Owens is now denying it happened of course. That dude really is crazy, he admitted to it after the game, now he's denying it?! |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
What a douche. I'm glad he's getting fined.
TO seems like that dude that will throw the first punch but then run away........ |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Like Melloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!

Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
This maybe his last season in the NFL. Unless the Raiders want him.

Um, no. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Twice the fine that Taylor received for something that wasn't even caught on camera. I think that because it is T.O., they made an example out of him. If I were a Cowboys fan I would be screaming about the injustice... but I'm not a Cowboys fan so GREAT!!!

Yea but Taylor was removed from the game and penalyzed which really could have hurt the skins and again it is TO |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
What a punk...TO should have been fined and suspended.
|
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
the cowboys got what they paid for.

Should Taylor have been suspended? |

hell no |

Then the league ruling in this case was fair. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Is there a video that shows T.O. spitting??? Because at first there was no video that showed spit during the broadcast, but the NFL Network showed the actual spit flying. And that made ST look like an idiot because he lied about it.
I wonder if this will happen to T.O. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Should Taylor have been suspended?
He was ejected from the game, a playoff game at that. TO would have been ejected if the refs saw him spit. I think it's only fair he miss some time on the playing field. As for Taylor, I for one would not have been upset if he was suspended because I believe spitting in someones face is worse than throwing a punch or juicing up. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
I think all the talk about spitting is hilarious. I wonder what old school players like Art Donovan would have thought about all this fuss.
D. Hall is a punk b*#ch. Doesn't anyone remember all that talk he did after ATL played Det. If he feels so disrespected by the act, then do something about on the field. Football is great, it allows a player to redeem himself on the field (within reason). D. Hall should have knocked TO's d*&K in the dirt instead of complaining to the media. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Dick Butkus used to spit all over the opposing center. Back of the neck, back of the centers hands while he snapped the ball, etc
|
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
I'm not sure if this was a fair ruling.
Don't get me wrong I'm not defending Owens at all, but how does a spitting fine more than double since January when Taylor got fined $17k... and they don't even have TO's offense on tape?? He's wise to appeal. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Some of the sports shows are justifying that as, the players need to get the message, and they are escalating the fines. One show suggested it should be a percentage of the players salary, to be fair. I like that

Yeah I get that, but I'm not sure that will hold up in an appeal. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Well, the sports teams in general need to get with the program, and hit these guys where it's going to hurt. If you really want to stop the NBA type stuff, and other less severe stuff, it's going to have to get much more serious. It may be interesting to see what David Stern does?

Why would they suspend TO? Taylor wasn't and they had his on tape in it's full glory. |
Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
Why would they suspend TO?
Taylor wasn't and they had his on tape in it's full glory.
I guess I consider ejection and suspension essentially the same thing. He missed playing time due to spitting. He was caught on tape and a ref saw it which led to his guilt. TO admitted to it which also leads to his guilt. Heavy fine and/or missing some game time is fair. |

I don't think Taylor lost a game check for the ejection, but, if suspended, TO would lose 1/16th of his salary for each game missed. |

Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
I hate TO and honestly it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if he had to leave football for "injury reasons" caused by me. I've never seen someone love themselves so much.
Dallas is like an evil empire. A conglomerate of all the players, coaches and fans I hate most in football (even though Eagles fans are worse). |

I can't wait until during NFC championship game and Parcels tells Tony Romo that he is his father. Then Parcels slices off Romo's hand with his light saber. Then Dallas loses the game b/c their qb has no hand. Perfect ending. |

It will cost you, when you "invite" the evil one into your home. It sucks the life out of you. Although.....very entertaining for those not involved

Re: NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall
diangeleo hall is overrated as hell, has been since he was at va tech!T.O should have owned up to doing it since he stated he did after the game.but as we all know TO gets what he wants.i think the league's players spoke volumes during the pro bowl voting,TO has more td catches than anybody in the nfc,but he finished way down on the pro bowl voting!

You're right, if the Cowboys can keep all of the crackheads (literally) like Micheal Irvin, Leon Lett, Harvey Martin, Quincy Carter, Nate Newton and others around as long as they did and a coach who carried a gun into an airport (Switzer)...they'll keep Owens for a while. They not only tolerate the scumbags of the league, they embrace them. Some goodies from the old Irvin days: What do you call a drug ring in Dallas? -A huddle. Four Dallas Cowboys in a car, who's driving? - The police Why can't Michael Irvin get into a huddle on the field anymore? - It is a parole violation for him to associate with know felons. Doctors say because of Michael Irvin's broken clavicle. - It will be 6-8 weeks before he can video a team mate having sex. I understand Chicago is trying to sign Michael Irvin. - They got rid of the refrigerator, so now they want a coke machine. The Dallas newspapers reported yesterday that Texas Stadium is going to take out the artificial turf. - The cowboys say they play better on "grass". The Dallas Cowboys adopted a new "Honor System". - "Yes your Honor, No your Honor". The Cowboys had a 12 and 5 season this year. -12 arrests, 5 convictions. The Cowboys knew they had to do something for their defense. - So they hired a new defense coordinator: Johnny Cochran. |

Taylor doesn't have a record of getting in trouble like Owens does. He just plays hard and gets the occasional facemask penalty, but he never makes people want to beat the crap out of him. (except for his incident with Pittman and he's been "good" since then) Owens just doesn't lose his cool and act like a jerk, he plans it out and choreographs it.
