Peter King does it again
On the heels of Tiki saying that he is thinking of retirement, Peter King is aparently leading the charge for Tiki to be a Hall of Famer. This really proves the point that he doesn't know what he is talking about and only votes based on who he likes. His reason for not voting for Art Monk was because he only made 3 Pro Bowls. WELL, Tiki has only made 2. And I don't recall Tiki every holding a Super Bowl Trophy.
Again Peter votes for personal reasons. |

Death, Taxes, and Peter King not having a clue...some things you can always count on

Re: Peter King does it again
god, when is this guy going to have a heartattack already!?!
|
Re: Peter King does it again
This is made more ridiculous by the fact that he is a Giants fan. FAN! No objectivity whatsoever. We as Skins fans often beat up on people in the media who criticize us, sometimes a little unfairly, but this guy really is a jerk!

Re: Peter King does it again
Dig that! F*ck Peter King And Tiki Barber! Giants aint goin nowhere anyway! HAIL fom MCUSA!
|
Re: Peter King does it again
so.... tiki barber realizes how to carry a ball without fumbiling for 2 years... and he should go to the hall of fame...
wow... |
Re: Peter King does it again
Tiki Barber sucks. If the Giants runningback is already thinking of the end of the year, they don't have a chance. Nice one Tiki, nice one.......DUMBASS!!

Re: Peter King does it again
wow irish loves to shit on everything. if he posted more, hed make daseal look like he loved puppies.

Re: Peter King does it again
I dont see why Tiki wouldn't be considered for the Hall. he will have over 10k yards rushing, well over 5k yards receiving. probably close to 70 tds. Looking at some of the other hall of famers, he fits right in. his career avg per carry is around 5. thats pretty good if you ask me. and almost 9 yards per reception. I wish there would be some more objective people out here, instead of having you bash everything ever said by someone if it isn't in the favor of the redskins.
stop worrying, Monk will get into the hall of fame. |
Re: Peter King does it again
F the HOF

The problem is, the HOF players should vote, not some sports writers who all have some sort of personal agendas. How can you have people voting for the hall when they never played a down.....in any kind of competative football. |
Re: Peter King does it again
Tiki isn't going to retire anyway. He'll play another 2-3 seasons and be a lock for the Hall. Right now he's too iffy.

The problem with only letting HOFers vote is that there would be too much buddy stuff and team-mates pushing non-deserving team-mates for induction. I dont think the current system is perfect but I think its best because it provides a broad range of perspectives and the best chance for objectivity. I dont necessarily believe that someone had to play football to be able to determine who the all time greats are. |

Most untrue statement of the year! |

I dont necessarily believe that someone had to play football to be able to determine who the all time greats are.
I personally dont think it would be like that if the players voted. They hold the Hall with such honor that they would be true to the deserving players. The writers have so much agenda these days they push push push for certain players that may be border line at best. Some have personal grudges that play into their votes. Who would qualify more, the people who actually played the sport or people who watch from the outside? I would take the people that actually lined up and played on sundays. I can see both sides. Maybe there should be a weighted vote. given the players and writers votes with the players weighted a little more. |

I just dont see why writers would have an agenda about getting a player in the HOF, what would they get out of it? Buts lets say the agenda is true, I think it would be much harder for 1 writer from say KC to push a chief into the hall because he has to get a large % of the writers to buy into his logic which I think would not be all that easy. Whereas I think it would be much easier for a group of old teammates to band together and get a buddy in. Like I said before, the current system is not perfect but it is the best. |
Re: Peter King does it again
the HOF is stupid, IMO. the greats are great, because of their performance/legacy -- not because they are in the hall.

You think so? He looked pretty serious when asked about it, saying at one point something like "I am going to retire this year." |
Re: Peter King does it again
he just wants to be like the next bret favre
|
Re: Peter King does it again
King was on the radio down here in Miami yesterday afternoon INSISTING that Tiki Barber was a better RB than LaDanian Tomlinson! The guy is such a homer when it comes to the Giants it's nauseating. People were calling him and ripping him about that and all he would keep saying is 'We'll agree to disagree then.' He came off as a serious dickhead.
|
Re: Peter King does it again
oh wow. are you kidding me? i DO think barber deserves SOME consideration, but a better back than LT? HILARIOUS.
|
Re: Peter King does it again
tiki is slower than LT
tiki is weaker than LT tiki fumbles more than LT tiki is not as durable as LT tiki has played on a better team for most of his career, and still can't produce like LT PK is such a douche. |
Re: Peter King does it again
yeah, LT has bene playing with juggernauts like parker and um.. i forget. antonio gates has been the biggest thing to help him in a while.
|
Re: Peter King does it again
Tiki has been playing like a hall of famer in the last three years. There is no one who was more effective than him in that span, as we know first hand from him thrashing us. However, you cannot ignore his many mediocre years and fumbles. LT is better all around, but as a pure runner, Tiki is the best. But i still hate him.
|
Re: Peter King does it again
Tiki's a fine back. If he retired today though I don't think he should get into the hall before Faulk, and perhaps Bettis, Martin, and Watters as well.
Wonder if Ronde will retire as well. Wonder if he'll be a Hall of Famer. |
Re: Peter King does it again
Ronde was definitely a more consistent player than Tiki. They both need to prove a bit more.
|
Re: Peter King does it again
take a look at their numbers:
NFL.com - LaDainian Tomlinson NFL.com - Tiki Barber Not counting this year (incomplete), Barber has played in the league 4 more years than LT, but has less than 1500 more yards than LT LT has scored 10 or more TDs in every year of his career (5). Tiki has scored 10 or more only twice. Many (respected) people have compared LT to the all-time greats. I have never heard such comparisons for tiki. not to mention, LT is a better receiver. |
Re: Peter King does it again
Tiki needs to stick to making those terrible *ss truck commercials! HOF,:yeahright HAIL from MCUSA!
