Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
Sucks for the Chargers. Foley needs to learn when he's had enough to drink.

Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
This guy must have been on drugs to keep going after the cop like that.
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
Ummm...
I went to school in Coronado and I know a dispatcher for the Coronado Police department; I honestly think this is race related. Why was an off duty police officer pulling someone over in his own personal car without backup? Why would he fallow him for a significant amount of time without calling it in? I hope im dead wrong. There are alot of good cops in the CPD that dont need this associated with them. Would you pullover for someone at 3am who isnt in uniform or in a car with a siren? |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
Really??, thought the people had no problem about handing over liberties and freedom. Well dont worry Im sure this will disappear from your consciousness and be diverted soon enough. Just keep looking away from what is going on under everyones noses.
Coronado naval base ,Calif. hmmmh, nope dismiss that too. Wake up. http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/6040/navalswastikacalinn6.jpg |

Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
I have to be honest if you aren't in a marked car and you are a cop don't get mad when people don't want to pull over. You better call back up immediately. Alot of freaks go around pulling people over with fake badges in umarked vehicle and rob them and rape women and shit.
Cops need to realize times have changed and you aren't ricardo tubbs so call back up and don't do this. It pretty much makes the police dept look like shit. It wasn't like he was robbing a store he was at most driving drunk. Now you have a PR cluster fuck trying to explain why you shot a great linebacker who did not have a gun. |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
all i know is, if a policeman pulls me over, off duty or not, shows me his badge and gun, its yes sir and no sir the rest of the way. and saying at the most he was driving drunk, implying thats no big deal. what if that cop let him go and he wrecked into a family, killing them all? he also has a history with the police. law abiding people normally dont have this kind of stuff happen to them
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
Dirty cop. Illegal business.

It is a very touchy situation. I do not know if I would pull over as well, but I never drive when I am intoxicated. So that must make that decision to pull over or not a little harder because you are breaking the law. I've seen those forensic shows when the family gets killed because they pulled over for some fake cop. |

I'm not saying drunk driving isn't serious but he should have immediately called back up and just followed him. We are relying on here say from an officer in plane clothes who shot an unarmed man. It appears he never called for back up in this whole situation. Oh yeah and to say law abiding people don't have this stuff happen to them is bunk. You're telling me if some guy driving at 2:30 AM waives a badge at you and says pull over I'm a cop you are going to pull over and not be suspect this guy is some sort of freak. In some states you can pull over request a uniformed police officer to report to the scene if you are pulled over for a traffic violation. If he called back up which would have taken minutes the situation would have been totally different. |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
if you are driving around at 2:30 in the morning, chances are you were drinking. and im a drinker, 45 years old that has NEVER been pulled over by a policeman. pulling over at the nearest convience store or somewhere else that will be occupied is perfectly within your rights. if he was told over and over to stop and not approach the off duty policemen, what choice did he give him? im sure he is not a small man
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
That's about all you can expect from someone stupid enough to become a cop.

Yeah, officer from overseer You need a little clarity? Check the similarity! The overseer rode around the plantation The officer is off patroling all the nation The overseer could stop you what you're doing The officer will pull you over just when he's pursuing The overseer had the right to get ill And if you fought back, the overseer had the right to kill The officer has the right to arrest And if you fight back they put a hole in your chest! (Woop!) They both ride horses After 400 years, I've _got_ no choices! I walk around with a bigger one |

