Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
seeing the contracts numbers it shows me that lloyd wants to stay on the skins for the full length of his contract. it is a very modest contract, what was his signing bonus?
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Doesn't say. There may not be one, but most likely its in the 3-5 million range.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Lets hope Lloyd works out in our favor. I think he will but you never know.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
theres probably like $10 million in bonus money
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
I'm guessing 8-10 million in bonus. Which would put the contract at 7 years, 30-32 million.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Looks like a great deal for the Skins
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Looks pretty good...you produce, you get paid. Simple as that.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
that contract is definitely set up in favor of the skins.great job by the front office.who actually negotiates the contracts anyway?
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
$10-14mill bonus, putting it at $27.2-31mill total.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Yup, force him to play well and develop and THEN you get paid. Screw all these people saying we overpay for people. If we don't like him, cut him.
Yup, force him to play well and develop and THEN you get paid. Screw all these people saying we overpay for people. |
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
It's just to have something to bitch about. As long as we don't ever REALLY enter the "cap hell" they've always predicted, keep on "overpaying", we'll deal.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Wow, the base salary aren't big. This looks like a cap friendly contract. Way to go FO.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Yeah, the good thing is, he's GOT to know if he doesn't perform, he won't get that cash.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Yeah, the good thing is, he's GOT to know if he doesn't perform, he won't get that cash.
he will be huge for us this year. i kinda think of him as ricky sanders. anyone else?
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
I would venture to say that if he doesn't do the trademark drops that the 9ers fans hated him for.
|
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
I think he is an enormous pickup...he's been the guy Ive been clamoring for since the end of last season. Looks like a very managable contract as well, which just makes me all the happier!

Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
the washington times is only reporting 5 yrs. 25 mil

Luckily for him, Alex Smith won't be throwing those wobbly duck passes to him any more. I think he'll work out nicely. Besides, he won't have the pressure of trying to help the team singlehandedly like he did in SF. He has plenty of help here. Most of his drops were probably from looking at the end zone before catching the ball. San Fran didn't get close to the end zone very much, so he got anxious and didn't look the ball in. That's my theory. I've seen clips of some GREAT plays by Lloyd. He's no Rod Gardner. |

I mean people in the media have been downplaying the Lloyd signing, I guess b/c of his numbers. But look who is passing the ball. I think this will be his breakout year he will probably get about 60 balls and like 7 TD's Im guessing. But if you look at his most important aspect, its his speed against Dallas secondary. WHOA |

It takes a special man to post a 8.5 QB rating. (Week 5 vs. Colts, Smith was 9 for 23 passing, 74 yds, 4 INTs and 5 sacks for -30 yds! 8.5 rating). I have NEVER seen that low of a rating. His season QB rating was 40.8! 1 TD, 11 INTs in 9 games! 29 sacks too. They sacks aren't ALL his fault...but he could try running or throwing the ball away instead of to a defender. |

Wow...I looked it up. 6 for 26, 56 yds, 4 INTs, sacked 1 time for 4 yd loss. Looks a LOT like Smith's line...except for the lack of sacks. Hasselbeck actually netted more yards when you factor in sacks. :D That's BAD!!!!!!! I wonder how many 0.0 rating games there have been ever. |
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Can't find anything on that, but I do see that Kordell Stewart had THREE of them in 2004 and 2005...the only 3 games he played...ALL 0.0 rating games!

man you beat me to the punch and there has been another vs Dallas that psoted also 0.0 I can't remmember right now but I'll look it up. It looks more of a 3 year deal for Lloyd the 4th is #1 or Glenn (#2) type of money I believe if he produces above level i nthe first 2 years he will restructure his contract. |

Randel El is a better version of Kordell. He'll be our emergency QB. We ran the option pass so well with Portis...now they'll have to watch out for Portis AND Randel El to pass it. I love this. :) |
Re: Redskins | Contract update: B. Lloyd
Gibbs said on redskins.comtv yesterday during the press conference that it was a seven year deal. End of story
