BioShock
Any other X-Box 360 owners need to do yourselves a favor if you haven't already: either go out and buy this game or atleast download the demo. This is one of the best games I've played in years. Graphics, music, presentation, and the story make this game a easy early choice for game of the year in my opinion.
here are some trailers & vids for anyone who hasn't seen anything about this game: IGN: BioShock Trailer, Videos and Movies |
Re: BioShock
The guy at gamestop told me that BioShock is gonna end up being the game everyone wants and no one is gonna be able to find. And i dont even have a 360.. yet.
But, best go pick it up. Looks like its gonna be hot. |
Re: BioShock
I downloaded the demo last week - the game looks really REALLY good!
|
Re: BioShock
I've heard it's going to be great, I need to grab the demo

Re: BioShock
Man, the game looks awesome...makes me want to go out get XBOX 360.
|
Re: BioShock
I played the demo last night and this game is definitely going to be a must have. When does it come out??

It actually came out two days ago, but you'll probably have some trouble trying to locate a copy. |
Re: BioShock
damn I wish I would have pre-ordered it
|
Re: BioShock
Matty don't worry Best Buy had like fifty of them last night. I have been jocking this game all over the Madden threads I know it would be hot!!!!
|
Re: BioShock
I'm heading to Best Buy soon then!
|
Re: BioShock
Seriously I don't understand why stores want you to reserve games anymore. It is stupid. I can't remeber the last time a game completely sold out. Yes you may not see it in one store but just walk down the street a few steps and the next big box store will have it.
IMO Gamestop and EB are the worst places to buy games. The guys that work there are the biggest nerds ever who try to push shit on you the entire time you are there. Second you can buy all that crap at Best Buy why, even bother with them. Third they want to buy your games back for like $5 then turn around and sell them used for $55. I say tell them to go F themselves! |
Re: BioShock
^^ buy and sell on half.com. Makes it MUCH easier to buy games. I bought Gears of War for like 29 dollars. That is 25 dollars cheaper than EB was selling a used version. That is an extra game. Many other games have even better deals. Then if you are the seller you still make more.
|
Re: BioShock
That looks like a pretty cool game. If I wasn't poor I'd take that step up from my ps2.:(

I say tell them to go F themselves!
it's all about supply and demand. when best buy only has a bit over 1,000 stores nationwide and EB/GS have 4,000, the supplies of games are a bit more spread out. as one of those "nerds" i think it's funny as hell when u see someone say u can find something anywhere and yet get those same people who've driven to multiple stores trying to find said item when all they had to do to save on all the gas they just wasted driving around was do a simple thing like but $5 down on something. I personally reserve my and my family's games just cuz I like to know my stuff is taken care of and I do the same with my movies online and at different stores. some people like that thrill of the hunt type feeling in my expirience and I have no problem with people not reserving cuz thats a personal choice, but those same people who don't reserve the game then turn around and complain the most about going to multiple places trying to find a whatever it is they r looking for. I'm not gonna get into the trade prices, but its a whole more complex than we just wanna rip people off like a lot of people think. I'm also not saying its fair or unfair just it is what it is. it's all about finding the right deal like I got an extra $45 on my trades today. but what works for some is not necesarrily what works for everyone. |
Re: BioShock
I like to pre-order out of convenience, I don't have a Best Buy too close to me but I have EB Games about 5 minutes away.

dude I have been doing that for years! =) buy a game for 35 sel it for 30 after you are done with. couple times I have sold it for more then I bouhgt it for. I basically got paid to play the game! |
Re: BioShock
I most regress on my post about how dumb EB and Gamestop are, now that I think about it more outside of my world. I can see if you live in a area where stores are just simply not around reserving may be a good option. I have lived in DC and B-More and there are a million Best Buys and stuff all in walking distance around here.
I still think nerds work there. =) |

Normally RPGs r the main games that r hard to find at first though from my expirience. By the way Matty, u getting Halo 3? just trying to figure out who on my friends list is that would be down for the 4 player co-op or just multiplayer in general. |
Re: BioShock
I pre-ordered Halo 3 when I picked up Madden.

the demo was better than I thought it'd be but I feel it'd be a game that can be beaten in a couple days and I'm not sure of its multiplayer &/or its replay value. plus I already used what I had to trade in to pay for my copies of Tiger Woods and Blue Dragon. |

what is the point of the game?

