Re: Now Mr Aikman shut up
I'll freely admit I was pissed when we went for the FG, I invite everyone else who was as well....
guess I was wrong |
Re: Now Mr Aikman shut up
I was not pissed I said..good saunders isn't making calls again
|
Re: Now Mr Aikman shut up
Eh if they had scored a touchdown then it would have been the wrong decision and this forum would be alight with millions of posts saying "WTF was Gibbs thinking" and "The man has lost his touch" and "The game has passed him"
Come Hell or High Water Gibbs will make th ecall to the best of his ability for what the situation presents and you have to trust him and the defense. |

that guy is just a total idiot, but since he played for dallas,i can see why he's so antiredskin.despite being a cowboy hall of famer,i think aikman is pretty fair when he calls redskins games.personally,i think he is the best analyist calling nfl games today. |
Re: Now Mr Aikman shut up
Baldinger is an immense anal douche.

agreed, and coach made the right choice, in case you werent watching, the skins won |
Re: Now Mr Aikman shut up
The FG to go up 16-10 was absolutely the correct call. That forced the Saints to go the length of the field, something they couldn't do all day.

True, but they would've had to have done the same if we had went for it and didn't get it. |

But they could have kicked a FG for the tie. |

I agree with you about Aikman, and I wish some of what he has would rub off on his former teammate, and current colleague in broadcasting Moose Johnston. |

Yeah, this is true. Gibbs did say he would've went for it on fourth down if it was like 4th and one. Speaking of field goals, we have to feel really good about Susiessnsnsnman! LOL!!! |
Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
It was without a doubt the wrong call. If the Redskins got 2 yards, the game would be over, if they didnt the Saints would be 25 yards farther back. Even if they had the same drive they that they did, they wouldnt have been able to kick a field goal because they would be in worse field position. Gibbs just got lucky.

Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
Yeah Suisham is now 7/7 the last 2 weeks!

How can you say it was without a doubt the wrong call, when it was a call that clearly helped to win the game?? |
Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
Either way, it was the defense who ultimately won the game for us at the end there. I don't believe I would've been disappointed if we had went for it on 4th down. Either way, we won the ball game. That's the most important thing.

Thanks for the clarification... nice talking to u. |
Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
What if the Skins had gone for it and didn't get a 1st down or a TD and NO tied it up and won in OT?
Everyone would be saying how that was the wrong call and you have to get the points in order to go up by more than a FG with 4 min left in the game. |

Remember, it is easier kicking field goals inside a dome than it is outside with a breeze blowing. I guess you have to think of it in terms like this: #1 offense in the league, and no matter how good our defense had been playing, it has been notorious this year for giving up big drives when we needed a stop. While certainly a TD by us would've put the game pretty much out of reach. |

With that three points, NO was forced to score a TD on their last drive with no other options available. The pass to Moss, prior to the FG, I would have liked to see go pass the first down marker as opposed to two yds. short, then maybe Gibbs would not have had to make that FG decision at all. |
Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
I can't decide who is more annoying Baldinger or Bill Maas, both of those guys are huge bafoons.
|
Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
Baldy still couldn't say Antwaan today. LOL
By the way Maas is by far the worst announcer in the history of sports. Baldinger isn't even in the same conversation as Maas. |

I know this is a football forum, but Bill Walton makes me want to put a bullet in my skull when I hear him announce a game. |

I really want to hear Walton and Charles Barkley announce a game together, that may be the funniest duo of sports commentators ever. |

I agree Gabe. Walton is corny yet funny. i always love it when he say Throw it down Big Man, Throw it dooowwwwwwwwwnn ! Football matter though, I think it was a good call to kick the field goal. Showed he had faith in his defense that had been holding the Saints in check for most of the game. |
Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
Gibbs had no choice but to kick the field goal, but I question the playcalling that lead up to having to settle for a field goal.

Re: Now Mr. Baldinger shut up
Baldinger sucks as a commentator but I did think the Skins should have gone for it on 4th & 2. They have nothing to lose and the way they were running the ball I think they would have made it. In the end the Skins almost lost the game because of that unagressive approach.
