Yea NEVER EVER would I WANT dallas to win anything. They dominated a bad Bucs team, which doesn't say much for the Skins who lost to them last week.
I agree, ANYBODY BUT DALLAS

My hatred for the Cowboys far exceeds the hatred I have for the Giants. In fact, they're third on my most hated list behind Philly.

And yes, this thread is ironic considering the screen name of the guy who started it.

why? eli manning, shockey, barber......it goes on and on. they are the most over hyped, over confident, and overrated players in the league, plus they think they own every one.

The main reason I come here and not go and look at porn is to talk about how good our team is. Well, I guess it's back to porn.

Romo is looking like a sick, sick QB. He honestly looks as good as any QB in this league right now. I'm praying for that he's just another Tommy Maddox (great one year, shitty the next).

He couldn't beat us ,,LOL !! But I hope this is a wake up call for our FO , to STOP trading 2 to 4 draft picks for one player and STOP paying out these huge sighning bonus's to average players . I could be wrong , but I bet we have more draft picks invested in M. Brunnel, JC , Loyd and Cooley than Philly or dalASS has in there entire offences , not to mention we have alot less money to spend on FA's and very few draft picks . Good news , Synder will spend some $ on a DE and we could find a CB and another DL in the draft , we could be a good team again nexrt yr .

Well there is always the Professional Bowlers Tour playing on Sundays.
And yes Romo's only loss was to Washington. But Dallas had 11 penalties for 153 yards in that game. Romo still passed for 284 and 2 TD's.

With those penalties it was not so much that Washington won the game, it was more like Dallas LOSS the game.

Re: The Cowboys!

Romo looks good but I have to see him play for another year before he can even be considered for the privilege of riding the same bus as the elite QBs.

The Cowboys are providing great protection for Romo. In the NFL, if you can protect your QB you're going to get the W's and the stats.

The Giants are a fraud. The Eagles are a fraud. I find myself hating the Giants more than Dallas THIS YEAR because the same hype machine that put Harry Carson in the HoF and keeps Art Monk out, is the same hype machine that fluffs the Giants and Donovan. I feel vindicated when they are exposed for the average teams they are.

The Cowboys are poised to make a run. The latent Cowboy hater in me would like to see them do all the hard work to gain the ultimate prize and then be denied the summit in the final hour. (I want them to have a soul crushing loss in the final minutes, nay seconds of the Championship or the Super Bowl) I want to see that suicidal look on Parcell's face again. The look that he had after Novak's kick.

A loss is a loss is a loss. Just like a win is a win is a win. That game (WAS vs. DAL) is THE definition of a rivalry. It doesn't matter who has what record, it's always anybody's game. You don't have to make excuses for the loss, or cry about the 15 yard facemask penalty, or the penalty yards, or whatever. Deal with it. Given your cake schedule this year (second easiest in the NFL) you should probably be 9-1 with Da Bears, but you're not. What's your excuse for the other three losses, other than the fact that you got outplayed and outcoached?

Only game outplayed in was vs NYG. The other 3 losses were primarily due to Dallas leading the league in penalties.

Dallas is in the top 10 in just about every category (offensive and defensive) in the league. Take away HALF of those penaties and the record is much better than 7-4.

It is much easier for me to explain 4 losses than for anyone else to explain the Redskins 7.

Are any of our Cowboy guests old enough to remember what it's like to LOSE a Championship Game or a Super Bowl? If not, you'll find out this year. Then no more Parcells. Only Jones.

Jesus, the Cowboys only had to be contenders again for half a day and I can, once again, feel that hatred rising in me.

You don't lose games by committing penalties alone. You lose games by not making plays when you need to. Likewise you win games by making plays when you need to. Like blocking a potentially winning field goal and then making a winning field goal. Or throwing two long bombs in the span of 2:16 to win the game.

I'll easily explain our seven losses. Our defense stinks, and our offense has been inconsistent at best.

mheisig 11-24-2006 05:57 PM

Re: The Cowboys!

As much as I hate to admit it, Romo does look like the real deal. I'm extremely impressed at how well he moves in the pocket. He's not a "scrambler" per se, though he can run when he needs to, but he really feels the pressure and gets the ball off when he has to.

It also doesn't hurt that he has Terry Glenn and TO to throw to - and Crayton is turning into a good WR as well. I'd argue that Dallas perhaps has the best WR tandem in the NFC. In the NFL as a whole I think the Colts with Wayne and Harrison are still tops.

Uh well YEAH, you do lose by committing an abundance of penalties. Gives your team a long field and the opposition a shorter field. An abundance of penalties create scoring opportunities for the opposition and denies your own team those same scoring chances.

And I dont think your defense stinks at all, just not managed the way they should. And your offense is capable of soooo much more. Who is a better WR Santana Moss or Kenan McArdell? Well that is who Rivers is tossing to. They have LT, yes, but my god, Washington has Clinton Freaking Portis! If the coaches prepared a game plan like they should and use thier key players like they should, the Skins should be in first place in the division. Compare a trio like Portis, Moss and Cooley against McArdell, Gates and LT. LT is the real stud there and I would take Moss over McArdell any day of the week and twice on Sundays. And if given the chance Cooley could really break out.

70Chip 11-25-2006 11:20 AM

Re: The Cowboys!

Penalties are not the result of random bad luck. Dallas got those penalties because they violated the rules of the game. You can say that Dallas would have done this or that if not for the penalties. By the same token, you could say that if Dallas were forced to play within the rules then this or that. Penalties are part of the game. Just like turnovers or running the football or special teams. They're not a seperate category that allows Dallas to claim victim status.

Here's an article for you to read concerning penalties and how overrated they are in terms of winning and losing. They just don't have the effect you are trying to make it out to be.
FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Football analysis and NFL stats for the Moneyball era - Authors of Pro Football Prospectus 2005

And yes, our defense does stink. We let too many key players go through free agency, our defensive coaches are to egotistical to understand that it's the players that make the difference and not their scheme. We have two secondary coaches that don't even talk to each other, and an offensive coordinater that won't fix the myriad of problems because he thinks his shit don't stink. Yes, defensively we are a mess. Our offense hasn't been the problem, and it will get even better with Campbell, but it's too little too late. You just can't be a contender if you don't have a defense that can get off the field.
