NFL.com - NFL News
Yeah, I've gotta disagree that the entire NFC East will go 7-9 and the Skins will win the division. I don't believe the Skins will be worse than .500, I feel the same about the Eagles. We'll have to see, but something tells me that someone's gonna be have at least 9 wins. |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
he really thinks that everyone in the NFCE is going to be 7-9, and yet 3 of the teams from the AFCN will have more than 10 wins? That sounds like a joke to me.

Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction

Yeah, that's stupid. The Giants will NOT win that many games. The Eagles could be 7-9 if McNabb goes down AGAIN. We will win more than 7 we're not decimated by injuries like last year. That's pretty accurate for Dallas though. The AFC North predictions won't happen. Didn't he realize they all play each other twice? |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
Did he throw darts to make these predictions?
Everyone in the NFC East at 7-9?? That's a very odd prediction to make. |

Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
After seeing ESPN's cognescenti giving them a pre-season power ranking of 28(with all-time Redskin hater Pasquerelli being part of the crew making the rankings, of course) and Street and Smith's predicting them to finish in last, I'm just happy to see someone predicting a first place finish, even if it is at 7-9.

Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
I can't believe I missed this thread before starting my own. F... 724Skinsfan!
The win/loss numbers are silly, of course, but I do like the way he is demonstrating that the NFC East is still one of the toughest top to bottom divisions in the NFL. |

That has got to be the dumbest thing that I have ever read. All four teams 7-9. And the Giants will not win 7 games. This guy was drunk when he made this. |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
Why is everyone predicting the Giants to be so terrible this year? I understand that they didn't finish strong last year, but I feel as if everyone is counting them out prematurely. I would have to agree that the entire division is wide open. Every team has potential to be dominant. I would count out Dallas due to a coaching change before I count out NY. I am not about to bet against Dallas right now though.

The reason why I do not think that the Giants will do well this year is because I don't believe that Eli has what it takes to put the team on his back. With the lose of Tiki in the backfield that makes Brandon Jacobs the starting RB. I do not know right now, but I don't think that Jacobs is as good as Tiki. This year Eli will have to be the man on the offensive side of the ball, and I am not sold on that he can do that just yet... |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
7-9 for all is such a wierd prediction. I could understand a couple at 8-8 and a couple at 7-9 or something, but all under .500, that would make history. It won't happen.
It is good to see that others don't see our division as that tough. I do think we can beat everyone in our division this year. The eagles are worse, the giants are worse, and the cowboys are worse...the skins got better though...so this could easily mean we will win the division. |

I agree that the Tiki was a great loss, but as long as the RB tandem can make up for most of that lost production, I believe that Eli will be fine. I also realize that their Defense isn't bad either. I am actually curious to see what "What's his name?" looks like at LB. |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
Giants are going to be scraping the bottom of the NFC-East this year. They will have no offense and a decent defense.

Who are you referring to? If it's Arrington, I thought they released him? |

I think that he is talking about Mathias Kiwanuka, he was a DE last year and I heard that they are either going to or were thinking of moving him to LB... |

I agree that if the tandem of Jacobs and Droughns can make up 1 Tiki then maybe they will be better. As of now I am not sold on it at all... |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
Just goes to show you how difficult it is to predict the NFC East.

Thank you I was talking about Mathias Kiwanuka. Also I can see your point of view. Its true that only time can tell and that was my point. Everybody is so quick to point out that NY will suck, but I say that it depends on The production that they get from their two backs and how well Kiwanuka fills the void at OLB. |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
I agree with the predicted record but I dont think that will get them the playoffs.
|
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
I still think that the NFC East can put up better numbers than that. I like where they have us, except for not advancing a little farther in the post-season. There IS a lot of variables all all 4 teams, so I will get a little crazy this year. All 4 QB's should have a question mark beside thier name, and with so many changes on all the D's, it's going to be a fun year.

They have to backs that are big and powerful but not what you would call quick. They are inside the 20 backs for the most part. Another thing is Brandon Jacobs looks like a early Tiki Barber in the way that he has a huge problem holding onto the ball while running people over. |

Last year just sucked... too many injuries... |

The Giants have a bad OLine, and without a smart back like Tiki you will see their run game get stuffed. Jacobs is big and strong, but so is everyone else in the L. Droughns is an average back who has to play behind a bad OLine. I don't think the Giants have a defense that will impose their will on anybody. I see 6-10 for the Gmen, 8-8 Eagles, playoffs for the Skins, and 11-5 for Dallas ... . |

I think I agree with 5RINGS.

Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
The thing about Dallas bringing Wade Phillips in is that he ran the 3-4 in San Diego so the already strong defense in my opinion is only going to get stronger. Unless their season comes down to a last second field goal I think they have the playoffs on lock down.

We know from experience that new coaches need time.... at least a year. |

Everyone in the NFC East at 7-9?? That's a very odd prediction to make.
I think he did. He's either saying that it's such an even matched division that it's anybodys to win, they'll beat up on eachother so much during the season that neither team will have a winning record, or he thinks that it is the worst division in the NFC. Basically he doesn't have a clue. |
Re: NFL.com Playoff Prediction
No one has a clue before the season starts. Who thought the Ravens were going to do what they did last year?

Well thats all they need is backs that can run inside the 20's. They have PLAX and Shockey for the rest of the field. |
