Well, we got soemthing for him... We knew he was a gonner. Don't know much about Rumph, but he's from the U. Another SF castoff.

I don't like the fact that we have so many former 49ers, that makes me queesy.

That is weird, isn't it? So long as they don't give us back Nolan or Norval

God, if he thought Lloyd gave up during games just wait till he gets a load of TJ

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

Well cya TJ, its been a vex-filled ride. Its good now, people like farris and espy have a better shot at making the team. Rumph adds some DB depth which we also need. Honestly I would have taken like a 6th rounder for jacobs so im looking at this as a nice move

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

From 49ers.com --
Jacobs (6’0, 198) was a second-round draft pick in 2003 and in three seasons with the Redskins he played in 38 games with seven starts, totaling 30 catches.

“He’s in the middle of being a speed guy versus a possession guy,” said Nolan. “He was a high pick. Steve Spurrier coached him and was extremely high on him as a player. He caught an awful lot of balls in college and when Spurrier was in Washington, he was pretty active in the things they did. He’s a good football player and I’m anxious to see how he fits into the group we have.”
He should fit in with the 49ers quite well.

If he can come back from those nasty mosquito bites, that is.

TAF, you need to get on the horn with the bosses and tell that that this MNF game is 1 min. in and I already hate that score box that they are using.

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

We have finally wiped the poo of Spurrier off our hands. 100% all Joe all is well.

No kidding. Why can't we go back to the days when you had to wait for a commercial break to find out what the score is? After all, there are commercial breaks every three or four minutes or so.

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

Now what is the deal with 24 Mike Rumph, did he lose his starting job the past two years or was he injured?????

Just an even trade no picks, cash????
This seems a bit weak, yes/no???????

Rexi 08-14-2006 08:19 PM

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

This was a good trade for both parties i think. Not that it really matters, Jacobs won't make the roster and I would be very surprised if Rumph makes it with the 'Skins. I pretty much gave up on Rumph after the 3rd quarter of Friday's game. Bust for a bust.

ArtMonkDrillz 08-14-2006 08:20 PM

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

I didn't mind the new bar that Fox is using, except for the 4 dots indicating the quarter b/c those all look the same color on my crappy tv. But this one is just annoying, plus, I won't be able to see it if I'm scrolling through the on screen menu searching for soft-core porn...I mean, other games.

Back to TJ, does this mean that he will start? Can Alex "Carney Hands" Smith get the ball to him?

Hog's Breath 08-14-2006 08:21 PM

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

Art I didn't even notice that thing until I read your post. Now I can't stop looking at it. How annoying.

Glad TJ is gone. What is up with us drafting receivers? We can't seem to get a good one.

So at first half of the team was from the Jets. Now we're 49'ers.

Guess it's safe to say a one or two DB's will be cut first.

This seems a bit weak, yes/no???????
He broke his arm early in the 2004 season and tore his plantar fascia early last year. Nolan tried him at FS and he failed miserably so we moved him back to CB this year. After last weeks game he showed he couldn't tackle and I knew his days were numbered.

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

sorry rexi, but just dropping him may have been the best bet.

TJ finds new and innovative ways of being bad.

Rumph was a disappointing, oft injured 1st round draft pick for the Niners. Considering the way Kenny Wright performed last night, Rumph was worth a try -- especially when we only had to give up a wussified, no-talent putz like Taylor Jacobs to get him.

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

I'll mention the scoreboard to the powers that be, I know they're trying different things out so it's entirely out of the realm of possibility it will be different next week.

I don't work on NFL so I can't make any promises

As for the trade, just two disappointments in desperate need of a change of scenery.

Way to raise the Bar TJ, I look forward to your streak continuiing now turn in your playbook and get the hell out.

Mike Rumph is another Miami Univ. Product. I think the winner of the Super Bowl in Miami will be determined by who has the most U players by season end, Skins may just be the leader period.

Don't think. So let me get this straight... The Redskins basically traded their 6th or 7th wideout (who is injured and was going to be dropped) for a guy who started in your defensive secondary the last 3 years. Sounds fair to me. Vinny Cerato bent you over. HA HA HA HA HA HA

If I were you I would pretend that this site never existed. Your team is pathetic.

I would if he showed any kind of maturity when he left. Lloyd doesn't need a change of scenery he needs a change of character.

Hopefully TJ works out for you guys. I honestly hope he does well. I'm just saying all the hope in the world doesn't change the fact that every year he chokes. He doesn't have the competitive attitude. He doesn't mesh well in any system. He's Spurriers baby, and quite frankly, thats not a good omen.

Lol yeah we were that bad. If he makes your roster you definitly have some depth issues. BOTTOMLINE=Neither one of these guys is making their rosters so this trade is kind of moot. Both these guys were holdovers from previous regimes and their coaches were tired of dealing with their oft injured asses. If you wanna see Rumph in whiffing action watch the re-air of the Niners/ Bears game tomorrow on NFL network.

Pathetic? We got 2 draft picks for Brandon Lloyd. Brandon freaking Lloyd. A 3rd and a 4th next year. That was the trade of the decade right there...

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded

why does something so right feel wrong? BYE BYE TJ. Finally. I can't believe that the niner fans think that we got someone that they wanted to get rid of. They need to understand it has been seasons and the fans wanted him off this team. It isn't just a normal piece of trash. This piece of trash has history here. He was going to get cut. Niner fans need to understand that they got someone that was going to be on the street next week.

With that said, TJ is going to make that team adn be good for them.
