Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
From what I saw of LG Kendall, that move was a genius move. He did a great job in the few series I saw him play. LG was my biggest worry and it seems like he'll definitely be able to keep the heat off of Samuels or Heyer; whoever might start.
A+ move to get him from the JETS! |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
This might turn out to be the move of the offseason. If our line can gel again like it did at the end of last season, and our defense remains improved, we are going to be a formidable team.

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
Despite my criticism of the front office, it is such a comfort to have a veteran guard in there on the left side. I'm not nearly as worried about him and Samuels working in tandem because of the fact that he has been in the league for nearly a decade.

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
Did not get a chance to watch the game, not shown where I am. But every articlce I have read gives a thumbs up for Kendall.
Nice pick up! |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
I thought he looked solid. The whole first team Offense was clicking for the one drive that they played. Great trade Skins.

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
I think once he settles in he'll prove to be a better all around player than Dockery was. The only upside of Dockery vs. Kendall is the age issue.

Here's how I think these two players will look after this season. Kendall is still hungry for $ and respect. He feels like the Jets undervalued him, and while he got an additional million this year, he's going to bust his rear to get more next year. Dockery will now be expected to be a leader on his line - something he never had to do here. The guy to the left and right of him won't be as good as they used to be, and he'll be sitting on $17 million in guarantees. Look for an off year, with finger-pointing aplenty. |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
There's absolutely no way Dockery will ever live up to the expectations that come with that monster contract. He's being paid like a top lineman and he's simply nowhere near being mentioned in the same breath as the top OL in this league. That will ultimately be his downfall in Buffalo.
I don't wish anything bad on the guy, I just think that's his reality. |

Given the current conversation, I thought you guys might like to see what some Bills fans are saying about Dock: Why did the Bills give Dockery $70m again? - Buffalobills.com Message Board

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
Nice job Drift. Familiar stuff. So familiar in fact, I posted a portion of one post from the Bills site.........he .........could be........
"He is not a finished product yet. over the next 3 years he will just get better" Sound familiar? |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
Damn, they are ripping D.Dock's ass. Nice! Finally someone else overpaid for average talent.

LOL it's already started. Just wait until a regular season game when he jumps offsides 2-3 times, then they'll really be kicking themselves. |

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
Like the Bills, we were always .......waiting for Dock to mature into the player we thought we drafted. He's still making it happen

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
My problem is that I really wish Kendall played the whole game last night. As far as I could tell Kendall only played in the first series. I know that chemestry is a big thing with o lineman, but I think executing plays in a game is important too.

There's no way you risk him like that. Add in the fact it was raining a bit too. Can you imagine the disaster it would have been if he got hurt playing in the 4th quarter of the 4th preseason game?? |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
One thing I DID see is that at least he owned the Jaguars scrubs.
I have to say, that mofo has got some guns. |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
anyone else see wade getting that shoulder iced up last night?

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
Just from hearing his brief interviews, I would guess that Kendall would get the highest Wunderlich score on the whole team right now. Whatever age has taken from him, he will more than make up with in brains. I also think he's probably got a mean streak if you look at the way he faced down Mangini and the Jets, which is a great attribute in an O-Lineman as well. He could probably poke some one in the eye without the refs seeing it. Nice.

Yeah, I get the impression he's a bit of an asshole too. In the right way though:) We could definitely use some of that "nasty" on our offensive line. Sometimes I got the impression that Dockery (and not because he's not here) was a little soft. I'm liking this guy on our team more and more. I tell you the Jets? Man it might be just preseason, but it looks like Chad Pennington has taken a step back. But who cares. |

They make him play center, he botches a couple of snaps. It's a good thing he got out of there or at some point the police may have been called in. I just remembered. It's not Seinfeld its Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon in "Grumpy Old Men". |

Are you serious? They put him in the rookie dorm room? Oh you know this guy is going to be a little Conrad Dobler this year. |

Once Palmer was put in then take him out. Id rather see Kendall get hurt then have him blow a assignment in week 1 or 2 and see JC get hurt. Every preseason game JC has played in, besides the couple of minutes he played last night, he has had issues holding on to the ball. I really think D's are gonna gonna do a lot of pass rushing in hopes to get a trunover or two, untill our oline has enough cohesion to easily take pass rushes, or until he gets good enough on throwing the ball away or holding onto it, or they become forced to respect our passing game. With the extensiveness of Al's playbook I just hope Kendall doesnt mess somthing up when taking on a Pass rush. For right now hes gonna be the weak link in our o line. Maybe me just over thinking. |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
Whether he played more last night or not isn't going to make or break his season.
He's a smart veteran player. I'm honestly not even worried about him being able to fill in and do a good job right from the start. It will help him out even more once Samuels comes back and can help him out on the left side. |

He'll be better in three weeks, but he won't "need" it. Since he's smart, I wonder if he fight his guts out? |
Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
The key will be when Samuels gets back. I think our line is in much better shape, especially when Kendall and Samuels have had some practice time together....like ..all next week before the Dolphin game.

Re: Kendall a HUGE PLUS!
What is missing in this discussion? the handful of peple who thought the move to get Kendall are very quite. Great move that will fly under the radar...need to do more moves like that to shed the reputation of a bad front office.
