Cartwright or Blaylock

I know I will get some hashes for posting a topic 3rd String, but I started thinking about this. RC stated last year that he's a team player and won't be disgruntled by getting bumped. However if Blaylock happens to move into the 3rd RB position will Rock stay around? Do you think he would stay on the team to play special teams? I though he did a pretty good job KR last year, but that we mean he has slide pretty much as far down the ladder as you can.

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

Honestly, I'd like to keep both. I'd keep Cartwright running back kicks and Blaylock third on the depth chart at RB.

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

I'll agree with that, keep them both if doable.

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

cartwright is a good return man/ special teams player. i think thet alone keeps him on the team. besides, how many carries does the 3rd back get? he probably makes less then blaylock, too

play both. put them both back there on kickoff returns

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

I think the Skins HAVE to keep them both. With Portis coming down with the tendonitis in his knee and Betts always seems to miss time, I think this team needs to be as deep as possible at running back this year. I think the team can count on Portis and Betts, but you also have to be prepared for injuries. Rock did well returning kicks last season and they carried 4 for most of the time last season. 4 RB's is probably the way to go in this case

MTK 06-15-2007 11:38 AM

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

We can keep them both the only problem is one of them would likely have to be inactive on gameday.

I am on record as saying that I don't think Portis will make it through the season.... which bumps Ladell up to number 1. We need both of them to back up Ladell.

I have to agree. Both Portis and Springs are likely candidates for early exits.

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

Keep 'em both and whoever is the better returner is actvie on game days.

Why is everyone so sure Clinton can't hold up when last season was the first time he missed significant time? Ladell played 16 games for only the 2nd time in his career last year. He's been injury prone since he got to the NFL.

I'm concerned about Portis's apparently ongoing medical issues as well, but predicting a season ending injury is a little much.

That makes you dumb. The first season he misses significant time and everyone wants to put in Ladell Betts who had his first season where he didnt miss time due to injury. No way in hell ports goes down.

You are crazy if you think Portis will have an early exit.

cartright has found his place as our KR so he will stay. Blaylock is like a player -coach. Extension of Saunders on the field. Keep em both

lol... if I am dumb, then you are simply ignorant. I have said in earlier posts that he has been run alot more than most backs his age. All of that abuse is starting to take a toll on his body. He already has tendonitis and that is an indication of future nagging issues.

Ok he has tendonitis. If you paid attentio you would know that Cartwright has this same injury. ONce again Betts has had more injuries then Portis. Portis will be fine. He's only 25. He will be fine.

Rock is not an every down back. My point is that CP has had ALOT of abuse and if you paid attentio you would realize you are missing something... mmmm.....

what is attentio???????????? And I noticed that he has taken some abuse. But that is no reason to say that Betts has a better chance of finishing the season.

That is how you spelled the word attention... you missed the point of my last post, just like you missed the point completely.

Both. Cartwright should be higher on the depth chart though.

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

Blalock is a better rb, but I don't know about his ability on teams, including returning. Rock is a leader on spec. teams but I worry about him getting the ball too much from scrimmage.

TOTALLY, not only does the ROCK have the heart of a lion, he has become a bonafide return man. he has to stay. The Rock is "a Redskin"

Re: Cartwright or Blaylock

I've had both knee tendonitis and achilles tendonitis. Although my sport is not the same (I do ultra-distance triathlons) I think my experience with these injuries carries over to football as well:
Knee tendonitis needs just a bit of rest and it will be fine.
Achilles tendonitis frequently (as in my case) becomes chronic and derails a career.

I'm not worried at all about Portis's knee tendonitis.

I think we keep all four.

Boy, I don't know which college you picked... but man, you need to start the summer sessions to get a leg up.

Godfather II... Fredo is talking to Michael (The Godfather) about how he is the older brother and should be the one taking care of Michael. I know your young, but they do have video tapes and I believe a new fangled invention called a DV_something or other that you can watch movies on.

How you could hate them if you haven't seen any of them. Granted the 3rd wasn't so great, but the first two were pretty awesome.

But if you didn't like them you're certainly entitled to your opinion. But how could you have an opinion on them without having seen them?

You need to be clear in what you say. First you said you haven't seen any of them then, when confronted, you say you saw the first two. It's hard to maintain credibility when you do that.

It is like Peter Griffin said I started watching the first one got about 10 to 15 minutes into it and I thought it sucked.

Well, if you didn't like those, you won't like any of them...

I think they go in this order of best to worst:

2
1
6
3
4
5

But all are worth seeing... they are some of the few movies I can see over and over again.
