Friday (April 14) is Redskins Day on NFL Network
Friday on the NFL Network, starting at noon eastern they will be honoring the Redskins.. Showing games of the week from last year (vs. Eagles & playoff game vs. Bucs), an NFL Films production Hail to the Redskins, a game of the week from 2003, other programming as well. NFL Net does a lot of replays so if you don't catch it early in the day they will loop the programming.. Set your TIVOs!

Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
Well it's about time. Every time I tune in to the NFL Network, they showcase every other team except the Redskins.
My DVR will be fired up! |

LOL! I think the answer to that is somehow connected to the answer to question 3. |
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
I still record mine on papyrus.
|
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
I heard the Skins were going to be the focus of ESPN's draft two a days on Thursday. I could barely make it out, I was watching Cowboy highlights and started puking when they said something about Parcells and year 4. Didn't they say the same thing about him and year 3?
Good looking on the NFL Network. I'm new to DirecTV and I thought they were going to show that Pitt-Jax game for the entire offseason. Will they show the slo-mo spitting replay? |
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network

Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network

Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
I'm sure many of you have seen it, but the "Lost Treasures" thing about George Allen is the best Redskins Film they've made, IMO. It's one of their best period. I believe it's called "Three Cheers for the Redskins" and features a lot of outtakes from Allen's first training camp as well as current interviews with people like Diron Talbert, Roy Jefferson, and Speedy Duncan, among many others.
Watch Roy Jefferson panic when he gets stung by a bee in the RFK locker room. |
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
Good Friday? no, I proclaim it GREAT FRIDAY!
|
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
Wow. George Allen was crazy.

Notice the sign on the practice facility that reads 'the redskins' (also has the indian head logo) you can see the same sign anytime at fedex field on the outside of the stadium near the ticket windows. |
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
I was watching the 'Game of the Week' from 2003 and let's talk about how far we've come.. Some of the names playing KEY roles in that game:
Trung Candidate Lennie Friedman Darrell Russell (RIP) Patrick Johnson Peppi Zellner David Terrell Ifayeni Ohalete John Simon (was the 2nd string HB that day) Bruce Smith Regan Upshaw Hue Jackson called the plays, George Edwards was the defensive coordinator.. It's so much better to be a Redskins fan now! :httr: |
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
How many of us are going to watch Hail to the Redskins on the NFL network at 8 (ET)? It's an NFL films presents, but because it's primetime, I think it's brand new.

Hey man...Trung was a quality pickup...lmao

Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
i basically watched nfl network since noon. I really enjoyed it, and i learned some things about the redskins old days. I learned about 70 chip and the john riggins play in the superbowl against miami. It was pretty great. I wish we had that kind of offensive firepower that we had then.

I do. Take the VHS player and drop it out of the closest window. |

It's so much better to be a Redskins fan now! :httr:[/QUOTE] Reminds me of a classic Peppi vs. Bruce Smith anecdote. Bruce Smith and Peppi Zellner had to be separated at practice one time after the two got into a heated argument -- that nearly turned physical. Zellner at one point in practice said something to Smith along the lines of, "Why don't you just get your sack, so you can finally retire." Smith then fired back by asking Zellner how many sacks he has had in his career, which is obviously nearly 200 less than Smith's total. Smith also said Zellner could put his best years together and Smith's worst years are still more impressive. Zellner then hit below the belt by insisting the only reason Smith is still on the roster is because he is social with owner Snyder. Smith fired back by agreeing with the younger player, then saying all he had to do is place one call to that same owner and Zellner would be kyboshed as a 'Skin. At that point, Zellner told Mr. Sacks he's ready to take on the old man. Smith wanted to oblige and teammates jumped in. Thanks Paintrain. I thought I'd never get to bring up Peppi on the Warpath! |
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
I have to say I side with Peppi on this one, I was never a big B. Smith fan especially at the end. It's so obvious he was just after the record, more power to him, but he just came off selfish to me.

Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
taped the nfl game of the week, just got finished watching, nfl films rocks, the camera angles and commentary cant be beat, portis got hammered that game,he took some viscous shots,no wonder he wasnt up to par for the seattle game, and the camera angle on taylors fumble recovery was great,I never realized he scooped the ball up with one hand

Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
best day ever in a long time.
|
Re: Friday is Redskins Day on NFL Network
I'm thinking I'm the only person here who used a VCR to record the 'Skins day. :D
