Colts/Giants

As this game approaches like all of us I am really cheering and hoping the Colts smash the Giants and get the win. However, look at the Colts injury report that was posted today on nfl.com

Indianapolis Colts at New York Giants

IND OUT RB De De Dorsey (Ankle)
DOUBTFUL DT Corey Simon (Knee)
QUESTIONABLE SS Mike Doss (Calf)
DE Dwight Freeney (Outer Lower Leg Contusion)
CB Nicholas Harper (Ankle)
TE Ben Hartsock (Hamstring)
LB Freddie Keiaho (Knee)
G Ryan Lilja (Knee)
DT Montae Reagor (Knee)
DE Bo Schobel (Foot)
QB Jim Sorgi (Shoulder)
WR Brandon Stokley (Ankle)
K Adam Vinatieri (Foot)
PROBABLE OLB Rocky Boiman (Back)
MLB Gary Brackett (Knee)
RB Kory Chapman (Hamstring)
TE Dallas Clark (Concussion)
CB Jason David (Groin)
OLB Gilbert Gardner (Hand)
CB Kelvin Hayden (Neck)
DB Tim Jennings (Ankle)
T Charlie Johnson (Foot)
MLB Rob Morris (Shoulder)
OLB Keith O'Neil (Back)
P Hunter Smith (Right Groin)
DE Josh Thomas (Hip)

NYG OUT RB Derrick Ward (Foot)
PROBABLE WR Sinorice Moss (Quadricep)
G Rich Seubert (Toe)
TE Jeremy Shockey (Ankle)

And we are crying about Portis/Springs. Things could be worse. I have to wonder what their sideline would like with all these guys in street clothes.
That is absurd. Their defense looks like they could have opened the door to even the playing field. I guess we will see how it plays out Sunday night. They still have to deal with Peyton but last years Colts defense was successful but it will be a hard act to follow b/c they really suck. This game could be a good indication of just how the NY defense can stand up to a passing threat. As this report shows LA isnt noted on it so this actually has the makings of a great game to watch. Just remember to boo the Giants and Eli.

Re: Colts/Giants

I would imagine a lot of those questionable guys will actually play. But if Jim Sorgi can't play...it's going to be a long season for the Colts.

Re: Colts/Giants

all of the probably people will play and at least half of the questionable people will play

Re: Colts/Giants

As much as I'd love to be wrong, I think the Giants are gonna win this one fairly easily.

Something tells me the Colts are long overdue for a letdown season.

Is anyone else tired of the buildup for this game? The whole Manning y Manning thing is grating.

MightyJoeGibbs 09-09-2006 12:59 AM

Re: Colts/Giants

I havent really heard of the buildup I dont think this thread even adds to the Manning vs Manning hype. Every game this year that our division rivals play is crucial to our success more than ever. Don't worry it will dissipate soon after Sunday or rather after week 1 media guys get over it.

Subtle yet effective language.

Re: Colts/Giants

Did anyone else see that story about Eli and Peyton during halftime of the Notre Dame game? Not to offend anyone, but that was possibly the gayest thing I've ever seen in my life. Plus, the promos that they were running throughout the game made me want to puke.

I'm obviously going to watch the game because I love football, but I imagine that my enjoyment will be hampered.

OHh, poor mommy, so hard to watch her son's get hit. Bullshit any other normal family would be like shit, you better take them hits boy, do you think you can get paid millions in some other profession, screw momma manning. Momma needs a brand new ring.

ArtMonkDrillz 09-09-2006 09:10 PM

Re: Colts/Giants

I like what they said about Brady Quinn's mom, it was like the exact opposite of what they were saying about Mrs. Manning. Apparently Quinn's mom is so into football that she wouldnt talk to Brady after the game last week b/c she thought he played so bad.
Now that's a fan first and a mom second, and I can respect that!

Re: Colts/Giants

I havent watched the whole game yet but this guy is real pocket passer who makes good throws on the money at times but he is still learning I think his stock has rocketed thanks to CWeisz which NFL scouts have to know he will come into the league with some added knowledge undere his belt that other guys probably wouldnt get to know. This kid could have a great future.

ArtMonkDrillz 09-09-2006 10:19 PM

Re: Colts/Giants

Quinn is also a lot faster than you might imagine, so he can scramble when he needs to.

he should kiss charlie weiss' ass. before he came to notre dame, only a handful of people knew who he was. now, he is probably a top 10 pick

Re: Colts/Giants

i am so sick of the hype. those of you who watched nd/psu yesterday did you see all of the commercials for that game. the parts of the nd/psu i watched yesterday i saw commercials for that game about 5 times. I think peyton is way better than eli at this point but honestly i think peyton has choked more than once and honestly with no edge i dont see the colts challenging for the super bowl. and as far as eli goes can anyone say overrated? he just like his brother is a choke artist. I think choking is in the manning's blood. The apple dont fall to far from the tree. See Archie Manning.

i agree i think both bros. will carry on the the manning tradition of winning nothing

Re: Colts/Giants

Secretly Peyton is my favorite QB maybe player. I have never seen a general like him before. Thats why he has that big goose egg of a melon he calls his head. He is a genius and we may not see anyone who can operate an offense like hiim for another 20-30 years. Not till my seed takes rank.

I have tried to ignore it as best I can. However, the ESPN commercials I think are quite entertaining. "..Check to Pancakes, Check to Pancakes...."

That's cause your a Manning fan (which I can completely understand). Its only about as entertaining as an Eastern motors commercial after the first time you watch it, if you're not a fan of the Mannings.

Re: Colts/Giants

Look at the bright side, barring a Manning-Manning Super Bowl (I'm sure you guys would LOVE that) they don't play again until 2010.

I think those ESPN commercials with the Manning family taking a tour of ESPN is actually pretty funny. Especially when Peyton kicks Eli

13-0 Go Colts. I like that Dallas lost, but it was a non-conference road game. Be real nice to see the Giants drop 1 at home. Be a nice PAYBACK for their 9 home games last season!

It would be nice for them to loose. When we win tomorrow night we'll join philly at 1-0

I think that is how he feels needed to express that event. If its gay its gay, so be it.

whats a matter with using the word gay when appropriate? that was big time gay

What the hell is up with the Star Wars Sound Track on NBC?

mooby 09-10-2006 10:05 PM

Re: Colts/Giants

Idk but they need to stop talking about Manning vs. Manning. Neither has looked great yet, although that pass Burress caught for a touchdown was pretty impressive. At the beginning to each half they did the whole "87 seasons, 12 thousand something games, and this is the first time two brothers have started at qb for opposite teams." Jeez the media makes it sound like a fight between two brothers, not two pro football teams.

Alvin#40 09-10-2006 10:44 PM

Re: Colts/Giants

These two defenses are looking pretty bad. Good luck Pierce, trying to figure out Peyton's calls and signals. He's practically in their backfield when Peyton's making his calls.

STPainmaker 09-10-2006 10:45 PM

Re: Colts/Giants

One thing thats bothering me is the Giants are only beating themselves as they have said on air all night. Eli does stupid things every 5th play.

Re: Colts/Giants

This Brandon Jacobs has looked pretty damn good. I got a feeling we're all going to get to know his name well in the future.
