The Brunell Thread (Merge)
Seriously guys, I am really pissed off. I know he is our best chance of making the playoffs, and I would stick with Brunell but he is playing awful.
He only looks at Moss. It is really bad, if you look at Brunell, he only looks at MOss, and throws it to him, even in triple coverage. I made a post earlier this week, saying I dont want Moss to play, bc this way it forces him to mix it up. If Moss is in, he only looks at him, therefore increasing our chance of losing. Looks like I was right. I am beyond pissed at our team, we dont even have a fucking pulse. |
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
you're wrong. he looks at Moss 2nd. he looks at Betts first.
|
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
I don't think where he looks is the problem, he has hit Cooley and Lloyd. We have no downfield attack, and Saunders appears to be giving up on even trying to make something happen downfield with this super conservative playcalling.
|
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
Oh yeah I forgot, Brunell is sleeping with Betts now.
|
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
Put it in the hole b4 half
|
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
That's the stuff!

under pressure Brunell only looks at Betts, he doesn't have the reflexes to look at who the blitzer just left unprotected downfield. |
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
To be fair alot of the pressure today has been right in his face before he can even set up, and like what Goose was saying it sounds like the WRs aren't doing much to help out by working back to the ball.
|
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
Even when Brunell has time he sucks it up. I'll admit hes had some pressure RIGHT in his face, and you cant blame him a whole bunch for that. However, he's had time and just not made throws. We're not making the playoffs -- time to accept it and move on.

I agree. The conservative playcalling is out of fukcing control. Running it for the 3rd time on a 3rd and 22? give me a damn break. |
Re: Brunell only looks at Moss
yeah the receivers would have to sprint 10 yds back, to the sideline, and grow about 10" in height to help Brunell out.
|
How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
what do you expect to hear during the Press Conference?
"fought his guts out"? |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
gibbs will bench brunell for next week i think. he has to at this point...i hope.
12/27 130 yards, int for td |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
"mark is a real tough guy, a real vet-tren"
"the guys kept on fighting, and stuck in their, and that is true about the team" "it was the refs fault, i am gonna send in some tape" |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
time to make the change and get ready for next year
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
I will now accept the apologies from everyone last week who said I was an ass in the "Props to Brunell" thread. He blows. Nice pick to the house Brunell, maybe he should throw it away more whe he "thinks" there might be pressure coming. What a douche
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
Guys played with a lot of heart.
time to make the change and get ready for next year
exactly right |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
Coach why is Mark Brunell the starting QB for the Washington Redskins?
Oh wait no one will ask him that? |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
brunell does blow.. hes sucked for a while now.. sure he had a few solid games toward the end of last season, but thats it.. gibbs has got to stop being a pu--y and play the rookie..
|

to an extent, matty, but Brunell has been making some terrible reads today. It is not all his fault, but at the same time you cant throw at moss in triple coverage. Period. And how about that pick, the CB was all over Moss, and Brunell doesnt look the other way. Terrible, especially seeing that he is a vet. |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
hes not even a rookie anymore tho, which is even sadder that gibbs cant put him in even in garbage time
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
Why the hell did he play after the interception. The whole point of playing Brunell is that he "doesn't make mistakes" - sorry, brunnell playing when the score is 27-3 is pissing me (and my wife) off.
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
true.... why is the nfl so scared of fresh qbs.. hb and fb defense wr they all start right away.. why we feel the need to bench these guys for 2 sometimes 3 seasons. really gets my goat
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
Yeah the press at Joe Gibbs press conferences are complete and udder pussies. They try to sidestep the direct questions, and not put Gibbs on the spot.
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
To be fair to the media trying to get an answer about anything outta Gibbs is like trying to get blood from a stone. They try, but he doesn't give anything up. I think this week we'll hear some direct questions about the QB situation.
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
In addition to the need for a New look QB for next year, we have major coaching problem.................basically all over. Some of the worst SKINS ball I have ever seen...................ever
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
I, like all of you would like to see some direct Q's and direct A's
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
If he gets asked, Brunell has been awful all season, why is he still starting?
It gets hard to dodge that. |

I tell you what Hog, we let Dwayne Walker, last year's DB coach, walk to UCLA last year, and bought in one of Gregg Williams' cronies. There has been a noticable decline in the play of the secondary, to a man, since Jerry Gray's arrival. |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
God knows, Sonny and George Michael aren't going to ask Gibbs any tough questions.
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
I hate to say it, but Brunnel was under alot of pressure.
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
so our season is ruined, who cares. gibbs is gonna keep brunell in there until brunell gets injured, for better or worse. i just wish we could see campbell. it's not just the qb position either, our whole team really blows. i'm sick and tired of seeing all these free agents brought in and it never fucking works. i just want to see some chemistry and continuity. and wtf has happened to gregg williams' defense. each year we've gotten worse and worse.
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
season is o-ver.
I'm wondering why Brunell wasn't replaced when he threw that nast pick. Probably made sense in the context of the game/ season. |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
I hate to say it, but Brunnel was under alot of pressure.
pressure. in the NFL. imagine that. |

Well..........there's no getting around our "healthy" secondary much like our injured secondary STILL looks like shit. What freaks me out is the utter disarray of the entire team. You have to blame the coaching staff. It's look like a DAMN expansion team! Joe has to be Freakin' himself. |

True, but maybe teams wouldn't be blitzing with total reckless abandon if they thought Brunell was capable of hurting them. Brunell is officially cooked. |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
i honestly don't think that brunell sucks...
but at this juncture that's not even the point. the season is all but over and i think the sun has set on old brunell's time as start here in DC. he'll still make a solid backup. |
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
gibbs pressconference right now on comcast
|
Re: How will Gibbs characterize Brunell's play vs. the Eagles?
Are any reporters going to ask him about Brunell?
