The only reason I know who Prince is is that I'm Oldy Oldenstein. He sold himself some records last night, though.

Since the wardrobe malfunction, they've been looking for "safe" acts. Prince actually did his thing last night.

I love Prince. He's a strange cookie, but I like most of his music. He's really talented, and he makes most of his music himself (instruments and vocals). You gotta respect that.

As for Prince, I'm glad he played his classics. But it isn't crazy how he's considered a "safe" act? Times sure have changed

I like Prince and most of his music and he is a very talented musician. With that said he needed just to play his song and not try to add so much stuff to them. Just play the dang song. I was not impressed with his show last night I thought his press performance was better.It reminded me of going to a concert and the band added so much to the songs it screwed them up.

I think it was rediculous. I hate the guy and think they are completely missing the demographic...

I mean this is a guy who dresses in women's clothing and screeches for a living... I understood the stones and mccartny playing the last two years, but football is a masculine sport! I do not want to watch a makeup wearing drawn on mustache crossdresser screaming at half time...

I did love the way he was playing his guitar through osmosis, though..

It just gave my mother-in-law a reason to watch the SB and she HATES football...

Also, the Cirq Du Soleil (SP?) pre game show was wierd...

It severely pissed me off. It was worse than when Ashley simpson played the Orange Bowl...

Why haven't they had a melange of Guns 'N' Roses, AC/DC, Metallica, etc. all on stage at once? Now THAT would be a half-time show.

Prince was alright, but the overall theme of the Super Bowl was a bit homosexual. They start it off with a french circus, then they have that Snickers commercial, then they have Prince. I found myself flipping back and forth between the Super Bowl and Queer Eye curiously. :mad:

Too bad they didn't let Prince sing his REAL classics like, "Cream".

The thing I really hate about Super Bowl halftimes are the song medleys. Why can't they just get up there and play 2-3 really good songs rather than 1 minute of like 25 different songs??

NO SHIT! We all were saying that. And his rip off of "Best of You"?! Weak. He can play the guitar, but that's like Liberace coming up and laying down from phat bass beats. It just doesn't work.

Luckily, I was taking a dump during half-time and finishing up the wings and mexican cheese dip before the game started. I was one of the fortunate ones that only had to view the football game yesterday.

Oh yeah, I missed the Snickers commerial, too!

Didn't like the foo fighters cover, but the rest of it was aiight. The pregame show was one of the dumbest things I had ever seen in my life with and as soon as I saw people acting like fish I turned it over to something else. The halftime show needs a jay-z/linkin park type combo with some energy and no french crap as the pregame entertainment.

I like a few of his songs...why is it they NEVER seem to sing one or two of their hits...purple rain was in there, but I agree, the cover was really stupid...why not something else...little red corvette was a good song...and I'm glad I missed the pre-game show. My friend called me and said it was really stupid.

I thought he was great and the crowd was really into it. When I saw the Orange Bowl in that stadium the halftime act was Cierra, and it was boooorrrrring. I laughed when she finished because she thanked all her fans out there - ugh, we are for a football game, I thought. We didnt even know you were playing until you came on.

Prince on the other hand, thats the real McCoy right thurrr.

I remember when he was doing some dumb shit awards show years ago and they axed some performer because they were running into advertising time, so he takes a break in the middle of his preformance for several minutes and announces as he looks at his watch that he's simply ticking away valuble advertising time to see if they would cut him off...

I know all those people running out onto the field didn't even know they would but when he started playing they just couldn't help themself. They probably pushed aside the cops and security and they just let it go so nothing bad happened.

like his style or not, ya gotta respect him as a musical genius... he plays like 16 instruments and composes all of his songs. that, in of itself, is work.

I was looking foward to his half time show. It just drives me crazy when a musician tries to do too much which is what he did. Its like ok we know you can play the guitar now just play the dang song.
