Hilarious Stuff: Witten is Made a Fool
 

After catching what he thought was the game winning pass from Tomy Romo on the Cowboys' last offensive play of the game, Jason Witten was laughing about Adam Archuleta's blown coverage. Witten was laughing it up at Archuleta's expenses and taunting the Redskins as he lined up for Vanderjagt's field goal attempt. Unfortunately for Witten, he was still laughing and joking about Archuleta as the ball was snapped, allowing Vincent to shoot past him and block the kick.

Talk about a dumbass. The idiot is sitting there laughing about Archuleta thinking he's won the game for thw Cowboys, only to blow it for them. I think this stuff is absolutely classic s--t that is so poetic that there must be a God.

Sweet justice. I also enjoyed the look on Vincent's face when he watched TO drop a certain TD. Owens had Vincent and Rogers beaten and green field ahead of him only to drop it - if you watch carefully you can see Vincent behind him and his face goes from a look of 'oh sh1t' to hahahahaha and he has a few words with TO as well. Magic.

Wow! Just read/heard about this this morning. Witten needs to follow some of the teachings of Yogi, especially the one about: "It ain't over till it's over".
I wonder how he feels waking up this morning with the knowledge that his weak character is the specific reason why the field goal was blocked.

I was at that Giants game last Christmas Eve and thought about Shockey's play after reading about Whitten's lapse in concentration!!! The beauty of Shockey's lapse was that it was plain to see from the stadium, allowing me mock a guy wearing a Shockey jersey for rooting on a quitter ;-)

I was there too, that was a great game. I flew back from Wisconsin and that game made the trip worthwhile.

At yesterday's game, there were the usual Cowboy fans that always seem to crawl out of the woodwork, especially after a big win last week at Carolina. There was a guy a couple rows in front of me wearing a Dallas cap with the price tag on it. I razzed him for planning to return the hat after the game. After a loss like that, I GUARANTEE that hat has already returned. God forbid you EVER see Dallas fans don their colors after a bad loss.

That was a pretty funny article. However, it seemed like the author's point, in making Dallas look so bad, was indirectly to say that the Skins had no right to win. I agree we didn't play supberb ball, but we were always in the game and missed the potentially winning field goal only seconds before the block.

On another note, and as disappointing as it is, I don't think it was Witten who missed his assignment on the blocked field goal. Witten, as the far left extreme of the line blocked the outside rusher. The player to Witten's right doubled up unnecessarily and missed Vincent who came in untouched.

Either way, great play and even better when the losing team talks trash and gets beat.

I don't care who had the responsibility to block that area, Witten was close enough. Vicent ran across Witten's right shoulder to block the kick. That's close enough for me and I'll just pretend that Witten f--ked up.

Brian Mitchell said that Witten made a fundamental blocking mistake on that play that let Vincent get through. He also said that the kick probably would have been blocked anyways, even if Vincent missed it because vanderjerk kicked it very low.

Vanderjagt was staying stuff after the game like "I did my job. I kicked it well. But there are 11 guys on the team that have to do their job..."

You know every day on my way to my desk I walk past a big framed picture of Vanderjagt. I wanted to rip it off the wall today and stomp on it with glee. But alas...I decided not getting fired was more important

On feild goals you're always responsible for your inside gap, I'm pretty sure that is most def. the guy that Witten was supposed to block. You NEVER worry about your outside guy, because ussually the guys will never make a block coming from the outside. (Look at the jump the Dallas guy got on Novacks GW FG, it was a great great effort adn still fell short. Thats why they always worry about the inside guy, so that'd have been Wittens.

I was surprised to hear from Joe Gibbs today that the blocked Field Goal was a by product of Andre carter getting good pressure on the previous kicks during the day. They adjusted their blocking to make sure they got him, which opened it up for Vincent.
