why? (do we want to sign everyone's garbage)

why is it alot of people here want to take other peoples trash( i.e. K. Johnson, etc.) and alot of others, and bring them to Washington? come on, Dhani Jones? we have alot of very knowledgeable people around here. lets think before we post. and while I'm at it, whats the deal with everyone thinking its so easy to have players switch positions? most of these players specialize, at a very young age. yes, sometimes an exceptional player comes along that can switch with no problem. but its usually the exception rather then the rule. i guess I'm done ranting, at least for now

Why start a whole new thread to discuss two other threads?

Jones and Keyshawn are garbage. I would rather have the LB's we drafted than Jones.

I could name 20 #2s that I would rather have than Key not including Randle-El and Lloyd.

Yeah, I tend to disagree with a lot of people here regarding players we should chase, but I don't think discussing such potential acquisitions should be off limits. I think it's best to either post specific reasons why the player would be a bad fit or just ignore the thread.

The funny part is when someone starts one thread "So and so just got cut, sign him now!!!!" and then in another thread that same person has a post that says "Our front office sucks, why do we have to go after everyone? Why can't we just develop our own guys?"

But, it is what it is.

Re: why?

Why does everyone have to hate? As long as there aren't duplicate threads, I don't see a problem discussing bringing in KJ. I'll simply tell you why you're off, and you tell me why I'm off.

That's what we do here.

No need to be hating.

Beemnseven 05-02-2007 07:54 AM

Re: why?

Good point Rob. This is a discussion site. That's what we do here -- discuss.

If you find a thread that doesn't interest you, simply ignore it and move on.

What's the problem?

Re: why?

Because IMO, what you are calling other's trash....might just be better than what we have. Not that you go after all, but there will be an exception!

Dmek don't complain about the board and then go and start a thread titled "why." Be part of the solution, follow the forum rules. When creating a thread make sure the title is descriptive and makes sense.

What happened to Titface and those fans that came here to talk shit? We need that kinda stuff to unify the board once again. I suggest the Mods sign up and create fake users to instill support. That isnt commie at all, I promise.

Yeah, there were some assholes last year. If memory serves me correctly, they usually show up when pre-season games get into full swing.

Yeah, hypocrisy at it's finest.

Regarding the thread title here, c'mon peeps let's try to be a bit more descriptive. I logged on late last night to see 2 new threads titled, "why?" and "Im not alone, am I...?".

That's not cutting it. Think of your thread titles as the bait to catch the fish, if I were a fish I'm certainly not biting on a one word title.

Wait until the fall when the actual games start and observe the see-saw reactions from week to week depending on whether we win or lose.

It is easier however just to ignore the loose change because it's going to keep coming.

Re: why? (do we want to sign everyone's garbage)

I dont mind bringing in Keyshawn for one year because we do not have a prooven fourth reciever. I would not offer him more than the leauge minimum but why not try to sign a solid possesion reciever cheaply. We do not need Dhani Jones but the chiefs let go of DE Hicks maybe we could pick him up because we have no depth at the position. Yes I know he is just as old and probobly at the same talent level as Wynn and Daniels but we could use the extra body. I wouldnt mind signing both Keyshawn and Hicks to cheap one year deals and replace them next year.

Re: why? (do we want to sign everyone's garbage)

I hope we have a shot at DE Brown / Bears or Rucker / Panthers , should either get cut or we can work a trade for one . Brown could start for a few years ,,, Rucker could give us a nice pass rusher for a year ,,, or 2 .

I love reading the post durn the season. One week the guys a stud, great team guy, great player and the next week the same person will be saying, he's a looser, sucks, cut his a$$, etc... Then the next week its back to studd and all that stuff.

Yeah, it is typical. I dont know I kinda hate offseason where everyone decides to be superbitch and post how they hate the Skins in every thread. It increases predraft and dies down only to rear its ugly head around training camp and fully expose in preseason.

All I know is we should spend more time scouting those Canadian colleges. They got some players up there.

Offseason boredom. Other that that, I can't explain the lunacy.

Yes, every run-first offense needs a solid 4th receiver. :D

I cannot recall a time since I've been a member of this forum, that a player whose name is recognized by most was released from a team, someone didn't ask the question, or make the suggestion we consider signing him. Some say we don't have anything else to talk about, well, it's not mandatory that we just have to have a topic to discuss, espically when the same topic is being discussed in other threads in different words, over and over again.

On the topic of players switching positions, or having the versatility to play multiple positions is nothing new to the NFL. We had a discussion of this topic when T. Wade was being considered for the move to LG from RT. In the past we were known for having players (espically on the o-line) capable of being able to switch positions. Raleigh McKenzie, played every position on the o-line. Russ Grimm played both G/C in several games for us. Jeff Bostic was a G. before moving to C, so in essence, the practice is not uncommon, it has been a practice around the league since I first began watching the NFL which was many years ago.

Very true, although sliding around on the O-line has got to be the easiest position switch in football. It's not like moving from safety to LB, QB to WR, or something like that.
