Favre Back for Another Year

He's returning in 2007

Re: Favre Back for Another Year

Wow, no 3-month soap opera this year?

I wonder if it had anything to do with Rodger's broken leg.

Most likely, Favre will keep playing until he's injured so badly that he can't anymore, whether his performance merits another year or not. I don't forsee a pretty ending to his career...he's already past his good years and just won't give up. I admire the work ethic and passion, but he's going to embarrass himself by staying around too long.

I thought Farve look better this year and he had a very young team. He passed for over 3800 yards and had 18 TD's and only 18int's. LOL but most of his int's came when his team was way down and he was trying to make something happen. Thats one thing I do like about Farve is when his team is down and out he will take those chances and try to get lucky with some big plays instead of rolling over.

Re: Favre Back for Another Year

I definately thought Favre looked pretty good. Granted, his TD-INT ratio isn't the best, but neither are his wideouts (or his O-line). Moreover, Favre understandably takes a lot of chances when he is playing from behind. Unfortunately, Green Bay's defense is bad enough that he is often playing catch-up.

Me too. I think he should keep playing until he isn't good anymore. That didn't happen last year. He is still good.

He had himself a nice bounce back season last year. I don't see how he's embarrassing himself at all.

I don't think he'll hang on too long. You can tell he's on the brink as it is, I'd give him 1 more year, 2 tops.

Usually they decline steadily after their tenth season, but most guys could honestly play at a respectable level until age 40 if they wanted to.

Chances are 2007 Favre is going to be slightly worse than 2005 and 2006 Favre, but winning is all about how well your team plays on any given Sunday, and that Packer squad is probably the 2nd best team in their division.

I'm kind of glad he's coming back. I've always wanted to visit Lambeau and I will this year and get to see him play.

favre is a good guy( at least it seems) and could still be very productive, on a good team. as stated earlier, playing from behind isnt any qbacks best friend

I have this thing about visiting historic stadiums all over the country. I DESPISE the Yankees and Red Sox, and both stadiums are on my list. Already been to Fenway, so Yankee Stadium is next on my list.

Sounds stupid I know, but if there's anything historical that I enjoy, it's sports history.

Don't know the details yet, but of course it'll be during football season. And of course, I'll be rocking my Skins gear anyway.

Just sayin.

That would most definitely be a cool meet-up option right there. The Green Bay fans seem to be pretty laid back too. Hardcore, but not assholes.

not surprised he's returning. I think he just wants to break Marino's td record of 420. He should do that this season.

Yeah, they're very hardcore, but respectful. I'm going to go with a friend and my girlfriend. If you want to meet up, PM me (in a few months of course).

well, old QBs CAN just lose it if they're scramblers that didn't have great arms to begin with (or couldn't make the transition to pocket passing), or if they become more injury prone and wear down easily (making it impossible to get through a full season).

brunell suffered from both a weak arm and a frail body... and the amazing ability to play craptasticly while injured (and refusing to sit).

Re: Favre Back for Another Year

Let 'em stay I say. We play em next year and unless our defense is in the same boat or worse(which I just don't see being possible at ALL), then Mr. Farve will probably make that Sunday a good one for us. Dont get me wrong, I like Brett Farve, but, his best years are past him and he's slipping into a Brunell like coma. Next year will probably be his last and worst. If he does ok next year, then the year after he's gone. Guaranteed. Too old and GB is probably tired of losing at this point.

There's no way the defense will be any worse. I think we'll crush the Packers and a few other teams next season. I think we'll wake up from the nightmare and get back to the sweet dreamin that 2005 brought us!

But he was also a very efficient passer with a good but not world class arm in Jacksonville, and thats what he was for us these last two seasons.

He seemed so much more hesitant to scramble in 2006 then he was in 2005. Whether that was the offense or just something he decided to do himself, I can't tell.

I would argue that a pure scrambler who never developed a passing game never had a game to lose. Quarterbacks have to be able to complete passes, and for example a guy like Vick with a career % of 54 just isn't a passer, at least yet.

Hell YEAH! Lemme break it down

Dallas: 1-2 wins
Philly: 1 win
NY: 2 wins
Detroit: win
GB: win
Miami: win
NE: LOSS
TB: win
CHI: I wont dare to say until the SB is over!
Arizona: lol, to paraphrase the wise ODB "Nigga PLEASE!"
Vikes: Win
Jets: Loss, not sure why I think so but, they have been getting it together
Bills: I think we win but, that would depend on our D SLIGHTLY improving over last year. I would die if Lee Evans did to our secondary what he does to everyone elses: smokes em for 2 65yd+ TD plays a game. Losman sucks. J.P. stands for "Just Pathetic" lol

I think we should end up rather well next year abd if we do as we should, we are NFC East champs. But, it is WAYYYYYYY to early for this. Im just REALLY drunk and thinkin bout next year.

HTTR!

2 points for that one....I f-ing HATE Rex Grossman. I played ball in Highschool and lemme tell ya, I could prolly QB better than his retard ass. Ok, just for the record, Im pretty sure that in all actuality, I couldnt do what he does. Throwing 4-for-22 for 12 yds and 5 INT's is pretty hard work if you ask me!

Great! One more year of hearing about his consecutive starts streak(pain killer addiction). One more year of seeing him throw into triple coverage for INT's and everyone saying "that's just Brett being Brett. He's a gunslinger!" Oh joy!

You never know...the way the HOF is operating these days, Jeff George might make it in before Favre.
