Looks like this kid is a fist class eff up.
I'm sooo friggin tired of these young thugs tearing down the image of the NFL. What's funny is these guys make Sean Taylor look okay. |
Re: Pacman Arrested
I RARELY pull the race card, and this is going to sound VERY wewhite3 of me, but if this guy were white, would you call him a thug?
I've just noticed that over the years and just wanted to bring it up today. |
Re: Pacman Arrested
I would. If someone like arch was to go around getting arrested every month on pretty bad counts he would be a "thug".
I guess pacman was just making noise outside a bar. Could happen to anyone so i don't think this is a huge deal |
Re: Pacman Arrested
Race has nothing to do with this kid being a complete moron. Since when did you have to be black to be a thug?
|
Re: Pacman Arrested
Sweet. Glad to know it isn't a race thing. It just seems to me when a white guy gets busted, he's just an asshole, but when a black guy gets busted, he's a "thug".
Excellent. wewhite3 would you give guys a big thumbs up! |
Re: Pacman Arrested
It's funny how so many of us were so high on this kid when he was in the draft. Glad we ended up with Carlos Rodgers aren't you?
|
Re: Pacman Arrested
Nice sig GIGgity. That's a quarter ton of man the defense would be facing.

I've just noticed that over the years and just wanted to bring it up today.
Interesting point. I think 'thug' is relegated to African-American athletes in general. Honestly, and I'm speaking for myself, I generally never speak of white athletes in those terms. And from what I've read here from other members, white athletes are generally considered, stupid, moron, idiot, a..hole, knucklehead, but rarely thug. |

Nice effort dude! I can always count on you for a laugh. |
Re: Pacman Arrested
Do you guys think that cops these days "get hard-ons" arresting athletes and actors? It seems to me that back in the day you would hear stories about high profile people getting cut loose buy the cops when they did something wrong. Now every other day an athlete or actor is getting a DWI or a DIP, I personnaly find it hilarious we put these guys up on pedistoles but they are just morons like the rest of us, but they have a ton of cash.

Right, we have to learn that you can never put the pussy on a pedestal. Seriously though, wouldn't you LOVE to bust a celebrity as a cop? Imagine this...you see a black Ferrari swerving in and out of traffic, acting like they don't give a damn about the law or the people around them. You catch up to this Ferrari and find out it's some jackass celebrity who has been drinking. It would be great to knock someone down a peg or two to show them they aren't above the law. |

I'm not being an ass***, but please produce a post where someone, anyone, calls him a thug - and I'll shut up. I can remember numerous posts referrring to Sean Taylor as such, PacMan, Ray Lewis, and few others as thugs. |

I'm guessing it's because of all the rap lyrics. |
Re: Pacman Arrested
Pacman tried to flee the cops by running across the street. But he kept having to stop and start and move left to right to avoid the cars as they drove by. The big ape on the roof of the bar throwing barrels at him didn't help either. Cops lured him back by dropping pellets on the ground that Pacman chomped on as he eventually found himself back in front of the bar.
That's all the video game analogies I can think of at the moment |

Re: Pacman Arrested
Whats the big deal. I be ticked and yelling if I thought some girl had set me up to get my wallet stollen. The cops did not investigate that but arrested him when he would not stop yelling. What would you do say OK officer someone took my wallet but thats OK. I won't be upset and you guys have a nice day. I'll be on my way its only money and all my credit cards. Night Night Officers and thanks for all of your hard work!

Re: Pacman Arrested
I could go on, two Italian plumbers in overalls were seen fleeing the scene kicking turtle shells along the way. Things got dicey when Pacman ate a flower and start spitting balls of fire at the woman....and so on
Seriously, the Titans are arguably my second favorite team so it sort of sucks that Adam Jones is constantly in the news for all the wrong reasons |
Re: Pacman Arrested
Just for the record, the word "thug" originates from India. Here is its origin information from this site: BBC - Religion & Ethics - Thugs
The English word thug, meaning a violent criminal, comes from the Hindi word thag (and originally from the Sanskrit word sthaga), meaning a thief or villain. The original Thugs were bands of roving criminals in India who strangled and robbed travellers. Originally these gangs committed murder following precise religious rites to honour Kali, the Hindu goddess of destruction. The crime was known as Thuggee, and although it involved a Hindu goddess, there were Muslim Thugs as well. In the 19th century Thugs were strangling 40,000 people a year but by then many cases of Thuggee were straightforward robbery with no religious significance. Looks like the hip-hop culture took it on as their own but I can remember that a thug was just any hoodlum black/white, Jew/Gentile. In my book Romanowski is a classic thug. |

I've just noticed that over the years and just wanted to bring it up today.
Good call on the race card but I would call him a criminal and if he was white perhaps it would be a wanna be thug. Thank you Joe Gibbs for seeing that this guy is piece of work. I was so high on him before the draft and upset that we didn't get him. This is one of the many reasons why I make it a point to not question Joe ever. |

Its sad b/c I like Pacman- his talent will be among the best of the younger guys its sad they have all the advantages but cant leave the hood behind. However, has anyone been out drinking ? Its nearly impossible to not cross path with some idiot/s that need to be dealt with. |

No, being polite to the police won't get you anywhere, it's much better to yell and rant until *you* are the one that gets arrested. That's much more effective and smart. [/sarcasm] How about calmly explaining why you are upset, maybe then they will actually help you. There is plenty of room between being belligerent and being the pushover described by firstdown. And for those who say "But he was drunk!!!1!",that's why getting drunk in public, especially as a celebrity, is a bad idea. Being drunk doesn't give anyone the right to act like an ass, just extra ability. |
Re: Pacman Arrested
I thought everyone knew only black people can be labeled "Thug" and the word "Punk" is reserved for whitey a.k.a. "The Man."
|
Re: Pacman Arrested
I don't want to belabor the point. But growing up in D.C. during the 80s I think I had a pretty good grasp, however skewed it was, and perception on what certain people are/were referred to and so forth. Again, I'm basing this on my own personal experience. Most of you that know me, would probably say 12th is as cool as they come:)
I don't think I've ever referred to a white guy as a thug here or anywhere else. I'm just speaking for myself here. Also, generally speaking it is reserved for African American athletes, and sometimes, African Americans in general. I didn't make the rules, I just know what I've seen and heard over the years. Dave Chappelle kind of touched on this in one of his brialliant comedic moments. |

I've just noticed that over the years and just wanted to bring it up today.
Definition of thug: A brutal ruffian or ganster. I see no reference to a black man in that definition. It is the ACTIONS of the player that make him a thug, not his skin color. Sheesh. |