With your reasoning the off duty cop was probably drunk and or drinking as well. I'm not saying Foley is innocent I'm saying this doesn't exactly add up. You have never been pulled over, huh? My good friend from medical school who is black and drives a very expensive car was pulled over once a week for the better part of 4 years. He was thrown against a fence for being black on a friday night. He however was never arrested because he is extra careful to not D & D because he would say chances are I'll be pulled over tonight. So if you wanna call me the next Wewhite you can but it doesn't change the fact some people get treated like shit for reasons other than being guilty. If you know anyone who is not white ask them if they have ever been pulled over for no reason...you may be a little suprised at their response. You can't just use your own experience on this one. |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
Total Access says its questionable if hell ever play again. Damn, get shot, law trouble, and get laid off in some dumb act. Thats sad.
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
if i know anyone that is not white? what the hell is that supposed to mean? grew up in the poor section of town, with all types of friends. im saying if you obey the police, you will be better off in the end. just because your of color doesnt mean you have the right to disobey authority, and then when they react, play the race card. this was foleys second run in with the law in the last 3 months. the chargers have put him on a list that means he doesnt play at all this season and DOESNT get paid. who do you think was in the wrong now?
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
alot of ball players just think they can do whatever they want
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
your friend acted sensible in the presence of the police. he was neither shot or arrested. maybe the path foley should have picked
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
There is something fishy about this story. I'm hoping this was a case of stupidity and nothing more than that.
|
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
It's really lose-lose situation here. The cop probably could have handled it differently, I don't know. Foley probably could have and should have stayed the f**## in his car.
You're damned if you do, and damned if you don't. For sure the race card is going to be played in this one. I'm not saying it's right, but all the elements appear to be present for a potential volatile situation. |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
I don't know anything about Foley, and it's possible that he was just drunk (and his girl was too) but does this make anyone else think of Barrett Robbins? Was it last year, or two years ago, when he scuffled with a bunch of Miami police officers? He was manic-depressive, bipolar. Wonder if Foley is too
Again, I'm just speculating. And we all know what happens when you speculate |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
Foley is at fault. I believe I read somewhere that even after he was shot he kept approaching the officer.
It's like a speeder hitting someone that blew a stop sign. The speeder shouldn't have been speeding, but that doesn't excuse the guy that blew the stop sign... he is at fault. I know it's not a parallel analogy but you get the point. |

One thing is for sure, he shouldn't have been driving drunk - not that damn drunk. But near his house? No patrol cars in sight and a guy in plain clothes is telling you to pull over? |

No patrol cars in sight and a guy in plain clothes is telling you to pull over?
Him being drunk comprimised his ability to assess the situation. If someone is in plain clothes, showing me their badge, holding a gun at me telling me to stop... I'm listening to him. If you have a rational brain about it... you can realize the severity of the situation and look at it that way. He chose to drink, he chose to drive, he is at fault. I think more should have been done, and I'm very sensitive to the race issue. However I don't feel it applies in this one particular instance. |

But then again, I've never had a guy in plain clothes tell me to pull over. |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
No doubt, that shit's crazy... was it an unmarked vehicle... like lights and the works.. or was it literally a man randomly pulling aside him.
regardless... if that's the case. Your supposed to call the actualy police and say... meet me at my house... theres some guy claiming to be an officer... etc... and if your drunk.. once again it compromises your ability to see whats happening. very unfortunate. |

your friend acted sensible in the presence of the police. he was neither shot or arrested. maybe the path foley should have picked Didn't mean to offend you. My example of my friends repeatedly being pulled over for nothing was illustrated to show you that just because you obey laws doesn't mean you don't get pulled over. Other things come into the mix sometimes. Again I'm not saying Foley is innocent but what I am saying is the cop should have called back up and laid off a little. I have a lot of respect for police but shooting an unarmed man never looks good. His story is a little weird. Sees this guy nearly miss multiple cars on the highway driving erratically. Identifies himself than says the woman tries to run him over? Foley pretends he has a gun, and so he shoots? Foley keeps charging after being shot and he also doesn't call back up throughout this whole thing? It takes seconds to call 911. It seems that if both Foley and the woman were so against this guy maybe he had a run in with them or they really didn't believe he was a cop. I'm just saying....its not so simple. |
Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
On top of their current LB Foley, isnt Donnie Edwards begging to be traded to the Saints?
This team has L. Tomlinson. The Barry Sanders of our generation/ new RB of the future. Why are they not building a team over there? There club is doomed. But thats what they get for having all those fine women and good weather. |

Re: Chargers LB Foley Shot Several Times.
2-3 years ago there was a lunatic in an unmarked car with fake police badges and gadgets pulling over people in Maryland, mostly women. I cant speculate further meaning I dont know if they were raped or killed but you have to be careful.
That seems like good advice to call the police yourself if your unsure. I dont have a cell that seems like the most logical thing to do at nite, when an unmarked car pulls you over. Although, once backup arrives dont doubt for a second that they wont beat you unmercifully for wasting their time. Your ass is getting beaten bad for that. Just get your camera's ready or as TO (my favorite 4th grader says) get your popcorn ready. Put me in pads for week 2 I will end TO's career forever. He may not walk right when Id be done with him. |
