guilty musical pleasures
We all have our guilty musical pleasures. So what's that one song or even an entire CD that you roll up the windows and crank up when nobody is around?? :D
|
Frank Sinatra w/ Count Basie. I know all the words to every song.
I think it's pretty pimp though when you have a chick w/ you. |
Jane's Addiction's "Nothing Shocking"
The sounds those guys had on that CD are so creative and blistering I just love it. There was a band called "Ned's Atomic Dust Bin" that had 2 Bass players and 1 played the leads. That SHREADS! peace |
What about Janes Addictions steel drums ( correct me if I'm wrong ) ? That live version of Jane says is by far the best.
|
What's embarrassing about Jane's or Ned's??
I think you guys are missing my point, LOL. |
I did miss the point bro. Sorry.
Indigo Girls then lol |

I'm a closet lesbo...
And you want to lick my BUSH! lol!!!!! |
nothing i'd be afraid to admit to... mainly listen to scandanavian death metal, but some MSI, tori amos, and punk stuff (bad religion, AFI, etc) among other things... (I like some techno/rap, but don't really listen to that much of it)

Disney Greatest Hits Volumes I-IV:
All the classics from Snow White's "Heigh-Ho" to Little Mermaid's "Under the Sea" That's right. Disney Biatch!!! That's how I roll.... Redskins_P ain't no shame in listening to Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. |
I agree.. Nothing's Shocking was (to me) the best hard rock album, since, oh, I don't know, Physical Graffiti. Dave Navarro (guitar) has great phrasing. Helped bring back (pains me to type that) the classic Les Paul/Marshall stack sound!
Up the Beach, Ted Just Admit It... all great tunes. Without a doubt, pick up their first album if you don't have it already... self titled live album from XXX Records. It just smokes! I have ripped most of my CDs to MP3s on my CPU and have a huge jukebox setup. I have a "go to sleep playlist" with Elton John, Van Morrison, Beatles, Billy Joel... Those (less the Beatles) are probably my "weaknesses", though I really don't give a rat's behind what anyone thinks of my music! :D |
Much as I was born and raised a Redskins fan, the same can be said to excuse my fondness for Neil Diamond. My parents loved Neil, and I was raised humming the bars of "Cherry, Cherry" and "Cracklin' Rosie". I only listen to his early stuff from the late 60s and early 70s, not the truly wretched "Headed for the Future" and "Comin' to America" crap he put out in the '80s. The first concert I ever saw was a Neil Diamond concert at the Capital Centre.

Yeah Neil Diamond's ok, but Tom Jones would kick his ass!!

 |
Kenny Rodgers is where it is at!!! Atleast I think so, but it is usually my wift that ends up winding up the windows!!!

Oh yeah, I was raised on "The Gambler" as well... ..."You got to know when to hold 'em Know when to fold 'em Know when to walk away Know when to run You never count your money While you're sittin' at the table There'll be time enough for countin' When the dealin's done!" |
I'm told that I should be VERY ashamed of the Techno I listen to. I'm Eurotrash, I don't care.

I listen to Tatu from time to time, which is a bit embarrassing. Europe - The Final Countdown, I blair that all the time! I love to play bad 80's music loud. Falco is great. hrm.... ah yes - Rocky theme songs.
Redskins_P - We like to toss Hangin' Tough on a CD, pull up to a stoplight next to a car with more teenagers, pump it up, then nod our heads at them, before we pull off. The reactions are always interesting! |
that reminds me of how we used to take peoples binders in HS while they were looking away and cover it with bands like marky mark and the funky bunch that some of the girls used to like in 6th grade...
|
This is a little embarassing, but while lullaby-ing last night, I segued into Please, Please, Please by The Smiths. Kid went out like a light.
|
I didn't want to like any of his songs cuz I have a deep hatred towards boybands, but I actually thought justin timberlake and timbaland released a few good songs on timberlakes first solo cd. plus I still got my old kriss cross cd and the old Hammer cd when he tried out the thug image.
and smootsmack, don't know if u were kidding or not but I'm right there with yah. anytime an old disney song comes on in the movie or a commercial, I'm usually singing it under my breath if anyones around, lol. |
no I wasn't kidding, Disney baby!
|
no I wasn't kidding, Disney baby!
Thank god I'm not the only adult male out there who still likes listening to old disney songs, lol. |
I have the Bugsy Malone soundtrack. I used to love it as a kid. I listen to that with the windows up ever once and a while! It's one of my guilty plesures!! :cheeky-sm

I'm a true city slicker but over the past couple of months I've become totally hooked on country music. Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Julie Roberts, Sara Evans, etc.
I got hooked because CMT has this "revolutionary" concept of actually playing music videos on a music video network, something MTV and VH1 have drifted away from. Can any of you country music fans out there suggest some new CDs that are out on the market now? Probably won't buy any, but I might download some songs and I'm curious to know about some of the artists out there. |
MTV still plays videos... lots and lots of rap videos... :(

if your cable network carries it, MTV2 is ok some of the time and FUSE is an awesome channel if u like punk, rock, and metal. |
i got cox, love metal ;) but i don't think I get it up here in fairfax county... i have watched it when i was down in richmond though... I really liked much music (canadian mtv, much more rock and lots and lots of videos and concerts) and much music 2, but cox dropped them :( we also used to get the box (out of miami i think) where you just pay 2$ to program whatever video you want for the entire county, and there was a good selection and decent videos there...
|
Country? Say it ain't so guys! Ugh
|
I've had a lot more "guilty musical pleasures" since Matty found the mp3 site! ;)
|
I can't listen to Country because I don't have a Belt Buckle bigger than my head.
lol |
the only good thing i can say about country is that the chicks look a lot better than in most of the crap videos MTV plays...
|
The only country music song I've ever listened to was the Gambler. Everytime I hear that damn song, I can't help but to sing it.
