"Reese made it clear that he will not part with a first-day draft pick in a trade, which almost certainly eliminates Turner and probably rules Jones out, too." |
Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
I was under the impression that going into the offseason that the Giants were taking a close look at Chargers backup Michael Turner. I guess McGahee gives them some options.

Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
I would absolutely love to see McGahee with the Giants. He's an undeniable talent, but he's just one more headcase to make demands and stunt their quarterback situation. Despite his talent, he's never made the Bills into contenders - I don't see where he'd be the difference-maker in New York, either.

yeah but i dont want the skins playing mcgahee twice a year with the run d they have |
Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
always like posts that have some kind of news & appreciate those that have links.
I don't think he's worth a 1st rnd pick anyway. Why not start Brandon Jacobs & get a change of pace back in the draft? Whatever they do, for various reason I'm not as worried about the g-men. |
Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
Trading for McGahee would be retarded. Bradon Jacobs will be next year's suprise back if he gets the starting job.

what would make you think that? jacobs is a straight ahead, short yardage runner. no more, no less |

My thoughts exactly. |
Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
marion barber is a much more complete back than brandon jacobs. turner is better, mcgahee is better.
|
Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
If they are really going to give up a first round pick then I am all for this deal
what would make you think that? jacobs is a straight ahead, short yardage runner. no more, no less
So? He's powerful. He'll probably make the pro-bowl next year. Gore's style is straight ahead, Larry Johnson's style is straight ahead, Michael Turner's style is staright ahead. People seem to think highly of them.

those guys all have moves, and speed. jacobs has neither. decent speed, not breakaway, and no moves. the guy will not average over 4 per carry if he is the featured back |

Speaking of which, how did Westbrook get jipped from the pro bowl this year? That's a .500 team without him. |

Not going to happen BJ is the starter ,the Giants need D and in a BIG way the'll pick up a backup for Brandon in the later rounds ,they need LBers BIG TIME ones!:) |

Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
If Jacobs is so special why are there some many rumors about the Giants looking for another back? Just the media jumping to conclusions?

All three who made it deserved it, but Westbrook should have been the starter, IMO. |
Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
If Jacobs is so special why are there some many rumors about the Giants looking for another back? Just the media jumping to conclusions?
It makes sense because RBs are really easy to aquire these days.
They have no depth behind Jacobs whatsoever, so they pretty much have to bring in somebody and let them fight it out in camp. Jacobs may very well win the job. |
Re: Giants Eyeing Mcgahee
Plus, I think most teams realize how hard it is to do really well with just one quality back anymore. Even if Jacobs is good enough to a starter the Giants probably don't want to risk going into the season with just him.

I can't imagine that the G-men are going to let Jacobs be the full time starter. HUGE drop off from Tiki. I would assume that they have someone on the radar. But it will probably be through the draft. What free agent will want to come to NY and play for cranky Couhglin. |
