Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
About time... once that comes out we can stop these stupid threads about first carry, last carry etc (yes, I even started one... but what ya gonna do without the season).
|
Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
Finally some real news to chew on.
They really need to move the draft up to the middle or beginning of April. The draft still seems painfully far away. :( |
Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
Now I'm waiting for prediction threads on when we'll play each team.
Figure this year we'll have Dallas at home the first time around & Tex Stadium the 2nd. For the past 2 years we've had the advantage (IMO) of having them at home later in the season. |
Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
We will probably have an NFL Draft Special on ESPN from 1-3p today. Not official yet.
Good. I've been wondering how you guys will think we'll play during the second quarter of our 5th home game. |
Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
As far as schedule difficulty goes, I think the NFL should factor in how many games each team has to play opponents following a teams bye-week. I think a team comming off a bye-week has a distinct advantage because the team has chance to recooperate from injuries and has more time to prepare. Last year, the Redskins played 4 teams comming off a bye and lost every game. We played both the Giants and Philly after their Bye. Granted, the Redskins lost many games so who knows if they had anything to do with it.
With that said the Giants only played 1 team comming off a Bye. (Beat Altlanta). Philly played NO teams comming of a bye. And, Dallas played 3 teams- Houston, AZ, and the skins(2&1- we beat them). I'll be interested to see how many teams we play following their Bye-week. Last year, we played 4 teams following their bye. And an additional two teams preceding their bye-week. I think this an unfair disadvantage, and Bye-weeks should be factored in for strength of schedule. Am I on to something here? Or does Bye-week scheduling present little to no advantage? |
Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
With every other consideration that goes into drawing up the schedule I think it's just too hard to also factor in playing teams coming off byes. I think it's just one of those necessary evils.

Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
i hope the giants have to play the week after playing miami in england.

Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
I think the Skins will end the regular season in Dallas on Sunday Night Football. Texas Stadium is closing this year and what better way to close Texas Stadium, Skins at Dallas last game of the season I'm calling it !

excellent call, I second it I have skins last game at rfk on tape. We whooped the boys but it was a meaningless game for them. Hopefully it will be a meaningless game for us this year! |
Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
Granted to make an accurate assesment you would have to look at the win/loss record versus the spread, but last year teams going into a bye-week had 12 wins and 20 losses. Teams playing after their bye-week were 19 wins and 13 losses. Again this isn't against the spread, but it looks like you would prefer to play a team who is about to go on a Bye, and don't want to play a team who is comming off a Bye. If there really is a statistical advantage, then I think it's unfair for the schedule makers not to factor Bye-weeks into the equation.

Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
Yeah, me and a couple guys at work are trying to get down there for the Skins' last win at Texas Stadium. I'm sure it'll be a hot ticket but there are always packages and stuff like that if we can't find tickets for it. We should because there are always places to get tickets it's just a matter of how much do you want to pay for them.

The Dolphins will have a tough D, but this will be a good start for our D to go against their struggling O. They're one of those teams that could finish first or last in their division depending on a few things, e.g. Culpeper's health. |

Will Cullpepper be the starter???
It's going to be a win-win situation. The Fins will start Culpepper or a rookie. I respect the Fins' defense, but I'm going to like watching Moss molest Will Allen again. |
The game against the Bears sould be a good one
To be honest, I haven't been terribly impressed with the Bears. Don't get me wrong, they're a good team but not a dominant one. They had the WEAKEST strength of schedule last season as they are in the worst division in the league. |
Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
I definitely think we can do something great this year
