Sam Adams ...
Bengals | Adams released
Mon, 14 May 2007 11:47:16 -0700 The <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/12/nfl">Cincinnati Bengals have announced they have released DT Sam Adams. Apologies if this has been dicussed elsewhere. Whilst not coming off a great year this is the kind of vet big body we could do with imho. |
Re: Sam Adams ...
Wasn't he w/ the Bills when Gregg Williams was there? I wonder how much he has left in the tank.
|
Re: Sam Adams ...
I don't know how much he's got left in the tank, but Sam Adams goes down smooth with some chicken wings I'll tell you that much
Seriously though, I'd probably pass on him at this point |
Re: Sam Adams ...
No Thanks
|
Re: Sam Adams ...
...is fat and old.
...comes in many different varieties, and makes some of the best beer ever (Oktoberfest). |
Re: Sam Adams ...
Pretty tasty beer though
|
Re: Sam Adams ...
Has Paul Revere on its label, not Sam Adams, the brewer-patriot.
Vet min camp? What have we got to lose with that? Will he go for that? |
Re: Sam Adams ...
I would take him for the vet min in a second. He sure couldn't hurt.
|
Re: Sam Adams ...
may have been great for us 4 years ago, I don't know about now. Will cost too much money.
|
Re: Sam Adams ...
No thanks. Sam started all 16 games last year, and ended up with 14 tackles 2 sacks. We can get better production than that from Griffin, Golston, Montgomery, and Salave'a. Normally I wouldn't mind bringing someone like this in, but after looking at those stats I realized why the Bengals let him go.

how did i know this thread would start
|
Re: Sam Adams ...
I prefer the Spring Ale and the good old original Boston Lager.
Seriously though, this guy has been in the league for 14 years and has go to be just about done. I say no way. |

That's the same thing people said about Alan Branch. Branch was the the sole reason guys like Leon Hall (1st rd), David Harris (2nd rd), Lamar Woodley (2nd rd) were so highly regarded (and we're not even talking about freshmen and sophomores). Having Adams will increase everyone eles's productivity. For the right price, in a rotation? Yes. If a deal is done, you know we all will be smiling. |

I don't think you'll have to worry EX, there won't be any deal getting done. |

But you can't compare the two now. A 33 year-old and a 23 year-old are a big difference at DT |

yes 10 years |
Re: Sam Adams ...
I hope we get Sam Adams!
Sometimes my wife buys Bud Light or Corona, which is fine but I really like Sam Adams and/or Guinness. |

Re: Sam Adams ...
If he comes cheap and is heavily rotated, I'm fine with it.
|
Re: Sam Adams ...
Id take him if he could bulk up some.

Last time I checked Branch is still a rookie that hasn't even stepped on the field yet, so you can't make a comparison. Second Sam Adams didn't seem to do much to help the Bengals defensive productivity very much, considering they were horrible against the run, so how exactly is he going to increase our defensive productivity? I am having trouble understanding your logic. |
Re: Sam Adams ...
I went to the Green Turtle one time and this Russian waitress tried to tell me that Sam Adams was an import. This was two years ago and I'm still furious about it. If she hadn't have been drop dead gorgeous I really would have given her a piece of my mind.

Great stuff. I'll watch Chapelle Show any time it comes on. The racial draft was possibly my all-time favorite skit. |

Yeah, but the whole "WHAT? YYEEEAHH!" thing got old really fast. Everyone and their mother was walking around saying it, and after a few months I was just like, alright, enough already. But the first couple of times I saw those skits I did laugh my ass off. |

The funnier ones was when he actually had Little Jon doing them with him. I liked the Oprah skits as well. |
