Fans

I must say this has been one of the best football games i have been to and the fans were awsome, loud and proud as they say.

But this is not why im posting this thread, the fans also booed when something went wrong on our team. Example: Brunnel's interception and Frost's botched kick. Now Mr. Frost was meant by a torroent of boos when he left the field where i was close enough to see his face and it was not one of pleasure, in fact i thought he was about to cry. Also a redskin fan started to heckle him and i assure u we were close enuogh for to the bench for Frost to hear.

Alright my point is these guys are playing for us and we are cheering for them is there need to boo them when they make a bad play? Hows this going to make them play better? About the heckling your own player thats just wrong and no arguement you put out there will say otherwise.

I leave you with this thought, when frost came out of the field he got pats on the back from the other 10 players and coaching staff on the field, if we are indeed the 12th man why arent we giving him a pat on the back and saying "hey its ok, everyone makes a mistake" instead of booing him and telling him how much he sucks. If u ask me, we are a terrible teamate

you should never boo your own team

Re: Fans

Nah, I don't know about never booing your team. Sometimes, they so richly deserve it.

At first, I felt bad for Frost -- he'd been punting the ball much better than anyone could have expected this year, then he has one bad punt and 90,000 fans are ready to tomatoes at him.

But at the time, they were behind in a critical game when field position is often the difference in the outcome of the game. Booing is part of the game in any sport. These are pretty tough guys to be playing a game like this. If they can't handle it, then they should seek out another line of work.

Re: Fans

You're right. I've never booed our players when I've been at a game. I may yell and scream and curse them in my living room, but never at a game.

When things go wrong, that's when the 12th man is needed more than ever.

Frost has finally settled down, it seems. Yeah, that one punt went off the side of his foot, but to hear the chorus of boos was not right. I guess people were so keyed up because the game was close and any one error could make the difference.

That's the life he's chosen. He gets paid well to do not much really, but the catch is your only as good as your last kick. I hope he realizes that the majority of us are behind him, for now...

Re: Fans

I was disappointed to hear our fans booing Frost who's really been playing well as of late. Everyone's entitled to a mess up here or there and booing him may increase bad play.

Re: Fans

I think everyone was booing Frost for that kick mainly because there had been a flag on the decent kick that he made just a minute before. He comes out and booms one but there is a penalty so he has to rekick and he nearly shanks it. So I think people were booing the situation moreso than actually booing Frost. At least that's the way I saw it.
That was one of the most fun games I've been to in a long time. F'ing awesome.

Yeah, I was going to mention the several hundred thousand dollars he makes for 5-10 plays every week.

All in all, not too bad a deal for Frost.

Re: Fans

We should be used to this because here in Washington we are quick to criticise when the slightest thing goes wrong but when it all goes good like today we praise our guys.

Re: Fans

Frost has been a big part of the turnaround and I agree that he should not be booed.

Brunell two years ago deserved to be booed off the field. Frost, no way.

Re: Fans

this is about the 40th version of this thread (should you boo your own team?).

what if brunell throws 6 ints a week for 5 weeks straight (with 0 TDs)? it's subjective, but at some point, people are going to boo whether you personally agree with it or not.

Pay me millions, I will choreograph a song/dance with a thong and skirt on. And No "That Guy" I will not audition for the last time.

I have no idea wtf you're talking about.

Re: Fans

Yeah, i don't like booing the team you cheer for but there are situations in which i think they are fine. If, for example, someone was to hate brunell playing 2 years ago and felt he had to be benched, booing is acceptable because it is expression of an opinion and if everyone is booing the opinion may have an effect. Booing at frost, who is our only punter, does nothing but hurt him.

Maryland fans seem to boo a lot by the way. Then again maryland football pisses the hell out of me.

Your bias from one poster to the next really stands out. I guess now I'll get a little vacation for bringing this up. LOL
