on this roster healthy, and beating each other up in the spring is not an option.

glad to see they're playing nice and making a good first impression.

thats great. Both of the skins are disgruntled. Royal is such a nice guy though. O well, can you blaim them? Who would want to play for the bills anyway?

the bills are so screwed this year

This is kind of interesting. Could it be that our ex-skins want to win and play hard and tough as they were coached last year vs. a new team that is soft and going thru the motions?

Could be. Of course it could also be that they aren't what Joe Gibbs would consider true Redskins and thats the reason their in Buffalo and not Ashburn.

Who cares...the Bills offensive line is about 1400 pounds of p*ssy. At least someone is getting in there and being tough, I hope these guys do well in B'lo.

if Dick Jauron is your head coach, you'd wanna punch something too. He's a douchebag.

Maybe a little bit of physicality is what they needed in Buffalo

Pissed they are gonna miss out on the Super Bowl rings next season. O well. I feel bad for Ryan Clark. I heard on Sirius today that the Steelers were looking at a starting safety, so Clark may be back to being a backup. Wish we coulda kept him

Bowen was always the toughest guy on the field Monday through Saturday. He needs to translate that agression to Sundays for the Bills' sake.

for some reason every time he got too aggresive in a game,he got hurt

I was sorry to see Bowen go

Bowen back to his old tricks again. Unfortunately, I rather had kept him around than signing his game clone (Archuleta) to a blockbuster contract.

Interesting that the Bills are Gregg Williams former team. They got rid of him, and Bledsoe and now Moulds. The Cardinals of the East!

Not me. He was a bozo. A ferocious, cheap-shot artist in practice, and a buffoon on Sundays.

Talk about overpaying... that contract the Bills gave Royal was NUTS.

Royal was a decent TE for us, and although I wasn't happy to see him go I didn't feel any real sadness once we replaced him. I wish him the best but I don't miss him that much.
As for Bowen, yeah he could hit but his coverage was a little suspect. Yeah he had a few good games, but he also gave up too many plays. I would rather have had Ryan Clark -who was a true blue collar kind of guy- making the money that Bowen was getting to stay on the sidelines.

Same here. Even though I think our Archuleta signing will be huge.

Royal had impressive numbers at LSU but for some reason he didn't translate that production to the next level.
We regret the fact we didn't get more out of Bowen because he came as restricted and cost us a pick. He's mainly remembered here for the hit he put on Trung in practice. I happened to be at Redskin Park that day, everyone was looking for good things from him. The knee injury sort of derailed his career here.

Hahaha, it always made me cringe watching that. The one time I met him he was a really cool guy. Good luck to him in Buffalo, but they totally overpaid.

Re: Bills | Team in a fighting mood (Bowen/Royal)

yeah when i met him after the opener last year against da bears he told us all to call him redzone royal. I told him the nickname fit the character. You have to remember the year before he had 5 TDs in 5 games or something like that. I asked him if he had a dance like he did the year before and he said he had been working on something better. I think he scored a TD in the seahawks game and it was the worst dance i had ever seen. It was some robot shit. The camara didn't even point at him
