What a game!!!!!!!!!!!

What a way for the Colts and Peyton Manning to finally get to the Super Bowl! That was absolutely incredible!

Instant playoff classic!

No way the Super Bowl tops that one.

I lost a lot of interest early on when the pats jumped to 21-3. I'm glad I kept the game on because that was an exciting 4th quarter.

Awesome Game, peyton proved he wasnt a choke artist and stormed his team back, simply amazing game. I think it calls for the locking of the iceman thread and all the banter it came with.

That Colts-Pats game was one for the ages. I'll be telling my grandkids about this one.

I was an exciting second half, for sure. If Manning and the Colts can do it again in a couple of weeks then the monkey will be officially off their back, but Manning and the boys came a long ways today!

You also have to feel great for Tony Dungy after all he went through last season. Shows nice guys can finish first!

Colts basically marched the field after Pats got a penalty before their drive started. 3 and out and the colts got the ball back with like 230 left. Couple big plays and it's 1st and 10 with 1:56 on the 11. TD. 1:00 left. Brady makes a couple pl;ays then throws a pick. Game.

Would you expect anything less from him? He's a great winner, but he's also a very very sore loser! Hope he enjoys watching the Super Bowl from home again this year!

He had the most sour look, which is saying a lot by his standards and his look made it very clear, he wanted no part of that interview. Usually, the losing coach will throw a congrats out (which he did do later) and just be classy in defeat, but not him.

The Colts overcame a lot with that game. I don't think the Bears can stop the well-oiled machine but they can definitely run the ball and if the Colts don't play better on teams, Hester may score 5 times. I think it will be a very good Super Bowl.

I have to admit the game itself was a good one but, I was and never will be a Payton Manning fan. I was really pulling for the Pats and I hope to God Indy loses in the SB.

What is he supposed to do. Talk about how they "are all in it together" and how "he wouldn't want to be with a better group of guys?" Winners (Belicek, MJ, Bird, Magic) don't take losing very well that is why they don't lose very often. Wilcotts didn't exactly ask the greatest questions either.

He shook hands with Dungy and wished him well. That was a tough loss so I'm sure no coach would be in the mood to talk to reporters.

You people, how quick we are to turn on a man that has brought such great happiness to our sporting life's. Gibbs may give cliched answers at his press conferences, but at least he's classy, win or lose (and there were way too many "or lose" moments this season, admittedly)! It's amazing how today's society turns on people so quickly, it is what it is, I guess. If we win again next season, he'll be the greatest coach ever again to you folks!

Re: What a game!!!!!!!!!!!

Bellicheck is someone I really really dont like, and I almost root against the Pats just because of him. I like an awful lot of players on that team, but Bellicheck just really chapps my ass. But at the same time, I get really mad at Gibbs for not being more pissed after losses. Bellicheck just seems like a bitter guy to me overall, even in winning.

On the game, what a classic. One of the best I have ever seen without a doubt.

I have not turned on him, but after 6-10 and 5-11 seasons (along with several personnel blunders) he is certainly begging for some criticism. Also, from many of the stories that came out it is obvious that he isn't the same guy that won 3 Super Bowls. Do I think he is incapapble of winning another, no but they will need a flawless offseason to get there.

The "blind loyalty" that you have displayed is a bigger problem than some ribbing of our coach. If fans don't voice their concerns vocally and with their wallet then the Redskins will continue to be number one in market cap and near the bottom in wins.

Don't forget that Manning did it with an injured thumb on his throwing hand. On a follow-through, he nailed a lineman's helmet with his right thumb. He looked like he was in a lot of pain and was working on it for the rest of the game (flexing it to keep it mobile). The cameras even caught him telling Sorgi to "be ready".

It was an awesome game. I hope he does win the Super Bowl so he can finally shut the media and Pats fans up. All they ever do is constantly bash him for not winning the Super Bowl.

It should be a GREAT Super Bowl...an awesome offense vs. an awesome defense. I'm having trouble picking a winner...to me, it could go either way. I'm leaning to the Colts though.

I'm just happy the Patriots didn't make it AGAIN and that we won't have to endure 8 hours of Hurricane Katrina stories on Super Sunday.

Oh...and Manning didn't "rush up the middle for a 1 yard loss" with 0:16 left in the game...he took a knee. :)

All true, excellent points there. Like I've said recently though, I would be right there with you in criticizing Gibbs, and saying the game has passed him by if it wasn't for that 2005 playoff season. Now if he doesn't get it turned around next season, then I think he may need to seriously consider stepping down, not only for the good of the team but for his own good as well.

I'll be the first to admit that trading a 3rd round pick for TJ Duckett, among other moves, was nothing short of idiocy, his GM skills are not on par with his coaching skills right now. If you say I have "blind loyalty" you're dead on, when a guy has helped to bring 3 super bowl titles to your favorite team then that kind of thing tends to happen! He's also an incredibly decent human being to boot. Also tell me what you mean by, "Also, from many of the stories that came out it is obvious that he isn't the same guy that won 3 Super Bowls." What, has a mellowed too much, or something?

I was referring to the Tom Friend article which referred to Gibbs 2.0 as more of a grandfather around the park. Friend covered the Redskins during the glory years and remembered how Gibbs dealt with losing during his first tenure. Friend (and former players) confirmed that weeks when they lost, Gibbs was almost physically consumed by it. He would focus so hard that he couldn't go home from the park. I don't blame Gibbs for not being able to match that intensity now but I definitely think that losses are acceptable now and that is a problem.

I agree with you that he should step down if we have another painful year and I think that he would. Now, as far as people's comments that the game has passed him by, I do not agree. I would argue that every NFL football coach has approximately the same knowledge base when it comes to x's and o's, fundamentals etc.... What made Gibbs a Hall of Famer was his ability to motivate people and have them buy into a common goal. Joe Gibbs can still coach and motivate players (see the running game in '05 and the second half of '06). The one crack in the armor that I saw was him giving up the offense this year. It seems that he has lost some confidence for even considering that move.

All that being said the offseason has started well for us in the division. Man Boobs is gone and Barber has retired. All they need to do is have a good offseason and we are right in the middle of it.

Yeah, I read that Tom Friend article, it was an interesting expose to say the least. Friend doesn't really impress me much, on many levels, but it was a pretty good article. I think one of things going against Gibbs this time around, which is probably obvious, is that he's nearing 70 years old and is a diabetic. He probably doesn't have nearly the energy level he once did, and isn't able to capitalize on his talents the way he once did because of it.
