F...Political Discussion on a Football Board!

That's all I wanted to say.

Re: F...Political Discussion on a Football Board!

Actually, I rather enjoy those discussions. Especially when there's no real football to talk yet.

I've never understood people who bitch about what's being discussed in a particular thread. That's why you won't find me in "Other Sports" section of this website. No other sports interest me. If you don't like it, don't read it.

Re: F...Political Discussion on a Football Board!

I don't read them, I just see them popping up all over the place in a predominant football oriented forum. I guess this thread here is about as useless as the political ones...thanks for showing me the light Beem!

Yes, I have been drinking.

Everyone should heed those words. So many people feel like they have to respond to everything. If it doesn't interest you, don't say anything.

At our core we are a Redskins board. Once the season rolls around again I'm sure that'll take up the bulk of the threads. I don't have a problem with discussing other topics. What I have issue with are those people who come on here primarily to discuss "other topics" by essentially spamming the site with political thread after political thread after political thread. You know who you are.

What he said :Smoker:

I find these discussions informative and help me understand myself and others better.

It's all good, that's why we have an off-topic forum.

Some people obviously can't handle themselves very well in political based threads, but then again some can't handle themselves in any sort of discussion here it seems.

Just the same old liberal Warpath I guess. :)

During the regular season I hardly visit the parking lot. But, during the offseason, I need my warpath fix and it just so happens that most off-season activity on this site occurs in the parking lot. Also, it's good to hear so many different views expressed. I think the only way to keep the juices flowing in the brain is to hear from people who think differently than yourself.

Re: F...Political Discussion on a Football Board!

I would rather discuss politics than vidya games or "The Transformers Movie".

As for the "Liberal Warpath" I think that's a stretch. Matty is obviously a died in the wool leftist who often feigns moderation. Pretty sneaky. As King Mod you would like more of a Geoge Washington figure, beyond party politics, but SS is an avowed Republican (albeit in the Rockefeller sense of the term -at best) and he serves kind of the Hamilton role. The real power behind the throne. So it all balances out. I think its all balanced.

I know I'm leving a lot of people out including myself, but I mostly just eff around. The Redskins are the only really important issue to me.

i don't really mind them but they are a little annoying cause they always end up the same way with the same people saying the same things over and over.

If anything, I think most warpathers are pretty conservative. I hope no one can peg me as either a conservative or a liberal.

Re: F...Political Discussion on a Football Board!

Personally I love the off-topic forums. We all have one thing in common, we're all huge skins fans (besides those few loyal members who are 'boys and giants fans. I respect all of those posters immensely). The off-topic threads allow us to see what a large cross-section of American people feel. Lately, I really feel like the political discussions have gone over great and relatively free of drama.

Actually my purpose for this thread was to lighten things up a bit as it seemed to have become very tense around here lately. Only two more weeks and we will have us some football to talk about!!!

Hail!

Can I be the apathetic masses. If not, that's okay, I don't really care anyway.

I volunteer TMC to be the quirky comic relief.

I would do it, but I am not enough of a womanizer.

This reminds me, "Burr" by Gore Vidal is a great, great book. I find his conspiracy theories laughable and he's kind of creepy, but his series of historical novels are fantastic.

Clarification: I LOVE woman, but not in the same quantity as our second V.P. Saying I wasn't a womanizer and the talking about Gore Vidal could have sent the wrong message.

So basically I'd be Benjamin Franklin stumbling in drunk, strapped and with a beyotch in each arm?

Basically. But is that such a horrible way to live? I mean hell, isn't that the American dream right there?

But whoever ends up being Thomas Jefferson gets to have me as their Sally Hemmings.

Ah, I missed this the first time round. Hell, I've been having some of the best political discussions here, rather than at any political site. And it is a fair balance of liberals to conservatives, I think.

I am James Madison, only taller. My wife (Dolly) likes McCain, but that is her only flaw.

the Political threads have been off the chain of late but it is an election year so be it. the Parking Lot is one of the main reasons I come here outside of Redskin's talk.

Generally a good group of guys and ladies on her that can talk on any subject.
