What are your favorites?
What is your favorite song, or band, or rapper just bored trying to start some new conversation.
Mine is: Fav song: Metallingus by Alter Bridge Fav band: Alter Bridge Fav rapper: Jay Z |
Re: What are your favorites?
Right now I've been listening to the new Modest Mouse album like it's my job. I loved their last one too. I guess I could say their my favorite band right now, but I haven't seen them live or anything yet.
My favorite song is probably either Fool In The Rain by Led Zepplin or Nirvana's cover on MTV Unplugged of the old song Where Did You Sleep Last Night? I don't listen to that much rap but I do like The Roots, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli (Just To Get By is one of the best rap songs I know). |
Re: What are your favorites?
Right now I'm really into Ryan Star, glad he didn't win Rockstar Supernova his solo stuff is way better the song Losing your memory is awesome, Favorite Rapper Vanilla Ice Yo word to your mother!
|
Re: What are your favorites?
Right now, I'm really into Sam Cooke.
I like too much hip hop to say who my favorite is, but my favorite albums almost always seem to be the first from many artists. Common - Resurrection, Nas - Illmatic, Blackalicious - Nia, Wu-Tang - 36 Chambers, etc. One of my favorite bands is The Black Keys. I love all of their stuff, and they are incredible live! I highly recommend them to everyone. |

They're one of those bands where the album gets better and better with every listen. I got We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank about a month ago, and haven't taken it out of my car yet. Good News was a fantastic album too. Just remember, someday you will die somehow and somethin's gonna steal your carbon. |
Re: What are your favorites?
Nice Schneed! Good News For People Who Like Bad News (stupid long album titles) hasn't left the disc changer in my car in about 2 years and it looks like We Were Dead... will be joining it.
They're the type of band that I know not everyone would like but I really can't get enough of them. I have their first studio album and I've been meaning to get the others one but I keep forgetting. I can't really think of a good line from a song right now, but if I could it would probably come from the song The View of The Ocean Breathes Salty. |
Re: What are your favorites?
My favorite song is tough to pinpoint, but maybe I would say Born Slippy. One of those songs that brings back memories of a whole period of my life with just those first notes.
My favorite band of all time is Pulp. Loving the new Jarvis Cocker album too. Best rapper is hands down Biggie Smalls. For anyone who is into electronic music, I will mention that my favorite DJ right now is Desyn Massielo, followed by Sasha. |
Re: What are your favorites?

In an embarassing turn, I just (two weeks ago) downloaded that Flock of Seagulls album. Having a 500 GB Music drive can be cumbersome.

OMG!!! that is funny as hell! talk about memories. wow this is a tough one because i love so many different types of music and bands. But for the sake of this thread ill say my favorite song is: Hatred( i think thats the name of it) by Machinehead, off their brand new album. Fav. band: agian a really tuff one, but for the sake of the question ill say, Pantera, Fav. rapper, ok im going old school, cause i guess im getting to the age where things are really old school, im going with 3, Run DMC, LL Cool J (old LL), and Nappy Roots, who i actually think are one of the most underrated rap groups around. |

Ha, that link was actually the signature that I used before I changed it to this one. I played that song on the jukebox at RFD in DC on Tuesday night. Then I played Come Sail Away by Styx. |
Re: What are your favorites?

I also love Satin in a Coffin and Bukowski. You were layin on the carpet like you're satin in a coffin, you said do you believe what you're sayin? Yeah right now, but not that often! Are you dead or are you sleepin? Are you dead or are you sleepin? Are you dead or are you sleepin, God I sure hope you are dead! and... If God controls the land and disease and keeps a watchful eye on me, if he's really so damn mighty, well my problem is I can't see why who would wanna be, who would wanna be such a control freak? Great band. Not enough love for the Mouse in today's world. |
Re: What are your favorites?
My tastes are kind of all over the map. I like just about every genre, but I'm picky within each genre. Schneed's Favorites:

Re: What are your favorites?
Favorite song: Plowed (In a World of Human Wreckage) - Sponge
very close second: More Human Than Human - White Zombie Favorite group: None Favorite whopper: Double whopper w/o pickle |
Re: What are your favorites?
Oh man 724, great post. I am torn about whether to post this or not because I could turn this into a favorite fast food burger thread all by myself.
- Wendy's Triple w/ Cheese, everything on it, double pickle - Hardy's Thickburger - Wendy's Smokey Bacon Cheeseburger - they haven't done this one in a while, but it had smoked cheddar, smoked bacon, and onions sauteed in hickory smoked BBQ sauce. - Texas double Whopper I feel like having a burger for breakfast now. |
Re: What are your favorites?
schneed, after eating that triple, is it a mad dash to the bathroom?
|
Re: What are your favorites?
Hardy's Thickburger is off my list due to an unfortunate and rather lengthy episode involving me and the toilet on Valentine's Day two years ago.
I'm becoming a fan of Red Robin restaurant since it came to Roanoke. Back on topic: Another great song is Ball and Chain by Social Distortion. If I were absolutley forced to, I would pick Bela Fleck and the Flecktones as my favorite band. They are the only ones I've ever bothered seeing in concert. |
Re: What are your favorites?
I just had Five Guys (a DC area chain) for the first time last week and I really think it was the best burger and by far the best fries I've ever had.
It could have been because I hadn't had anything to eat for about 18 hrs before I ate it, but it was damn good. |

Opposite effect, LOL. It's like a brick in my gut. Takes about 5 days to work that bad boy out! |

I ordered them and basically they had two deep frying baskets and just dumped them in a brown paper bag. |

No, saw them twice, once in Salem and then Roanoke a few years ago. Victor Wooten came to the Jefferson Center last year for a solo performance. That was pretty cool. |
Re: What are your favorites?
I'll let you know if I hear about them coming to W&L again. For some reason, it's almost an annual event for them to come here.
|
Re: What are your favorites?
I'm not even sure I could pin down just one favorite song or band.
Some of my favorite bands/artists would include: Tool, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Beastie Boys, The Clash, Bob Marley, Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Beck, Coldplay, 311, Foo Fighters, Cake, Deftones, Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Rage against the machine, Red hot chili peppers, Sublime, Sevendust, Weezer, and on and on. |

Luckily my friend warned me about the fries before hand, so I was able to save a buck by getting the "small" fries. On Topic: Robert Randolph and The Family Band is a great band to see live. I've seen them open for DMB a couple of times and they were fantastic. |

Creed! LOL I'm quite a bit older than Fall Out Boy's target audience, but their stuff isn't bad. |

Re: What are your favorites?
I don't mean to rag on you Earthquake, because you started a great thread here, I just think Creed is lame, that's all.
But to each his own, you dig what you dig. You're alright in my book. |