Re: BioShock
I finally got my 360 today and picked up BioShock!
Havent played it yet but I got one of the last 2 in the store. The guy in line behind me got the other! :P I'll give my little diddy of a review later tonight or tomorrow. :D |
Re: BioShock
finally played BioShock. It is awesome, the story line is so good it even sucked in my wife, she kept watching to see what would happen next. this like it is a very immense game that is going to take some time. I love it tough!
|
Re: BioShock
I just played the demo it was only the second game to madden I've played on my new xbox and wow any doubts I had about the system were gone when I realized you actually play in that burning water opening sequence, now I just need some money to buy that to!

Re: BioShock
I can't get around to playing this game for some reason!

lol omg. that's my new favorite smiley. I didn't even know that existed! I finally started the game... For 2 minutes. As soon as I got into that building you head into after the plane crash, and the old timey music came on I called it quits. Its 3am and I'm not uber girlygirl, but I'm girly enough to be scared sh*tless about what lurks around every corner. Haha I'll have to play this game tomorrow when I get home from class... And there's daylight. :Smoker: |
Re: BioShock
off topic but i am posting from my ps3 right now that's pretty sweet

that's pretty funny d rave

Re: BioShock
Today I made it to the medical pavillion! lol
And now that its nightfall, I gotta quit :( I guess I'll have to Madden it up for the rest of the night. The game is interesting. Love the storyline so far. Creepy as hell though. Splicers are shooting me and I can't figure out where they're shooting me from (can you tell I don't play shooters much?). My current goal is to get the access key from Dr. Steinbach or whatever his name is. I haven't died yet though, but I can tell that time is quickly approaching. I haven't set up an Xbox Live account yet, but is this game playable online? I wouldn't think it is due to the storyline and such. But it'd be awesome if you could tagteam the baddies and such. And has anyone actually faced the Big Daddies yet? Are they easy or hard? And what has anyone done about the Little Sisters? Save them or harvest them? I'm a girl so its kinda hard to just kill off some little kid, and a girl no less. lol but i hear it's less effective to save them. |
Once again what is the point of the game?
Shoot up the baddies? I mean I don't wanna regurgiate the storyline to you, you can look that up on IGN. But as far as I can get out of it, the most basic explanation would be: a shooter with RPG elements to it. Like you can shoot lightining bolts from your left hand, and wield weapons with your right. I mean if you're into WWII type shooters, then you'll probably hate this. If you liked Oblivion, you'll probably love this. (minus the medievil aspect) |
Re: BioShock
What is Oblivion?

Re: BioShock
What is Oblivion?
O.o Oblivion was probably one of the, if not the best games for the 360 prior to the release of BioShock. It was praised for it looking so good and being open ended, in the fact you could follow the storyline if you wanted or do other things like the side quests or roam around and break into houses, battle in the arena, almost anything you wanted outside of beating up hoes. Go GTA! |

I am still lost.

And for the big daddies, they won't attack u unless u attack them or get too close to the little girls they r protecting so make sure u scout out the area for puddles to zap them, explosive tanks to throw at them, and other advantages so u don't die as much, cuz u will die atleast a few times while fighting them.
Once again what is the point of the game?
u play a guy who @ the beginning of the game is aboard a plane that crashes in the middle of the ocean and the only thing nearby is a lighthouse with a submersible sub in it. So of course he goes down and through the combination of weapons and magical abilities implanted into your genes, you go about trying to find a way home as well as helping some of the locals from the completely insane inhabitants who have done a little bit too much modifying to themselves. and while putting the pieces together, u encounter severely f-ed up enemies from genetic splicers who can climb on the ceiling, splicers who can teleport, and walking tanks known as Big Daddies who have weapons ranging from grenade launchers, shotguns, giant drills, and more. also mixed in r these recordings of some inhabitants whom u'll meet up with that range from funny to down right creepy as hell that helps further enrich the story and atmosphere. watch some vids of it on xbox live or ign. |
