First RedskinRat tells it like it is. But as a whole Im not going to be a part of a forum that continues to support Gibbs and his dumbass decisions and his QB. If they play good one week props to Brunell threads emerge and Gibbs is the man. The next week after they suck here come the bashers. Too many damn hypocrites around here. Ive been a skin fan for 35 yrs and always will be but they suck out loud and Ill be damn if im gonna defend lousy ass football. Later.

I agree that we are playing suck out loud football. And I will also say I'm not gonna cheer for anything we're doing right now. I'm also not gonna insult my fellow fans on this site out of frustration with my awful football team. And if you've been a Skins fan for any amount of time, you should have gotten used to some aggrivation (over the last 10-15yrs).

I am not a huge Brunell fan, but today its not his fault in total...has less than 3 seconds to throw the ball due to the poor offensive line play we have going on today. They have played their worst football in the first half and are still in the game!

i have to agree in that something is up with Gibbs sticking with Brunell. there is not one aspect of this guy that will lead us to victory. his pocket composure is equivalent to a highschool freshman, he has zero hesitation to throw the ball away, ive never seen him drop back less than 10 yards, and he has questionable accuracy. really, its starting to get to me. ill probably continue to bitch on this forum to try to counterbalance those who insist on supporting him, no reason to quit now.

Fan4Life, I totally understand the perceived hypocrosy...it seems when Brunell is bad, he's bashed and when he's good the Kool Aid is flowing.
Fact of the matter is, Brunell is not the answer any way you slice it, and I blame Joe Gibbs for the failures of this offense, not Al Saunders.

Yes, it's very fucking frustrating watching your team struggle week in and week out, then watch Joe Gibbs tell the media how Mark fought his guts out and then come here, and listen to people rant about how Gibbs has 3 Super rings and you ought to shut the fuck up! I hear what you're saying.....

I have been thinking about this...consider the personel decisions under Gibbs II, would Gibbs have done as well his first tenure without Bethard?? Would he have even done close??

I can blame him and Gibbs...they're trying to force a square peg (redskins offense) into a round hole (Saunder's playbook)...I just hope we dont' clear house after this season and start all over again with new players

I started the props to Brunell thread last week and I stand by it - he played well and deserved to praise. This week, Brunell played horribly and deserves ridicule.

I am tired of people who see things in black/white and right/wrong terms. It's not "all or nothing." There should be room for nuance in an intelligent debate.

Perhaps some are not capable of recognizing that it is totally legitimate to praise Brunell one week and bash him the next. He plays inconsistently and therefore gets praised/bashed on an inconsistent basis.

aw yes, the infamous Poll that had him play either Sub-Par or 'Great'.

and its not legitmate to bash the PLAYER one week and not the next. you can bash/praise his PERFORMANCE as the weeks go, but the player himself people can make a judgement on and 'inconsistent' has always been a euphemism for BAD in this league.

Hey, he played well last week. I know some people will never admit that but that's ok. This week he played like shit, and I'm not afraid to say that.

I see nothing wrong with evaluating a player on a week to week basis. You're only as good as your last game.

how do you know which week to bench them then? like i said, you can evaluate a player's performance each week, sub-par or er, great, but you evaluate the player himself by how he plays over a span of games.

Of course you also have to evaluate the big picture, but the point of the Brunell thread last week was to simply say he did a good job [U]last week[/U].

I've been bashing Brunell for quite some time. I've said for a long time that he can't throw over the middle, isn't all that accurate, and is too conservative. The only point of last week's thread was to give a player who deserved a lot of blame for this season's outcome so praise for playing well. I simply don't see any inconsistency in that.
