Let's do it: Super Bowl Predictions!

After watching both NFC and AFC championship games, I think the Colts will absolutely devastate the Bears in this Super Bowl. The Colts have the experience and the leadership. The Bears Offense is still suspect and I think they will need to try to keep up with the Colts as far as scoring rather than rely on their D to stop the Colts.

I'm predicting a sleeper by the 3rd quarter with the Colts finishing 42-14.
By the way, I'm rooting for the Bears (hard to believe after reading what I just wrote).

What do guys think?

Da Bears.
Manning is a pussy. He doesn't want to get hit. You are going to see the worst game of manning career.
With that being said, The bear will barely hold on to a win.

There is no way this game is better than the AFC Championship game.
Today the line is Colts by 7. I'll say Colts 35 Bears 17.

I think the Colts break the back of the Bears D and put up 42. Colts 42 Bears 20

24-16 Bears.

Colts will only get 3 field goals when it matters, Then get a late TD at the end of the game when there is very little time left.

Re: Let's do it: SB Predictions!

Great offense and great defense, which means...I'm gonna take the Bucs to beat the Raiders. I predict Dexter Jackson gets at least two picks...

Bears win big. Peyton puts up some points early, but its going to get to a point when he's being forced to go 85 yards to score every drive because of the Bears' dominance on special teams. The Colts D won't stop either the pass or the run, and the Bears create some second half turnovers to put it out of reach.

42-24.

Why do professional atheletes shamelessly deliver praise to Jesus every time they win a significant confrontation. I mean, do you really think the Lord gives a shit about first downs and red flag challenges? Is the Lord up there in the Big Ol' Sky starin' at his Big Ass 1080i Hi Def Flat Screen Plasma LCD HD TV that he "totally doesn't even know what that means but he wants it". What if there isn't a Lord after all. What if the Lord that Jim Irsay is referring to is Lord Helmet from Spaceballs. Well I would comb the desert and while we're talking about sand, do you remember that shit about "Footsteps"...well I guess Jesus, needs to update that shit to read...""My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. Spaceballs TAFKAS, Spaceballs! Dang...Came out in '87, it's a Mel Brooks classic. I know this is officially completely off topic and that was not my intention. I just really get steamed to hear money-mogels toss a parade on behalf of something that has nothing to do with winning anything except Roman-Catholic Jeopardy.

I say manning showed me he is not afaid to stand in there and take a hit. And if the colts D resembles the performance of the last couple games, its lights out for da bears offense,

Colts - 34

Bears - 17

Re: Let's do it: SB Predictions!

As the bears D-line will most likely be missing their best 2 players, I'll go with the SB usual blow out. Call it 49-12 DA Colts.

Btw this article is relevant: SI.com - Writers - Lester Munson: Bears DT Johnson may not go to Miami - Monday January 22, 2007 10:53AM

The stupidity of some people amazes me. This guy is going to miss out of playing in a SuperBowl because he wants to be a gangster instead of a football player.

Re: Let's do it: SB Predictions!

If Manning plays horrible and the game remains close, then I'll say the Bears. But if Manning breaks that Chicago D, and it turns into a shootout, the Colts will win easily. The Bears don't have a good enough offense to keep up in a shootout.

Re: Let's do it: SB Predictions!

I see this game as very similar to the Giants/Bills (Norwood miss) Super Bowl. The Colts have a great O (like the Bills) and the Bears have a great D (like the Giants). I remember back then the talk was how the Giants will never be able to keep up with the Bills but the did by keeping the Bills O off the field. If the Bears can keep Manning & Co. off the field then they will win. I think they can do, and if I'm getting 7 points I like it even better.

Bears 20
Colts 17

That's hilarious!

I'm pulling for the Colts, but I feel like the bears are going to win because of their defense, running game, and special teams.
Bears - 27
Colts - 17

Re: Let's do it: SB Predictions!

I think both defenses step up and have huge games, leaving this to be low scoring. Manning will struggle, as will Grossman, and it'll be up to Gould and Vinatieri. While I'm pulling for the Bears, Peyton will make Daddy proud.

Colts 18
Bears 12

???? Explain tough guy. He just beat the Ravens and the Patriots. You don't think their defenses are just as nasty as the Bears, the Ravens defense was even better!

TheMalcolmConnection 01-23-2007 09:31 AM

Re: Let's do it: SB Predictions!

Honestly, I think the Bears defense scores twice. It's all about which Grossman shows up. If he can at least play AVERAGE, the Bears win 24-20.

How exactly is Petyon Manning a pussy? Thats freaking laughable. The guy has not missed a single start since 1997, and thats because he wasent in the league yet. 1998-2006, 8 years, he started all (16*8) games.

I dont care if he wants to get hit or not, would you wanna get hit with those guys flying at you unprotected, the guy still manages to be the best quarterback this league has seen since Marino hung it up (I'll hear the Brady debate though).

However....I'll be rooting for Indy, but I could easily say the Bears winning, and will go as far to say I think they will. The Bears and Redskins are two perfect examples of just how important 1 aspect of the game is: Turnovers. The Bears create them, they are in the Super Bowl, the Redskins dont, they have the 6th pick in the draft. The Bears ability to create turnovers is huge. I see them winning it in a very close, competitive Super Bowl, we'll say 31-27

Bears 28
Colts 17

The Colts WRs are gonna be hurtin' from the beating the Bears D will give them. It's gonna be hard for them to get open. Combine that with the Bears special teams and the Colts weak defense, and it doesn't look good for the Colts.

The Colts wide receivers weren't hurting when they played the Ravens, why is it that they're going to be hurting against the Bears and they seemed to do enough to win against Ed Reed, Chris McAlister, Ray Lewis and Company. The Colts weak defense? Have you watched them in the playoffs? Their defense has been playing nasty, absolutely nasty.
So far in the playoffs, the Colts have done this against their opponents
The Chefs: 82 Yards passing, 44 yards rushing.
Ravens: 161 yards passing, 100 yards rushing
Patriots: 226 passing, 93 rushing
In the playoffs they have caused 6 turnovers.
But hey, their defense is weak. Colts win this game, no question.

I won't be surprised if the Bears do win this game.

They have that magic formula for winning championships, a tough D and a great running game. If Grossman can just be average and not give the game away, it could be a very close game.

I really don't think the Bears are getting enough credit. They're 15-3 and they just steamrolled the Saints and they're 7 point dogs??

The Ravens defense is good, but they are not even close to the Bears, IMO. The Bears defense is the most physical defense I've seen in a while.

226 yards passing, 93 yards rushing, 34 points, and 1 sack is your idea of a "nasty" defense? Get real.

ArtMonkDrillz 01-23-2007 10:26 AM

Re: Let's do it: SB Predictions!

And don't forget how good the Bear's special teams are, especially when compared to the fact that Indy just gave up something like 220 kick return yards this past Sunday.
Then again, Manning has two weeks to prepare for a defense that Tony Dungy basically helped develope. It's hard to have too many doubts in Colts' offense.
