McNabb Out For The Season
He tore his ACL, according to ESPN.

Re: McNabb Out For The Season
I know this makes me sound heartless, but what sucks most about it is that we're so deep in the hole we can't realistically take advantage of it
|
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
I heard that on CBS ealier. It's odd because it doesn't look bad if you see the play. However, as soon as I heard he was carted off with a knee injury on ESPNNEWS I had a feeling it was probably a torn ACL. Don't know why, just felt like it probably was. It's sad to me because Donovan is probably one of my favorite qb's in the game. I just wish he didn't play so damn well against Washington all the time.
That said, I agree with TAFKAS, if the Skins weren't so bad it would help their playoff chances. Now it just opens the East to a 2 team race. |

I don't think that's heartless at all - injuries are a HUGE part of this violent game. We've had our share, but had we taken care of business at home in winnable games against Minnesota and Tennessee, we'd be right in the thick of the division race. The NFC East is overrated, pure and simple. |
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
this is heartless -screw 'em

Re: McNabb Out For The Season
Tough break for Donovan, two years in a row he's not been able to finish.

Re: McNabb Out For The Season
I feel bad for McNabb, but I won't cry for the Eagles. I'm happy that the Eagles are going to have to suffer....again.
|
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
yea screw the eagles
|
Re: McNabb Out For The Season

Re: McNabb Out For The Season
The Cowboys deserve to win the division. And hope they do - the defense was awesome against Indy.
I know we're supposed to hate the Cowboys, but the team I really loathe is the Giants. |
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
i really wish the cowboys weren't on their way to beating the colts as i type this. That said, i feel really bad for McNabb. He's one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and I enjoy watching him play, just not against us. This is good news for us though, one less player we have to worry about the next time we play the eagles.

Re: McNabb Out For The Season
While I feel bad for McNabb and the Eagles players, I feel no remorse for any misery brought upon the Eagles' fans. Couldn't have happened to a better group.
|
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
Torn ACL this late in the year not only does McNabb in for this year but also next year. I would not expect McNabb to be ready and effective until December next year.

Man, at the bar EEich and I went to watch the Skins game, the guys sitting at the table next to us were all Eagles fans. Here's sampling of the kind of stuff they were saying after a McNabb interception. "What the f*** was that? F***ing piece of f****ing sh*t. What a f****king joke. They should all be f****ing shot. F****ing take them out into the parking lot and f***ing shoot the motherf***ers. And shoot the f****ing refs too. F***ing pieces of sh*ts. And f*** Andy Reid. F***ing shoot him then shoot him again. F***. " |

They say 8-12 months from what I heard. I mean Culpepper tore his around this time last year (might have been early November) and he's definitely not healthy yet. |

8 or 9 months is the typical window for recovery. I would expect him to be ready for the season no problem. |
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
I do feel bad for mcnabb, but he'll probably rest pretty comfortably on his mattres stuffed with money while he gets better. I have a friend who's an electrician with 2 kids (his wife is a teacher... incredibly underpaid) who just tore his knee all to shit and cant work. That guy, I feel bad for. He cant work and his pay gets cut tremendously because of disability....

He should be ready but they say an ACL injury takes about two years to fully recover. McNabb is a hard worker though and will be back. |

He'll be ready by the opener and will all be deluged with teary-eyed SportCenter features about how much courage and fortitude it took for him to make this amazing recovery. (Pam Oliver: Was there ever a time when you thought you might not be able to play again?) It's the same story they do on Donovan every year. Rush Limbaugh was mean to him. T.O was mean to him. He's always overcoming something that is peripheral to the actual game. I'm sorry for his pain, but the media's bizarre treatment of him is just... bizarre. Do a story about someone else. Anyone else. |

Re: McNabb Out For The Season
I question in sports today if atheletes arent rushed back from injury and doing too much before they're ready. I've seen a lot of repeat injuries, and even more injuries where a player is never the same. I have a feeling clubs/trainers arent exactly patient with these guys, it doesnt get as strong as it could be, and causes problems such as this.

Ready and effective is what I said. And 8-9 months is not the typical window for recovery. A year is typical and even if he heals at a miraculous pace--and is ready in 9 months--his effectiveness will suffer. For every Carson Palmer, there are many more Dante Culpeppers or Ahman Greens or Trent Greens, in the world of knee repair... |

Basically it all depends on how bad the injury is. Culpepper shredded his entire knee last year and had no business being on the field week 1, the Dolphins effed that situation up pretty bad. Of course McNabb's effectiveness will suffer next year, but in all likelihood he will have no problem being ready for the start of the season. |
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
The NFC East has had some serious BAD LUCK this year.... :(
|
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
Redskins - Portis.
Eagles - McNabb. Giants - Their entire team. And look at what assholes have escaped the injury bug this year. Ugh. It honestly makes me want to vomit. And I try to not care about sports that much, but why does a team with a bunch of assholes have to be good. Sometimes I feel like karma or something is gang-raping me in a prison shower. Like, why can't they just suck and we be good for a change? But no, instead they beat the previously undefeated Colts, possibly have their franchise QB and a young defense that'll be good for years to come even if the offense won't. Fuck. |
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
Yeah, and who beat the undefeated COLTS??? Vomit, vomit, vomit!!!
Thank you God for the win against the Cowgirls this year!! |
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
now we might win another game in the division YAYYYYYYYYY
|
Re: McNabb Out For The Season
If we're lucky. We're letting people like Gradcowski light us up, why not Detmer or Garcia or whoever it is? Hell, we can't even stop Westbrook.

Re: McNabb Out For The Season
Now Aaron Rodger is out for the year also with a broken foot. Not as big a deal as McNabb being out I suppose but it even further delays his career
