Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
On the team, who does Jason Campbell hang out with or spend time with. I was just curious because he's so calm and mild mannered.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
I heard he has a man-crush on ade jimoh...
don't tell him, though.... |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
I heard he's best friends with Al Saunders and the play catch in the backyard.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
I was wondering something similar to this. I wonder if someone like a James Thrash gets more looks because he probably practices more with JC than guys like Moss or Lloyd do.
I imagine he and Rogers are close though, both being from Auburn. |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
I think Marcus Washington is from AU also.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
Hopefully the O-line.
I'm sure his voicemail is clogged with repeated well wishings from Moss, Lloyd, Randle El, Patten, Cooley and Thrash. "Hey JC, it's your boy Jimmy T! Just thought I'd call to see how your doing and if there is anything I can get for you. I'm REALLY happy you're the new QB. I told coach that you were the man LAST year! Give me a shout out when you get a chance...ummm...later!" |

Do you think they all meet at Moss's house and Play Madden 06? |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
Carlos Rogers was his roomate at Auburn, I think. No doubt they're pals. But the QBs hang out together all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Brunnell and Collins, as well as the QB coach. Those guys see him day in and day out.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
I've seen Campbell and Rogers multiple times together in tysons corner mall, so I think they're real tight. I think they're neighbors too.

Just like Jerggy and Kilmer use to hangout. 3:00 AM, Downtown DC, the night before the game! |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
At this point everyone is his friend...everyone is looking for him to provide what MB couldn't provide for the team and that's Ws.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
hhhhhhhhhhheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
certainly not Hess or GTripp.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
If I was him, I'd be suckin' up to Samuels
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???

Yeah, what the hell happened to Jansen ? Do you think it's the new offensive scheme or that he's fallen off ? Last year Thumbs was like the Hoover Dam. |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
last year he was pretty good. i honestly couldnt tell you what happened this year.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
chemistry - everyone HATES Saunders.
|
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
I heard that a lot of the starting QBs in the league called him. I thought that was pretty classy.

Says who? In preseason/training camp LLoyd, Moss, Portis all said things that indicated to me that they couldn't wait to run the stuff and several players commented on his energy level and how invigorating it was - (save for Brunell who never seemed comfortable with the new offense). What's your source? I haven't seen even a rumour that the players were displeased with Al. There has been commentary from the talking heads about his "700 page playbook", but where are you getting your player discontent theory? |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
My source is the face Saunders makes when you bring up Portis. You can tell he can't stand him.

is he suppose to smile and say "by golly i just love that guy"? no you dont have to like people to work with them, plus i dont believe that saunders hates portis. it's just you, you want saunders to hate portis and your mind is playing tricks on you |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
right. It just so happens that Matty agrees with me. It's not JUST me!

It couldn't be "Damn, I just can't make it work with this guy and him being banged up is not making this easier". Nope, it's the face of hate. |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
When the players stay at the hotel, all the players get their own rooms except for MB and JC -- those lovebirds always get *have* to room together. JC also showed a lot of respect to MB after being named starter so I think they have a pretty good relationship.

Not to sound like a total ass, but who gives a crap who he hangs out with??

There has been commentary from the talking heads about his "700 page playbook", but where are you getting your player discontent theory?
he's a backbiter. he bashed brunell publicly, and basically said campbell was too stupid to run his offense, he called out portis, he hasn't made any significant adjustment to adjust his scheme to the talent, and he hasn't use what worked last year (shotgun, audibles, etc). He also complained about the mis-use of preseason, but that's a legit gripe. brunell said he had no idea why they'd bring in a new offensive scheme for a 36 year old QB when the old one worked well and he already knew it. the WRs were enamored by the potential of the scheme, but everyone seems to think the greatest show on turf was saunders creation, which is very very (VERY) wrong. he was the WR coach and he was working with faulk, holt, and bruce. mike martz is responsible for that, and vermeil too. saunder may or may not have helped, but he wasn't the guy in charge or even the #2. anyways, i'm kinda anti-saunders, cause i'd rather hear a guy step up and be responsible when things aren't going well, instead of blaming everyone else for his own (possible) failings. |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
could this be the reason he cant get a head coaching job? and his problem with portis is, the respect that coach gibbs has for him, and being able to pull himself from games. i guess saunders isnt super smart about some things

Where are you hearing this? As for the public bashing of Brunell, when did this happen? Not saying that it didn't, I just like looking at the first hand sources. |

Not saying that it didn't, I just like looking at the first hand sources.
from his mouth, mainly in post game interviews. and it's not like he came out and said "brunell sucks" but talking about how he didn't know what brunell can't do and limiting what he can call, and that he couldn't use his QB. the campbell stuff was during a prime time game (skins-vikings) after player introduction, his head popped up and he was asked what he thought about campbell (again, on national tv, a pre-recorded interview playing during the game), and instead of coach-speak about how he's big and strong and fast and has a good future, he only talks about how he hasn't grasped the offense (which both TK and wilbon recapped on PTI and agreed) that he made it sound like campbell was too stupid to run his scheme. |
and it's not like he came out and said "brunell sucks"
Someone on NFL radio today (Forgot which show was on at about 1PM, said that they've heard from inside sources that Saunders couldn't be happier that Brunell is on the bench. Mentioned he couldn't go down field and thus couldn't run his offense. This, personally, gave me an erection. But I get my kicks by kicking a guy who does nothing but fight his guts out. |

Why are you blaming him when he was forced to use a QB who could not physically execute the throws? Anyone who played fantasy football knows that the Rams and Chiefs were phenomenal on offense. Saunders is an offensive genius and has an impeccable track record. Do the Saunders bashers just think that he forgot everything? In the beginning of the year several media outlets reported ex-Saunders players saying that the offense takes a full year for the players to learn. Now that the weakest link on the offense has been replaced I believe that there will be significant strides from the Tampa game to year end. We do not need another offensive system next year. We need to take our medicine and work on improving. Maybe we need to replace a part or two on the O-line. They are not going to be mistaken for the hogs any time soon. I think that the stars are aligning for a good year in 2007. I know that G Williams stock has taken a hit and hopefully he will stay. Our cap number should limit any major FA movement, our achilles heel has been benched, the offensive players will be more familiar with the system, & our schedule can't be any harder. Hey at least we know that Portis will not blow out a knee this year. We are going to get a sweet draft pick and expectations will be low and our players pride will be tested after this debacle. Low expectations, low turnover and stability = success in 2007 |
Re: Who Are Jason Campbell's Friends???
You know who I think is the happiest about this change? GW.
Why? The NFL is a 3rd down league. With #8's horrific, wimpy play on 3rd down, the D has been getting killed on field position and TOP -- all of which adds up to more opportunities for the D to get burned by a big play. |
