Billick's is the most hilarious. The QB depth chart made me choke on my Fritos.

LOL!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD. That is some funny ass shit. Calling Holmgrem Craig Stadler almost made me fall out of my chair in laughter. Marty's was funny too.

Instead of the serenity prayer, I was thinking it should be the 23rd Psalm.

"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil".

Definately sums up our season.

Gibbs is religious and I think that has clouded his judgement toward certain players.

I think that's a pretty assanine statement that doesn't have much solid proof. It didn't cloud his judgement when it came to Ramsey that's for sure.

Maybe not but it did for Bruenell.

That had to do with Brunell being a veteran and being Gibbs' hand picked guy.

That' was also part of it but I wouldnt rule out the fact that MB was also religious and they prayed together.

He prayed with Ramsey too though.

washingtonpost.com: Redskins' Gibbs Keeps the Faith

"Mann said the coach did not directly impose his beliefs on others, pointing to players like John Riggins, a free spirit who rebelled against religion or any other form of authority, and Dexter Manley, who, it was later revealed, suffered from a serious drug problem."

"Quarterback Patrick Ramsey, who said he is a born-again Christian, said their shared evangelistic faith will give them "a chance of a deeper connection as we get to know each other." Ramsey is fighting Brunell for the starting job next season. Like Brunell, Ramsey said he has prayed with Gibbs over meals and talked about their mutual beliefs."

Maybe that caused Gibbs to hang on to PR too long who knows. But there is no way I can be convinced otherwise about MB.

As for anything having to do with how Gibbs handled Riggo and anyone else from that era, thats ancient history and Gibbs just isnt the same person he was back then.

So what are you saying? Brunell prayed with Gibbs more times than Ramsey did? And this is why Gibbs picked Brunell?

Re: Whats On Gibbs Clipboard?

Thanks for posting that article Tafkas. I hadn't seen it.

The argument about players getting special treatment from Gibbs because of their faith is stupid, tired and old. Again, this would not be an issue if we were winning.

The whole team has played badly this season, saints and sinners alike.

No. I'm saying because Gibbs prayed with MB he was not able to bench him when he should have. Its like in any job, the guys that play golf & cards with the boss are not usually the ones that get laid off.

Don't bother. He's already said he's not going to change his mind. Let him be happy believing Gibbs makes critical team decisions based on religion.

That's right! Though I think Crisp is on the rocks, he hasn't been praying hard enough lately.

Re: Whats On Gibbs Clipboard?

I think we can all agree that Gibbs wanted very badly for Brunell to work out, and he stuck with MB too long. However, I wouldn't pin it all on a common savior. Gibbs loves vets, he brought in MB, and MB did what was (minimally) necessary to get us into the playoffs last year. He should have pulled the plug on MB in the Indy game, but at least he figured it out this year.

Yeah, because we NEED guys like Koren Robinson, Chris Henry, Terrell Owens and Lawrence Phillips on our team.

He picks guys who work hard, stay out of trouble and commit themselves to team-play rather than individual stats...that's why Lavar was sent packing.

Gibbs has loyalties, though - don't underestimate that. That can be a strength or a weakness.

I'd take Chris Henry as long as you have some strong vets in the locker room. He sure is a hell of a lot better than Brandon LLoyd.

Re: Whats On Gibbs Clipboard?

Are you guys serious? Joe Gibbs is a man of faith, and that's one of the biggest reasons why I have so much respect for the man, well that and those three Super Bowl trophies. I think Coach Gibb's faith gives him better perspective on running this football team, and he knows life is more important than just football. If there was a Coach of the Year award for just common decency and generosity Coach Gibbs would win hands down! Speaking of loyalty, I guess if he didn't have any loyalty he would have never come back to the mess that Synder and the boys have made here, he would have gone somewhere where they knew how to run a football team. It says a lot about the man's character that he decided to come back only with the Redskins!

That IS hilarious!

As for Gibbs: Irish does have a point ... like he said, people who are "friends" with the boss have a little more job security -- I don't think religion is the key though. I think ODS said it best, "Gibbs has loyalties..."

Of course he has loyalties, all coaches do.

I just don't think his personal religious beliefs play a role in his decision making.
