Re: New arcade games

Contra? Are you kidding? I grew up on that game. It was my life. I still remember the cheat code for 99 lives...
ahhhh the good ole days. |

Re: New arcade games

 You mean 30?!
Up, up, down, down, right, left, right, left, B, A! |

Re: New arcade games

 I thought it was:
up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, b, a, select, start? |

"Arguably the best-known example of the Konami Code is in the 1988 NES version of Contra, where using the code increases the player's lives from 3 to 30. Due to the game's intense difficulty, many Contra players became reliant on the code to finish the game, earning it the title "The Contra Code"."
People can't beat Contra in less than three lives?! HA. Losers. |

I downloaded the original Contra on Xbox Live a while back, and some of the achievements are ridiculous. Finish the Game with One Life seems impossible, but the saddest one is Complete the Game in Less than 12 Minutes. My friends and I used to pull all nighters on the NES version, and the bastard is completable in 12 minutes... |

Re: New arcade games

 WOW. THAT is impressive.

Re: New arcade games

Yeah, Mario 3 can be completed in about 7 mins, if my memory serves me right.

Chuck Norris can beat Contra in 6 minutes, without The Code.

Re: New arcade games

Matty, you are KILLING me with this maintenance on the Arcade, today. Can't you see I'm trying to waste time at work here! You are solely responsible for my increase in productivity at work today.
The Man is ecstatic with you. Is that what you want? You're a company man, aren't you Matty. I thought so. |

Re: New arcade games

People can't beat Contra in less than three lives?! HA. Losers.
I played Contra on JNES without "cheats." However what I did do was constantly save so whenever I lost a life I'd go back to the save point. It took me well over a 100 loads to beat the game. How someone could reasonably expect a person to pull that off is beyond me. And all for what? A crappy 8bit picture of a helicopter leaving an island forget it. |
