Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Not to sure about this one, maybe if he comes cheap.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
I don't think he's that effective any more.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
No
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
My personal feeling is he has to come very cheap (insert Tom Brady-supermodel joke here) and if he does then yeah at least invite him to camp.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
CHEAP is gotta be the key word. He has 4.5 sacks or less in 4 outta the last 5 seasons and he'll be 31 when the season starts. I don't think he's that much of an upgrade at the DE position.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
"Pass"
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
11.5 sacks over the last 3 years sounds worse than the guys we have.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
I think this is something that could work, as long as we don't end up in a bidding war with anyone.
Still, i think it's highly unlikely that someone out there won't overspend on this guy given where this market has been set, so i hope it doesn't end up being us |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Nah. Rather spend the money on draft picks or players that will make a significant impact.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Did anyone post yet that Adam Carriker ran a 4.72 at his pro day! That is unbelievable for a guy his size. He is a solid 290. I really think we need to scrap that Denver trade and just grab one of these young lineman. This draft is very deep on the D line.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Seattle replaced him w/ Kearney who is coming off a major injury. NO THANKS.

I like this guy too. 6'6 290, fast, can rush the passer and play the run. Sounds like a complete DE to me. |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
YOu know it took closing the thread to get the pun... lol...
dork... |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
no, winstrom is too small, and hardly ever gets to the quarterback. he isnt any better then anyone we already have
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
We can get 4 sacks out of Daniels and he plays the run well. I want Jemaal Anderson, I dont want them to trade down. If we dont trade next years picks, we will have a full draft next year.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
The Title Of This Thread Is A Play On Words... Arggghhhhhhh
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
I guess only one white dend is allowed on a team at one time....
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Did I mention no?

We got 3 sacks out of PD last year. I don't believe for a minute we are going to end up with Anderson. This guy would have to come cheap. I would hold on this one. |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
No i say we just draft for our d-line needs.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Still for Gaines Adams if they don't trade down. If they trade down take the best available. But I really want Adams at this point so that I can win the argument I've been having here at the Warpath. As you will all agree that should be the team's first consideration - to prove me right and then, finally, I will have fulfillment in life...

Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Wistrom is an overrated Big 12 never get to the QB guy.
Sure his motor keeps running, but he never seems to get anywhere. You Guys are probably getting Adams, or Anderson. Carriker won't be going where you are drafting, he isn't near the player that Adams and Anderson are. I think Anderson is more of a 3/4 OLB. But he could be a Kearse type DE. Adams is solid. Or Branch, but what does the fact that he is a DT from a stacked Defense mean? |

this is an idiotic statement |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
WHY IN F'S SAKE is a cowboy gettin a chance to voice his opinion without criticism. This thread should be deleted based on the fact that there is a post from a cowboy.

You talking about 5RINGS? He's earned the right to voice his opinion here. He's level-headed and offers a frank analysis without resorting to low-level tactics. |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
His tactics might be honorable but none the less he is still voicing his opinion from the altimate enemy and i hate having to read it.

It's too bad you feel that way. No one is making you read it though |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Yea and you were probaly one of fans that boo'ed brunell when campbell went down against the giants.

You should probably just stop |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Im not trying to start some argument against a moderator considering im new to the site but to be honest i cant stand the brunell haters. i understand he had no arm and he played somewhat like a pu**y but none the less he restructured unlike springs who is a "core redskin" and for those who consider it rediculous to resign brunell dont realize how complex saunders offense is and the fact that mark has a decent grasp on it and if jason goes down he can fill in unlike most FA's that alot of fans would like to get signed.

I thought the altimate enemy was Mumra? Or was he the ultimate enemy? |

Ok, well I'm not sure how this became about Brunell. I was merely telling you not to attack 5RINGS for any reason, Cowboys fan or not. Furthermore, I have been a staunch supporter of Brunell from day one (except for a few weeks in 2004 when I thought his arms had fallen off) so again I don't know why you went on some rant about my feelings on Brunell. Which you clearly don't know, nor do I expect you to since you've only been here a few days. |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
To be honest i braught in brunell in to context due to your bottom quote which was probaly pretty immature on my part. I see that you are pretty level headed when it comes to the skins which is very honorable because i honestly hate seeing how harsh some skins fans are on visiting teams (unless there from philly). truce ( i guess thats how you spell it ??)

Truce. Lady Brave had a brilliantly sarcastic post in another thread about Brunell and I stole it for my sig. I'm due for a new sig actually. |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
And by the way if you talk to smoot tell him i am sorry for the monday night game. I had front row seats and tore him a new a hole. Mostly because i was so pissed that he left because he was my favorite player when he left. His personality was key (especially before CP) and much missed when he left.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
he actually switched bench sides after our exchange.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
SmootSmack, man you have a good temperament. Good thing you're a mod because I wouldn't bother with speaking softly, I'd just wield a big stick and whack people all day long.
|
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
he hasn't been good since he left STL. I don't think this is the answer.
the real wish is mulitalo at OG. and a broncos deal (and possibly a seperate springs deal) could end up with us getting okoye + woodley + a 3rd round OG that could be a 6th man or starter in a year or two. |
Re: Our Wish Granted at DE?
Not sure on this at all. He is a little smaller than Daniels and while not undersized would be the second smallest DE on the team and I would be happier with the pass rush comming from blitzing LBs if the DLine could hold the opposition run game in check ...
Plus he sounds a little like the evil professor from futureama ... ..and as for 5Rings I now you are new around here Holmester but you get used to him. |
