Todd Yoder Is In The Fold

I just heard that Yoder and the Skins agreed to a three-year deal last night. Still working on getting some more details on the contract, but the team now has a back-up for Chris Cooley on the roster. I expect the Skins will announce the deal later today or on Wed.

Yoder performed well when signed and pressed into duty late in the season (after Christian Fauria's surgery) and made a heck of a grab in the back of the end zone in the Tampa game if I recall correctly, helping out Jason Campbell in his first NFL start. The coaches liked Yoder and clearly needed to do something else at the tight end position.

This leaves O Line as the primary area of concern in free agency, although like I suggested a while back, the Skins seem comfortable shying away from the guys making big bucks on the line and could addresss Dockery's departure in the draft should they trade down as expected.

Back to thread, yea this guy is solid, good move. Really showed signs of being just what the doc ordered behind Mr. Cooley. TE position scratched off the list.

yoder is a good backup. he has very good hands from what i saw last season, and from what i remember of him when he was with tampa. he played a very good game against us when he was in tampa

He's a good player and I like him, but we're still going to need more TE depth.

We did sign Eric Edwards though, maybe he can fill the role.

I have not heard of this signing or this Eric Edwards?

However, we do have BIG Mike Sellers FB, I believe Big Mike could be the depth at TE with no problem.

I think we're all set at TE position. We have much greater need's at this point with the Yoder signing at other spots.

Good news and good depth.

He made a great catch against Tampa in the back of the endzone from what I remember.

Hopefully we can grab a 3rd stringer in draft or an UDFA.........
