Taylor sprains knee in passing camp

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A21566-2004Jul28.html

I hate to be the one breaking the bad news, but I just saw this on the Post. Doesn't look serious though. Keep your fingers crossed.

Taylor hurts knee

Don't worry, doesn't seem too serious.

Happens all the time bro.....

skins009 07-28-2004 02:34 PM

Its not serious. But damn i was nervous there for a few seconds.

BleedBurgundy 07-28-2004 02:40 PM

My stomach felt sick when I read that.

illdefined 07-28-2004 02:42 PM

first day of PASSING camp? man..

redrock-skins 07-28-2004 02:55 PM

Even if its not serious, just hearing it is enough to bring back memories of draft picks gone bad. Not saying this is, but for just a second I couldn't help but think about it.

Redskins_P 07-28-2004 02:56 PM

I just read on redskins.com that Smoot said it didn't look serious at all. It just looks he twisted it a little.

cpayne5 07-28-2004 03:10 PM

Now who's wishing he would have held out longer? :silly:

I don't think that this is anything serious, though.

SKINSnCANES 07-28-2004 03:17 PM

it doesnt seem to serious the way they talk about it, but if he sprained his knee hes going to miss camp I imagine. Whenever I sprained something it sucked for atleast a week.

SKINSnCANES 07-28-2004 03:18 PM

if it really is sprained wont he miss camp though?

Hogskin 07-28-2004 03:38 PM
if it really is sprained wont he miss camp though?
Sprains come in many degrees. I guess we will find out tonight or tomorrow. But if what Gibbs and Smoot say is true, he will probably be able to wrap it and go Friday.

Sadistic Jeff 07-28-2004 03:41 PM

Jesus, this guy can't catch a break.

Skins fan 44 07-28-2004 04:05 PM

Oh know we drafted an injury prone guy. lol

Winskins 07-28-2004 04:17 PM

Yeah, if they said it looks minor than I'm not going to pay too much attention to it. I have had sprains that only hurt for a couple days at most and that is what it sounds like he has. If the sprain was more severe, then people would have made more note of it. For example, I sprained my ankle one time and it swelled up to the size of a grapefruit and I knew that was a pretty serious sprain. The symptoms were definitely there since I couldn't walk or put any weight on it.
Bottomline: Taylor is fine!

]<ing 07-28-2004 04:56 PM

Sprains can become chronic though.

My main concern is that every moment on the field from now until gametime is crucial, esspecially if he's slated to start. The off the field downtime will probably end up being more serious than the injury itself.

Riggo44 07-28-2004 05:51 PM

:cussing: Thank God it's not that serious!! :httr:

That Guy 07-28-2004 05:59 PM

man, i guess he's just star-crossed...

I think it's funny how Smoot has become like the press secretary for all the players. Taylor is fine, Coles' toe is fine

sportscurmudgeon 07-28-2004 06:44 PM

I didn't realize Smoot was being a press agent. I thought he was providing uw with his expert medical opinion... ;)

Cush 07-28-2004 07:37 PM

According to the local news, the MRI's came back negative, no tears or anything. He's being listed as "Day to Day"

SkinsNative 07-28-2004 08:00 PM

Every player out there during the season is playing with something. I just hope he can suck it up.

sportscurmudgeon 07-28-2004 10:39 PM

I love it when players are listed as "day-to-day". Aren't we all here on a "day-to-day"basis? Here today; gone tomorrow...

For me, I'll be looking up at grass roots. For an NFL player, he'll be a contributor and then he'll be ... whatever... Day-to-day.

Winskins 07-29-2004 12:11 AM

Sad, yet reflective Sportscurmudgeon. I agree.

huntz 07-29-2004 03:44 AM

It's been the surprise of the day lately with Taylor. Training camp should be this interesting.

He's doing a pretty good job too. Can you imagine Smoot being a reporter? Would anyone understand what he's saying?

Riggo44 07-29-2004 05:47 PM

I heard good news that he will practice Sat. :)

Can't be any worse than Steven A Smith.

That guy, Tom Tolbert, and Bill Walton should all be a broadcast team for women's poker! I swear... it was on TV last night (women's poker I mean)

BleedBurgundy 07-29-2004 06:44 PM

Poker? I don't even know her.

SKINSnCANES 07-30-2004 12:51 AM

out of curiousity, are there even any women on this site? Theres no reason why there shouldnt be, we're all just Skins fans. Im just curious. Its not like theres anything that distinguishes it.
