One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
Last night late local News had a crew in Surry Virginia covering a story of Vick's home being raided by local police. They did not know what was going on only that animal control was there and that they could hear allot of dogs barking in the back yard. They did not know if the dogs where the issue but they did focus on the fact that it seemed to be allot of dogs. They also said that the home itself was raided and animal control could have been there as a percaution. The neighbors said Vick only stayed in the home a few times a year and that his cousin was the main occupant. The raid had been going on for sometime but I could not find any other info on this. Has anyone heard this?

His nephew is part of a drug investigation apparently. It's Vick's house, but he doesn't live there. His nephew does

I just tried a local news site and they had the story and you are correct. It was a drug invetigation involving his family members and here is a link. I think it has more to do with some sort of dog fighting ring.......I'm sure he won't know a thing about it....lol

Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
PFT:
EVIDENCE OF "ILLEGAL ACTIVITY" FOUND ON VICK PROPERTY As reported last night by FOX 43 and WAVY-TV, property in Virginia owned by Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has been searched by police. Per the reports, several animal control trucks were on the scene, and the sound of barking dogs could be heard. Most of the "real" media is chasing this latest story with the same zeal that was displayed after Vick was sued for giving a former girlfriend herpes and after a water bottle with a hidden compartment that smelled not of water was found in his possession in a Miami airport. But there are indications that this one could be (key words: "could be") a doozy. Per WAVY-TV, police discovered "animal neglect" on the property, in the form of dogs that appeared to be "hungry and forgotten." A non-Photo-Shopped image found on the Intergoogle by Taco Bill. In a video report on FOX 43, Surry County (Va.) administrator Tyrone Franklin says that "it does give the appearance of some activity, illegal activity." Though Franklin doesn't specify the illegal activity, our own Taco Bill has found a report regarding the story on Pet-Abuse.com containing the following paragraph that is nothing short of a bombshell: "Early reports indicate that Vick was allegedly running a dog-fighting and cockfighting operation from the back of the home. The Virginia Animal Fighting Taskforce was on the scene. Authorities report that Vick had been under investigation for several years for illegal animal fighting." Holy Milk Bones, Batman. (It's not presently known whether any roosters named "Little Jerry Seinfeld" were found on the property.) Though it is being emphasized in media reports that Vick is rarely at the property, he owns the place -- and he surely has an inkling of what is going on there. Especially since the FOX 43 report shows images of three buildings on the property that apparently housed the dogs. Those buildings didn't just build themselves; there's a chance that they were designed to be kennels, and that Vick approved the plans and wrote the check to get them built. |
Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
Fighting and neglecting animals is pretty despicable. Vick doesn't exactly come across as a model citizen (Ron Mexico), and I wouldn't be surprised if he at least had knowledge of this...

Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
it amazes me how people think because someone is a famous athlete, everyone in the family must be a model citizen

No, but when you have family members living in YOUR HOUSE, I'm sure you know something of what is going on. Vick might have absolutely no knowledge, but I'd doubt it. |
Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
In the live report I saw last night the neighbors did say that Vick did stay in the home from time to time. If he knew about what was going on and how these animals where treated I would think is unknown at this time.

Of course they will say he didn't know...but how can you not? Sorry, I've never thought he was a good person...not that this is an idicator, but look at his brother. |
Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
If he used dogs for fighting, he should be locked up for a long time. It's sick and cruel.
Why the Falcons let Schaub go is beyond me...they're obviously going to need a replacement for Vick sooner than later. Maybe they'll trade up and get Brady Quinn. If they weren't considering it before, they should now. Mike Vick is a disgusting person. |

Doesn't really matter if he was present or not, he's responsible for what happens on HIS property. |

Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
You've been in a cave?
Spreading herpes, his drugs, giving fans that pay his salary the finger, THIS, etc. |

Why am I having visions of the neglected swimming pool in "Next Friday"?

But at the same time it is his property, therefore he is responsible for making sure no illegal activity goes on their. If he cant do it personally, he has to tell his cousin that atleast. Also seeing that he has been in trouble more, making sure he doesnt look even worst should be a priority for him. |

I'm no saint but drugs, herpes and animal abuse are blemishes I can say are definitely not on my record. And honestly, with the exception of some casual drug use on this board, I would be very surprised to hear of anyone on this board having any of these actions in his or her past. I think disgusting is pretty appropriate for this clown. |

Nothing that guy does surprises me. He is my least favorite football player. Can we please beat his ass down on the way to a title as soon as possible.

Wow. Stay out of my town.[/quote]First off until we know the facts you cannot say Vick ran an illegal dog fighting ring. So far the invetgators have said Vick was not a part of the invetgation. You say smuggled drugs, if you are talking about the bottle the test they ran turn up negative. The spead of herpes I'm not sure about that story so I will not comment but he is a target for women to go after. |

Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
Seriously, Is this really news? I mean don't get me wrong I am against cruelty to animals and all but do we really have to blow this out of proportion. Vick isn't a model citizen but he can't be crucified for something like dog-fighting in one of his many houses (something that can easily be concealed and isn't exactly a hot button issue). If it was drugs or something of that severity it would be one thing but from a legal standpoint i am pretty sure nothing is going to touch him. From a moral standpoint with regards to Vick, i think this is a non-factor. Sure u can criticize him for the giving the finger or the mysterious bottle, but why should he blamed for the character flaws of his family members. They always say u can pick ur friends but u can't pick ur family. I think there are many more important issues with regards to football. How about the fact that one of the guys we are looking to draft admittedly smoked weed? Should we not draft him now b/c he has "character issues"? I think thats complete BS.

Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
This isn't a funny article in any way, but I love how PETA sent a letter to Arthur Blank asking for Vick to be kicked off the team if he is harming those dogs or using them for dog fighting.
|
Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
Vick is overrated anyway and will never lead a team to the Superbowl. He is versatile and rather mobile, but a terrible passer. A running QB will never lead a team to the big dance or I should say win the big dance. He is just another extremely gifted athlete with no brain.

Having a problem with reading? They went there for DRUGS! A NON-ISSUE, not sure what planet your from.....? However, in most civilized rural/non-rural areas that I know of , this a HUGE ISSUE! You can pick which drug dealing family member thug lives at your house and be aware of whats going on (DOG-FIGHTING, COCK-FIGHTING, DOG RAPE STALLS,DRUG DEALING, etc.), as he WAS due to being seen at this home of his frequently. Oh......but I'm sure he had NO idea...right? |

You know Mike Vick about as well as George Bush. Let me know how many people your foundation asists every year. Since there are no facts or charges out there, everyone should probably worry about our draft instead of displaying their jealousy of a professional athlete. |

I do not know about that. But I believe he was caught smuggling drugs into the country in a hide away container located on one of his personal belongings. |
Re: One Of Michael Vicks Home Raided By Police
Why do people hate Vick so much? I always wanted him to succeed, and think it's sad that he hasn't become the player we all hoped he would be. I still remember watching him during the 02 season with my jaw on the floor.

I don't hate Vick. I'm a long time VT fan (14 years). I too want to see him successfull, but I will not ignor his mistakes. |
