Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
Let's here em'
Ok I predict for the NFC Title Game, Redskins 30 Bears (oh wait that was just in my dreams) NFC: Bears over Saints 24-17. I think the Bears will thrive on the "us vs. The World" type thing thats going on. Unless you're a bears fan, you're rooting for the Saints most likley, but I think the Bears pull it out. AFC: Colts over Pats 21-20. Part of me still think NE wins...and if the Colts dont win this year, they never will. |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
NFC:
Saints over Bears in a touchdown difference game. The Bears D over the last 5 weeks has given up 26 PPG, that going against the #1 offense sounds like trouble! AFC: Colts DOMINATE the patriots and win by 21+. I know this is a bold prediction, but the Colts have a reputation to beat. At the RCA dome they'll crush the pats and get rid of that whole Brady/Bellichek monkey on their way to winning the Super bowl! I should also mention that Tom Brady has been nothing more than average for most of this year, and he can't turn the ball over like he has vs Indy. Peytons throws for 350! |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
The Bears defense has been playing poorly of late, but the Saints defense is even worse. Special teams might mean a lot in this game, and the Bears sport the pro bowl Kicker and Kick Returner. I think both QBs will play well, but ultimately this game will be controlled by defense and special teams. Bears in a squeaker.
A lot more media heads are taking the Colts in this game then I would think. To me, that's a red flag. I'm going to choose to ignore it. The Colts finally get the Patriots at home, and barring a defensive breakdown, should control this game. I'm taking the Colts. |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
Da Bears in a crushing defeat over the Saints. I see them scoring in all facets of the game: Defense, Special Teams, and Offense. The Saints will barely be able to move the ball at all. 28-3
My heart really wants a Bears versus Pats rematch but my stomach will revolt in Spartacusian fashion. The Colts have a better offense than the Chargers and their Defense is playing respectable (so far). I think they beat the Pats by about 10. Let's say 24-10 What better Super Bowl to have than a gritty, tough NFC defense versus a high-flying, efficient AFC offense? Just like the good ole days! |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
saints will destroy the bears........34 to 10
colts will beat pats........27 to 24 highest scoring superbowl ever colts beat saints........51 to 49 |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
Bears will win 24-13. Saints play in a dome. We all know how dome teams fair outside of the controlled climate. It'll be 30 degrees and snowing by game time. The "hawk"(wind) will definitely be out on sunday.
Colts will win 27-21. Peyton finally beats Brady in the big game to get the "monkey" off his back. |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
Bears 27 Saints 17
Colts 27 Patriots 24 |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
I say,
Colts over Pats Bears over Saints |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
INDY - NE is a defensive struggle.
Teams boths start out looking like crap, ends 23 - 17 with INDY starting slow finding their groove in the 2nd half. CHI - NO Chicago (Grossman) doesn't show up. NO wins 21-6. |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
Can I make a prediction that the Bears-Saints game will be decided by the officials? Am I allowed to do that?

Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
Im honestly surprised that all of you picked the Colts. Its really hard to bet against Belichick and Brady. I think they are 11-1 in the playoffs together and they always find a way to win even on the road. I honestly picked the Chargers last week, but now think its an impossibility to bet against the Pats. They always seem to have Indys number in the playoffs.
Patriots 28 Colts 24 The Saints are the #1 Offense in the league but are playing in Chicago. If Grossman showed any kind of consistentcy I'd have to go with the Bears, but since he can't do that I can't either. It will be tight game until late in the second half when the Saints pull away. Saints 21 Bears 13 Im sure there will be a superbowl prediction thread so until then, I'll keep my picks to myself. Plus if Im wrong I get to start over. |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread

Patriots 28 Colts 24
Well, the Colts-Pats game strikes me as one that will be decided in a way by luck. Which way will the close calls go, which way will the ball bounce, who will screw up in crucial situaitons? I really don't think theres a wrong pick here and I'm equally surprised as you that everyone in the world is taking the Colts. If the Colts win, it will be all like "How could you bet against the Colts at home." If the Pats win, its all about "How could you bet against Brady/Belichick in the playoffs". It just seems like a game where the fan is always wrong. |
its going to be a patriots vs. saints super bowl.
I don't see two upsets...I think the safe money is on the Colts and Bears, but I wouldn't be shocked to see one or the other contest fall the other way.
I'd be very surprised if both road teams won. |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
colts over patriots
saints over bears saints win the superbowl (so far i got every prediction right except for the chargers game,, what a shame) |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
saints over da bears-24-21(bears had the league's easiest schedule)
colts 38-24 over the patriots (i think that the league is hoping for a saints/colts matchup because of the katrina angle/the saints being payton's fave team as a little boy.) |

Pats 38 Colts 24 The patriots can change their identity on a whim and look like a completely different team one week to the next. They will dominate the colt's defense. Saints 28 Bears 24 This one was my iffy one, because the saints kinda squeaked it out against the eagles at home, but every time I've bet against them this year I lost. Go Saints!! |
Re: Championship Sunday Prediction Thread
As badly as I want the Saints to win, and as much as I believe that on a neutral field they really are the better team, I just can't see a team that plays in a dome going on the road and winning in Soldier Field, in January, in a conference title game. The Saints are a great story, but this is the time of year that the great stories tend to fall by the wayside.
Chicago 20 New Orleans 17 My head tells me that, all things being equal, the Colts are slightly better, meaning they're distictly better at home. My gut tells me that Dungy and Manning are both due, that Belichick and Brady have another title coming but not this year, with this team, and that I'm about to pay dearly for all the mouthing off I've been doing in the ongoing Brady vs. Manning debate. History talks louder than both. Show me. New England 29 Indianapolis 27 |
