NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
Buffalo Bills, National Football League, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants - CBS SportsLine.com
Miami is defintley, and from what I am hearing, its going to be the NY Giants facing them in London. Yay! So the Giants can go play a road game in a stadium that will be 75% Giant fans. |
Re: NFL Game in London likley NYG@Miami
Not as bad when they played a road game at HOME.

Re: NFL Game in London likley NYG@Miami
Why on earth would a game in London have 75% Giants fans???
The UK has fans for every team, with the Giants nowhere near the top in numbers - as a member of a UK based football forum I can tell you for a fact that probably 75% or more of the people planning to attend the game will not be a fan of either team. They (we, as I will be going even though I am a diehard Skins fan) will be going due to the fact that its an NFL regular season game, regardless for who is playing. UK based NFL fans have just as much coverage of the NFL as in the states (infact the NFL Network games are all shown here, whereas I believe some areas in the states cannot get them!). Personally to say that it will be 75% NY fans seems narrow minded, almost like saying all US soccer fans support Manchester United in the EPL. |
Re: NFL Game in London likley NYG@Miami
Giants should lose their home game after they got an extra one last year.
|
Re: NFL Game in London likley NYG@Miami
Agree with you on that one Steveo, should have made the next New Orleans away trip to NY a home game for them (Saints) instead.
Apparently both teams will have their bye weeks just prior to the game. |
Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
This is excellent...long trip will wear them out mentally for the long haul! Those overseas games take a toll on a team!

Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
I dont like this at all, this is our sport, an american sport, if they want to see games they should come here, and i dont mean that disrespectfully, I just feel like its not fair to the teams that have to go overseas, although it is pretty cool that the giants have to go, that game the saints had to play at Giants stadium was a terrible move by the NFL, I guess Kharma is a bitch after all

I agree....but its not really a bitch to NY. Yeah, they have to go overseas, but they wont have to deal with 70 thousand screaming fans in Miami. |
Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
Regular season games in Europe, expansion teams in LA, and Birmingham, Alabama...
...ick. I don't like where the NFL is headed. |

I know. But the NFL is salivating to get into the LA market. Seems like they've been doing just fine without it... And yes, another expansion would be dreadful. It spreads the talent level way to thin. At some point, the league is going to get too big for its britches. Happens to just about every successful organization. They get to be king, and they want more.... Kind of like the Romans, you know? |
Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
Yup, basketball and major league baseball both killed the goose that laid the golden egg - football is next.

Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
I thought it was the NATIONAL football league not INTERNATIONAL football league. As a season ticket holder I would be so pissed that the league would take away one of my home games and move it to London. I heard on espn news that every team will play a game outside of the US in the next 20 years. I don't understand the positives to playing overseas.

Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
im just glad the giants have to do all that unnecessary traveling. i hope the skins play them the week after the trip
|
Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
Glad the Skins don't have to play in London, it's a great city, but not exactly a football town. I hope the Giants and Dolphins have jet lag all season after that one, you know we play both of them this coming season.

Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
when gibbs came back in 2004,he wanted to bring grimm to dc then, but the chin would not let the skins talk to him.i'd love to see grimm come to dc,and maybe even be gibbs replacement in 2 years or so!as a head coach,i do'nt think greg williams could have it like grimm seems to!the skins should have never let him go any way.norv turner and marty showed what dunces they were by not even trying to keep him.

From that article:
"Over the next 16 seasons, each of the league's 32 teams will participate in a regular season game outside the United States." Our day is coming. |

No way, the NFL would love to send Mr Snyder to S Korea or something like that, followed up by a game on Thursday. |
Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
i hope the giants have to play the skins the next week after they return home.
or since the skins and fins play next year, maybe they will. |
Re: NFL Game in London likely NYG@Miami
If any of you had ever traveled to London from NY - or Washington for that matter -, you'd know that the flight time to London is not all that much more than the flight time to LA or San Diego. The Dolphins are the ones having the more tedious journey here.
The NFL dearly wants to introuduce "American Football" to China. They are thinking of putting on a Pro Bowl game in Beijing if they can get the legal aspects of their contract with Honolulu worked out. And if that happens, look for a regular season game in Beijing sometime soon. The very obvious and simple simple solution to the "jet lag problem" is to give any team playing overseas a bye in the next week of the season. |
